Tucker by Emily March is one amazing, page turning, phenomenal read. I Really loved reading this book.
It was heartfelt, romantic and full of feelings. A Five Star read.
In this book we get to know more about Tucker McBride, a very handsome now retired Army Ranger, looking to start his life over. On his way to Enchanted Canyon, a property he inherited along with his cousins Jackson and Boone, he runs into damsel in distress Gillian Thacker. Gillian is the co-owner of Bliss Bridal Salon, and finds herself in the middle of nowhere after her car broke down when she left her fiancé after a very heated argument. Tucker has an immediate attraction for her but she’s engaged.
Later when they meet again, there is trouble in Gillian’s paradise and Tucker has opened a survival skills school. Sparks definitely fly between these two but will she ever be ready to start again with him?
I love Emily March’s Eternity Springs series. This book is part of that series but it’s also part of a trilogy about three McBride cousins within that series. Each book can standalone of course but it is a great family feel-good trilogy.
I received an advanced review copy and the opinions in this review are mine alone.
Romance. One of my favorite genres and this story was not a let down. A different worlds collide sort of story. One with a military past which always has a story. Thrown together in proximity because of work the two have to decide if they are willing and able to take the leap of life together.
So here's the thing - while I liked this book I wasn't blown away. Overall it was enjoyable read but Gillian kept pushing my buttons. I could understand why she had her walls up high but seeing Tucker how he was determined to show her how good they could be, she (in my opinion) could have been more open to the possibility of a new love.
I really liked Tucker and his personality. I loved his planing skills and the way he used them to show his interest and love for Gillian. When she finally came to her sense, you could tell they were perfect for each other.
This one is getting 3.5* from me. I'm hoping this one was more it's-me-not-you type of book and the next one to blew me away.

Perfect read. Great romance. Well written with the perfect amount of character development.

This title is the third in a series but readers do not have to have read the earlier ones to enjoy this. Here is a small town Texas story that readers can be sure will have a happy ending. In these pages, they will meet Gillian who runs a bridal business even as her own romantic life has its complications. Also key to the story is former U.S. Army Ranger, Tucker. What will happen when he opens a business next door to Gillian’s? Who will Gillian want to spend her life with? You may well know but the fun is in enjoying the story unfold.
Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press for this title. All opinions are my own.
I will start right off by stating I enjoyed this one better than book one in this series. Tucker is coming home to Eternity Springs to open a Survivalist Store/Camp along with his cousins and they are opening it in the vacant storefront next to Bliss Bridal. He happens to meet Gillian when she took a wrong turn following her GPS and ran out of gas and came to her rescue and when she realizes he bought the storefront she has had her eye on she is livid. She wanted to expand her business. She is planning her wedding and when that comes crashing down and her business plan all at the same time she is at a loss. At least Tucker is there to pick up the pieces, so to speak. These two are perfection. The spark and spunk and banter is priceless.
This book started off so promising.!! This is the second installment of "The Mcbrides of Texas" series and I really loved the first so I figured I would give this a go. Though the first book is about Jackson finding love again, this story is about his cousin, Tucker, and how he found love. Tucker is a military veteran and is looking for a place to set down some roots. If you have not read the first book, Tucker along with his two other cousins, Jackson and Boone, have inherited a nice piece of land that includes a beautiful canyon from a distant relative. Tucker and Gillian cross paths by chance, but will their have a chance?
When we first meet Gillian and Tucker, Tucker is on his motorcycle and Gillian is stranded on the side of the road after crashing her rental car. Unwilling to leave a damsel in distress, Tucker puts on his Superman cape and offers to help Gillian and gives her a ride to a local gas station to be picked up by her fiancée. The chemistry between the two are electric and the share a kiss that neither of will ever forget. Fast forward 3 months and they find themselves in the same small town named Redemption and the heat and electricity is still ever present, but there is one big problem…Gillian is about to get married. Tucker knows that Gillian is the woman for him, but she is already takes. Will Tucker learn to love and get the woman of his dreams? I am sure that you know already, but the journey is the most important thing, is it?
Now I really wanted to get into this review by stating the this story started off strong and I really liked the characters. I also enjoyed seeing the other characters from the first book make an appearance. Gillian, along with her mother, owns a bridal dress shop and Tucker is a military veteran with a specialty in survival skills. They come from two different backgrounds, but they seem to mesh well together. I was really looking for Tucker to have a better character development because he was a veteran and I am always intrigued with a veteran hero. His military background was only mentioned in passing and the author did not use to her advantage to carry this story or to make his character have a little grit or contrast. Tucker was so love sick with Gillian and it came off kind of creepy. A military character can be written in so many ways, but his military experience did not seem to affect him in any way. Gilian was such a dingy, goof of a female character. She made some of the stupidest decision that I have ever seen. This woman is in her 30s, but she acts like a 20 year old. The story was going strong until they got to Vegas and it did a complete 360 for me in the wrong direction. This book has two different type of stories and it lost me. Also, the other always opted to tell me what happened instead of show me. For example, when Tucker and Gillian first meet up after their initial meeting, the author does not show me that meeting!!! I would have love to see that or been a fly on the wall. I had to fight in order to finish it, which is never a good thing.
All in all, the story was okay and nothing stood out for me. The characters were weak, the pacing was slow, and the plot was all over the place. I am so disappointed because I loved the first installment. I just wanted to mention again that the author dropped the ball on this military character, which are one of my favorites besides cowboys. This book takes place in a small and I did not get that small town feeling at all. I would have to rate this story as a 3 Star. Just grab your book and read. No blanket or tea needed because you might end up snoozing off. ***sigh***
This is book 17 of the Eternity Springs Series. Gillian is a bridal expert. She loves weddings and especially hers. When he life unexpectedly blows up, she must scramble to keep her business and reinvent her life.
Absolutely a huge sucker for this genre and Emily March didn't fail to deliver.
The author has created a wonderful world where you feel like you could be apart of.
The characters are absolutely delightful and I was fully invested.
If you're a fan of this type of genre, don't miss this one.
I could not stand to read another word of this book. Gillian was more than I could stomach. She is so selfish, self centered, childish just terrible! Tucker should have run for the hills.
Eternity Springs is one of my favorite series when it comes to books. Tucker was the first book I read ( out of order) in the spin off series The McBrides of Texas.
While I enjoy this story very much and had to purchase the other two to this series . I did not care at all for Gillian one of the main characters in this book. She was so shallow , childish , pouty , for being in her 30's it seemed more like she was a teenager. I could just picture in my head her stomping her feet after her break up with her fiancé who leaves her on the side of the road.
Tucker trying to find direction in his life after leaving Army rangers heads out on his motorcycle to where life takes him. Which happens to be Texas to hang out with his cousins.
Tucker sees Gillian on the side of the road and picks her up , the sparks fly and the story continues for there. Boy meets girl, girl just coming out of a bad breakup trying to find her way and boy has no time for games has he is starting a new business.
Celeste , once again and her cousin manages to work their magic to show this couple what it's really all about.
I did enjoy this book, but Gillian got on my nerves from beginning to end, but it didn't keep me from finishing the book.
Gillian’s business and wedding plans slowly drifted away like a lazy tumbleweed blowing across the Texas landscape. Her broken heart wasn’t ready to accept her fate as she helped others plan their happily ever after. It wasn’t so much she was upset about the groom but the loss of a dream. Now it was time to survive and Tucker had all the skills she needed to be successful and get a little grubby. He provided he perfect balance and the boost to her self confidence when she needed it the most. Another great installment in the series!
Tucker by Emily March is a 2020 St. Martin’s Press publication.
Absolutely Charming!
Gillian Thacker runs a Bridal Shop in Redemption, Texas. Her own wedding plans, though, aren’t going so well. After a big blow-up with her fiancé- Tucker McBride comes to her rescue. An immediate spark ignites, but Gillian is engaged, and Tucker is trying to find his way since his days in the Army have come to an end.
Yet, he and Gillian keep bumping into each other as both her wedding and business dreams come tumbling down around her. Tucker, who never really considered the prospect of falling in love, much less marriage, is suddenly finding the notion of great interest. Can he convince Gillian to take another chance on love?
For me, this arc in the Eternity Springs series got off to a bumpy start. For that reason, I put a little space between it and this second installment.
But, this book made up for that, and then some!! The book starts off with some great humor and snappy dialogue and the momentum builds, with strong character growth and the perfect blend of emotion and warmth.
I enjoyed this one from start to finish! The characters have fabulous chemistry, the landscape is vivid, the tone is light, and often funny, but there is enough depth to keep me emotionally invested and entertained at the same time!
Overall, this one of the best contemporary romance novels I have read so far this year!!
5 stars
I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I have only read Jackson from the rest of the series and they sound wonderful. Jackson was great. Now you really don't have to read Jackson to read this one (even though the characters are interwoven). I would highly recommend it though as it was a wonderful book.
Oh Tucker stole my heart from reading Jackson (what can I say, I LOVE military men!!!!) Tucker left the military and returned to Texas. From Jackson's book, we learned that Jackson, Tucker and Boone inherited some land from an aunt. He rescues Gillian when she wrecks her small SUV to avoid a wild pig. Gillian runs a bridal boutique with her Mother. Gillian is engaged to another man. They have a fight and she leaves to return home. Tucker is attracted to Gillian right from the beginning.
These two have several hurdles to overcome, mainly the fiance. The author really made these two work for their HEA. When Gillian becomes single again, she carries a heavy burden of self-doubt. She is attracted to Tucker but she is worried after just coming from a heavy break-up. Because this book is written in a dual POV format, you can really get that glimpse into Gillian's dilemma. She knows that she has to overcome the break-up to get to the other side (basically so Tucker is NOT the rebound guy!).
I adored this story! I personally give this 20 gold stars. The story was so well written. It was like I was right there in the middle of the story. There are some kissing scenes and after that it is faded to the next day or hours later. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone. I could see myself reading and re-reading this story again and again.
I love this one so much! Opposites attract is such a fun trope to read. Once again Emily March brings us a beautifully written romance with plenty of emotion, and characters you easily fall in love with.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. The main character is way too immature for my liking. She seems very immature for her age and I could just not get into the book.
This is the first time I have read a book by Emily but I’m sure it won’t be my last. I love a good romance and this one is definitely that. Thanks Emily!
Tucker is the second book in the Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas series and it can be read as a standalone but I read the first book before reading this. I love Tucker who was a strong, swoon worthy main character. The book was well written. It kept me engaged and made me smile at the end of the story.
