I enjoyed this book and while it was the first I've ready by Suzanne Enoch, it will not be the last. I thought the characters were developed well and the relationship that developed between Aden and Miranda was one that kept me turning the pages. The villain of this story made things interesting and I loved that no matter how things were destined to turn out for Aden and Miranda, Aden wasn't willing to abandon her.

I look forward to the next book in this series and will be going back to check out book one as well! If you're looking for a historical romance that has an interesting story, solid characters, and some swoony romance, this is one you should be picking up.

I have never read Suzanne Enoch and did not read the first book in this series but I do believe I will. I really enjoyed the banter between the “smart” Miranda Harris and Aden. Especially Aden’s highland brogue. Beyond that,
their attraction was the glue of the story for me.

While Aden tries to get Miranda out of a blackmailing jam, he falls hard as does she. Miranda’s brother and future brothers-in-law to Aden, Matthew, is at the root of the blackmail that could cause their family a disastrous scandal.

Scot Under the Covers by Suzanne Enoch started off as a slow burn romance. When the action picked up, I was hooked. The leading lady, Miranda Harris, is one stubborn but strong heroine. The story really begins where her brother is in debt to a man and leaves Miranda to marry him. Then, there’s the hero of this story, Aden MacTagger. I really liked him. He was everything a real man should be. He has quirks, but it made him more real. Two enemies join forces to help each other. Only neither expected fate to write them a different script.

Suzanne Enoch’s writing was enjoyable. Her characters were well built. It was like getting a sneak peak into two real people’s lives. I also enjoyed the fun, charming, and hot banters between the main characters. I am a huge fan of anything historical and romance. This novel was great! I got lost within the characters and their story.

The sneaky McTaggart has found a bride. Aden and his brothers are in London to find brides at the behest of their other and in an effort to save the future of their Clan. He is the secretive and enigmatic brother. Miranda has had several seasons and not made the decision to marry. Her and Aden clash the first day they meet and she decides she doesn’t like him. When trouble strikes however she reaches out to him and he comes to her rescue. The story is filled with wonderful characters. The dialogue is witty, and funny. You will enjoy the antics of these Highland gentlemen as they turn London on its ears.

Sexy, fun, emotionally thrilling, action packed romantic adventure filled with engaging charters, witty banter, heart racing twists and undeniable passion... was a great read. Really enjoyed reading this intriguing and exciting journey!

Do you like historical romances? I love them--especially when they include a man in a kilt! This is the story of strong-willed Highlander with a heart of gold out to save the woman he loves from a scheming blackmailer. But Miranda is no simpering English lass and is willing to do what it takes to free herself. And Aden will defy all of society's rules to keep her safe.

I loved the characters of Aden and Miranda! Both were strong people who said what they meant. The story had great dialogue with such fun banter between the couple. I loved the Gaelic words that were added! There were several steamy scenes too. The action in the book kept the plot moving. I had to keep reading to see how Aden and Miranda would escape the blackmailers trap and find their happily ever after. The only thing I didn't like was that the ending seemed a little abrupt. This is book two in a series but works as a standalone.

I highly recommend this book to romance fans and can't wait for book 3! Thank you to St Martin's and Netgalley for an e copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The stakes in this book were excellent and created some great tension throughout the story. The villain was also so well done! I think at some points, there was a bit of repetitiveness in Aden's thought process, but I imagine that was probably something that was worked out in the final draft of the book. I'm excited to read Coll's story

SCOT UNDER THE COVERS is the second book in Suzanne Enoch’s “Wild Wicked Highlanders” series about three Scottish brothers reconnecting with their estranged English mother. Initially, in SCOT UNDER THE COVERS, Miranda Harris is determined to think the worst of Aden MacTaggert in much the same way as Elizabeth did when it came to Mr. Darcy in Jane Austen’s PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. Her ill opinion doesn’t last for long, since Miranda ends up coming to Aden for help when she’s targeted by a villain.

I enjoy a good villain in a story, and the enigmatic and sinister Captain Robert Vale has a matter of fact and understated evil quality that makes you shudder. Other than trying to carve out a place in high society and snag Miranda as a wife, his end game is a mystery for the heroes to figure out. Although there’s an initial attraction mixed with irritation between Miranda and Aden when they first meet, it’s Vale and his schemes that act as a catalyst for them getting together and falling in love. This is a great book for readers who enjoy when a hero and heroine have a prickly beginning. Over the course of the book, Aden shows Miranda that he is not the man she initially supposes him to be. Aden feels compelled by his mother to marry quickly, but he can’t find anyone who challenges him – until Miranda. Aden respects Miranda’s sharp wit and strong backbone. While these two people had a dubious and somewhat rocky beginning, circumstances have them working together and getting to know each other better.

SCOT UNDER THE COVERS has intrigue, imaginative storytelling, and a fiery romance. I enjoy seeing how the three brothers, their relationship with each other, their relationship with their mother, and their views on romance, evolve over the course of this series. I look forward to reading Suzanne Enoch’s next book.

This is a well written love story that did not start out that way. Miranda had no desire to get to know Aeden, who will become part of her family once their siblings marry but her brother has gotten himself deep in debt and the only way he can dismiss the debt is if she marries the man holding his notes. Because this is a gambling debt and she knows Aeden likes to wager, she goes to him for advise. The more she is around Aeden, the more she sees a different side to him. Eventually things work out for everyone and there is going to be a HEA but a lot happens first. The story is well written and entertaining in that Miranda is very out spoken and so is Aeden which makes for some wonderful banter. It is an excellent story and I would highly recommend it.

Scots Under Cover is the 2nd book in The Wild Wicked Highlanders series. It could also be read as a stand a lone book. It was a thoroughly enjoyable regency book. I recommend the book and the series!

I love books with Highlander mainly with men who seems a barbarian type and end up being a sweet and true charming prince.
Aden has always been the most controlled and restrained of the MacTaggert brothers. He is a great gambler and like a good bet. He did not think of getting married until his mother's blackmail reached him and his brothers. When he met Miranda at one of his sister's balls, Aden finally comes across a woman who messes with him.
Miranda doesn't like gamblers but will need Aden's help to get rid of her brother's debt and to understand a gambler's mind. He agrees to help the lady in distress but in return she needs to help him behave like a perfect lord. Miranda and Aden come together as partners and will need to trust each other.Gradually, they become affectionate, the attraction grows and love flourishes.
I found their love story very beautiful, I just hoped for a better resolution for the villain and her brother who in my opinion is the biggest villain in the plot.
3,5/5 stars

Miranda is shocked to learn that her brother has lost her in a gambling debt. She is supposed to marry a man that she has just met. Unfortunately for her, nothing about the man appeals to her. In her desperation to get out of the marriage, she enlists the help of Aden who is a known gambler. Who better to beat a gambler than one of his own kind. Miranda has long made it known that she despises gambling, so why does she find the man that is helping her so appealing?

Aden is shocked that Miranda has come to him for help as she made her feeling for him very clear the first time they meet. But after spending time with her, he soon realizes that she is the one for him. Can he convince her to take a chance on him?

I absolutely adored Miranda and Aden's story!! Enoch is masterful with her dialogue and all the bantering between these two had me laughing out loud! So often it is the female that falls for the male first and I loved the role reversal in this one. It didn't take long for Aden to know that Miranda was the woman for him!! I'm excited for the next book in the series, which I assume will be Coll's story.

A braw Scot wearing a kilt, barefoot, with a soft spot for a hungry dog and a horse named Loki? Just call me happy! I immediately fell in love with Aden! He was fun and had a great sense of humor but also a soft side, especially for his family.
He and his two brothers had come to London at the bequest of their mother, who had left them years ago in Scotland, but took their sister her. She held the purse strings and had finagled that the boys were to marry English ladies in order to keep the funds going to support their estate.
So she was trying to set Aden up by parading ladies around and he met Miranda, the sister of Matthew who wanted to wed his sister. Matthew who was asking Miranda to marry a man because he owed him a hugh amount of money from gambling! So she goes to Aden to ask his advice and their journey begins.
This author writes so smoothly and she pulled me in very quickly. A handsome highlander, a feisty lady and everything needed to keep me turning the pages! Humorous banter, strong attraction, a villain set on having our heroine and a cast of characters that are wonderful.. Loved this story as well or even better than the first in this series! Cannot wait for Coll's story!
Oh and last but not least the cover is scrumptious!

Witty, frequently hilarious with the prescribed villain and hero!

I have to say I SO enjoyed renewing my acquaintance with this series featuring the wild wicked highlanders--the MacTaggert Brothers.
Continuing the story about three brawny alpha males being dragged to London by their Sassenach mother to marry English women before their sister Eloise is married, else forfeit continued financial support for Aldriss Park and the people of Clan Ross. Something the three men couldn't bear to let happen. Francesca Oswell-MacTaggert ended up with three very disgruntled sons. As their mother, Francesca controlled the purse strings for their Highland home, the three men obeyed the injunction, not without setting about to cause as much angst and disruption as possible.
Aden MacTaggert has delighted in showing how uncouth he is but when Miranda Harris, the sister of Eloise's fiancé Matthew, asked for his help, he gave it. Mathew it seems had been fleeced badly in cards by an out and out bounder, Captain Robert Vale. Vale's price for the gambling notes is marriage to Miranda. After discovering her brother's perfidy Mia decides she "needed a word with one of the wolves." Aden ways It! The description of Mia stalking the reluctant Aden at the ball is rather hilarious. Mia is certainly a determined person when needs must.
Of course things become exciting and unpredictable. After all the MacTaggerts are involved. I cheered for Miranda and Aden, personally thought Mathew a wretch who was too easily forgiven. I actually hoped that Eloise would give him notice, not go all 'There There Dear.' After all the man just sold his sister to a card sharp for goodness sake! In fact Matthew would have to walk on broken glass for me to forgive him.
Witty, with just the right amount of pathos and daring do. This is a well coined successor to the first in the series!

3.5 stars! A nice historical romance about a Scot and an English woman and how they join forces to handle a big threat to her and her family.

Aden is charming (accent and all). Miranda is strong and brave and smart. And what’s great about their dynamic is that Aden expects Miranda to keep pace with him. It’s great how he views her as a partner.

I don’t really read much historical romances anymore. Too much Johanna Lindsay er al in my youth I think 😂 But I liked this one. It’s sweet and kept me curious on how they rescue her.

Thank you St. Martin’s Press and St. Martin’s Paperbacks for the copy of this book. I enjoyed it.

I loved this Scottish tale! This may be my first book by Suzanne Enoch; let me tell you that it will definitely not be my last. The characters were fun and enjoyable to experience, the plot kept my attention and I liked the twists :).
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars for the lovely characters, intriguing plot, and for keeping my attention.
I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feed back. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

I enjoyed every minute of this fast-paced Regency romance with captivating characters and a story that kept me entertained and intrigued from the beginning and not able to put the book down until I read the last word. I loved the attraction, off-the-charts chemistry and repartee between Aden MacTaggert and Miranda Harris. This may be the first book I have read by Suzanne Enoch but I can't wait to read more by this gifted author. I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I am a massive fan of historical romances. I am also a massive fan of historical romances that involve Highlanders. So, when I saw that Scot Under the Covers was up for review, I knew that I needed to read it.

Scot Under the Covers is the 2nd book in the Wild, Wicked Highlanders series. This book can be read as a standalone book, but I would highly recommend reading book 1. That way, you can get a feel for the boys’ relationship with their mother and her demand that brought them to London. It is explained in this book but gets more in-depth in book 1.

Scot Under the Cover got off to a slow start. I did appreciate the slow start. The author chose to lay the groundwork for Miranda’s storyline. She also decided to let the reader get a good feel for what type of person Aden was. The book did pick up in pace after that first couple of chapters, and it kept a steady pace throughout the book.

I loved Miranda’s character growth in this book. She was introduced as a shy, sheltered debutante. She was sharp, and she knew how to defend herself verbally. Her character growth came when she was forced into an engagement to Captain Robert Vale. She was forced to depend on her wits to outwit him, and when that didn’t work, she turned to Aden. By the end of the book, she was an amazing woman, and she was worthy of Aden.

I had liked Aden in the previous book. The small glimpse that was given of him showed him to be a man who took risks, in and out of the gaming hells. If I liked him in the previous books, I loved him in this one. He knew something was going on with Miranda. Once he found out what was going on, he was going to do anything and everything to help her. What I liked is that not everything is what it seems with him. He had layers upon layers. It was interesting to see what was going to be revealed once one of his layers were peeled back.

I never do this, but I loved the villain in this book. Captain Robert Vale was indeed an evil man. Each one of his interactions with Miranda gave me chills. How he got to Miranda gave me chills. Everything about him gave me chills. I was surprised that he was juggling more than one ball, though. When that was revealed, I did have hope for Miranda after that.

Aden and Miranda’s romance got off to a slow start. She was attracted to him (and him to her), but she was too focused on trying to shake Captain Robert Vale to acknowledge it. It was when Aden found out what was going on that their romance sparked. Then it was all downhill. Aden knew that he was going to marry Miranda reasonably early in the book. It took Miranda much longer to come to that realization.

This is not a clean romance. There is sex. Now how the sex scene came about is interesting. Miranda didn’t want Captain Robert Vale to take her virginity. She asks Aden, who is more than happy to help. The sex scenes were tastefully written and were hot.

I was a little annoyed (actually a lot) with Miranda’s brother and his role in everything. How she could keep talking to him after that baffled me. I also don’t understand how Aden kept his temper too.

The end of the book was nothing short of amazing. But, I was a little put off by how Miranda and Captain Robert Vale’s storyline ended. I was left unfulfilled and feeling a little irritated. But, other than that, amazing and a real HEA!!!

Oh Suzanne Enoch, where have you and your wonderful books been? I'm so happy to have made this discovery!I truly enjoyed this wonderful story of Aden MacTaggert, the striking highlander who came to the rescue of English lady, Miranda Harris. He starts out with the intent of helping her out of her predicament and disproving her bad impression of him. However, somewhere along the way, he also loses his heart to her. Little does he know, she's falling for him as well. Hopefully, they are successful in their "mission" or Miranda will be left with few option about who she's marrying thanks to her brother's poor choices. Oh yes, her brother happens to be engaged to Aden's sister and let's just say he's had some issues in the past with gambling debts.

This is the second in a series but you don't need to read them in order. I hadn't read the first one yet, but you can believe I'll be going back to read it now. Scot Under the Covers had a creative storyline and characters that both had strong personalities. A definite winner!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
