I loved the story of tucker. I couldn't put down.
I was like wow to one of the character's. I didn't like him. Ha Ha. But it made the story interesting. I loved all the other characters tho.
Hope to find more of this series I can't wait for more. I always love Emily March book's.
Before I started this book, I had to read Jackson's story. I wanted the background before I met Tucker. Tucker and Gillian's story is cute but it feels rushed to me. I did not like Gillian too much, at times I felt she just was self involved, wanting to string this guy along while she could not make up her mind. Tucker's feelings went from 0 to 100 in a blink of an eye. The story moves through months of time but it doesn't relay the progression of the emotions adequately. I could not find sympathy for Gillian in this book.
Gillian McBride is half owner of Bliss Bridal Salon in Eternity Springs, Colorado. She is also engaged and, Happy?
Something is wrong with Gillian's fiance and, their relationship but, she can't put her finger on it. Maybe it's pre- wedding jitters but, every time she tries to speak with her fiance about it, he changes the subject or, calls to cancel their plans.
Meanwhile, She meets Tucker McBride, a new addition to Eternity Springs who decides to open a wilderness survival school right across the street from the Bridal Salon!!! Seriously? Gillian was going to buy the building to expand the Bridal store into a complete bridal experience with everything any bride could possibly want or need, in one place!!!
Tucker is determined to finally go after the first woman he has been attracted to in years but, it's going to be a huge uphill battle with Gillian, a woman who is a planner down to her toes. He just blew her plans out of the water and, she is floundering!!!
The fight is real and, never ending!!! So is the love!!!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!!!!!
So sorry to see this series end!!!
This is the second book in The McBrides of Texas series. Tucker’s story is one of figuring out what the next chapter in his life will be after the army. He comes home to the small Texas town of Redemption and meets Gillian, a beautiful, smart, and (sad to say) engaged woman. When life hands Gillian a major upset she and Tucker find they might have a lot to teach each other. It will take a while for these headstrong people to realize what it takes to survive and move forward, possibly together. The McBrides of Texas – Tucker is filled with fun repartee between Gillian and Tucker. I enjoyed the laugh-out-loud scenes that played out in Las Vegas as well as on the Texas hiking trails. A fun novel all the way around. I’m looking forward to Boon’s story that was hinted at near the end.
I had discovered The Eternity Springs series a couple of years ago. I fell in love with the romances. Then, I saw that there was a spin-off with the Texas cousins. Again, I fell in love with the first book. So, when I saw that Tucker was available for review, I jumped on it. I figured it had to be as good as Jackson and The Eternity Springs series. And let me tell you, I was right!!
Tucker is the 2nd book in The Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas series. This book can be read as a stand-alone. But, and I will say this about all of the stand-alone books in series, read book 1!! There are recurring characters that crop up in Tucker who’s background stories will make you wonder what’s going on.
The pacing of the plotline for Tucker was perfect. It was slow and sweet. Usually, I am not a fan of those types of plotlines. I need a bit of speed to them. But, considering everything Gillian went through in the book, the slower pace was required. There was some lag in the plotline, right around when Gillian broke things off with her fiance. But the author was able to get the book back on track. There were no dropped storylines or characters.
I loved Tucker. I liked that he called out Gillian’s fiance for what he was, a pretentious d-bag. I loved that he was honest with himself about being very attracted to a woman in a relationship. I loved that he knew that he wanted to be with Gillian but was willing to wait until she healed before he pursued her. I also know that he was comfortable in his skin. He got out of the Army when he was being pressured to make friends with the suits in Washington. He used his Army expertise to start a survival school, which I loved. I just loved him and was #TeamTucker the entire book.
I liked Gillian, but man, she was a mess for 90% of the book. She was engaged to a guy who was a jerk. She changed everything she wanted for a wedding to accommodate him. I wanted to shake her and say, “Wake up, sweet cheeks!!” I liked that she was honest enough with herself to admit that she was attracted to Tucker. What I didn’t like was that she did lead him on at points in the book. I get that she was trying to find herself, but man, do it away from Tucker. Also, how could she have never hiked living near that canyon? And to hike by herself? WTH was she thinking!!
The romance between Gillian and Tucker was slow-burning. It was so slow at times that I wondered if I had imagined the heat between them. But, once Gillian and her fiance broke up, it came roaring back, and it was electric.
The sex scenes were pretty tame, considering the heat between Gillian and Tucker. They weren’t explicit, but you knew what was going on. I liked that. It didn’t take away from the romance.
I was furious with the plotline with Gillian and her fiance. I figured something happened, but I wasn’t expecting who it was. I loved how the author ended that plotline. Talk about satisfying!!
The plotline with Tucker and his business was fascinating. It was the first time that I have read a book where survival training was written about. I liked that he started small and morphed it into a thriving business.
The end of Tucker was what I expected. Some of the plotlines were wrapped up, and some weren’t. I did like that Tucker and Gillian got their HEA. I also cannot wait to read book 3!! From the foreshadowing in the book, it looks like it will be a good one!!
3.5 Stars
There is something delicious about a story that has a Cowboy, a woman who discovers there is more than her plans, and a sweet romance. This had everything like that and it worked on a lot of levels.
Super cute romance book! I wasn’t really confused even though it’s part of a trilogy. It kept my attention the entire time even though it isn’t something that I normally read. Loved how the characters developed and that it took place in Texas.
I would definitely recommend!
This is a well written book that hooks you on the first page. It’s a heartwarming story that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. I look forward to reading more books by this author. Thank you St. Martin’s Press via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Eternal Springs is an enjoyable read. This is the second book in this series. Everyone is excited for the upcoming wedding of Jackson and Caroline. Gillian is planning her own wedding also. Lots of plot twist will keep you wondering about Jeremy and hid love for Gillian. You'll love how love works out for everyone.
Tucker McBride is at a crossroads in his life, does he go to Redemption, Tx or home to Ft. Worth, TX after ending his career as an Army Ranger. He rescues a woman lost and is instantly attracted. Sadly, he discovers she is engaged and off limits. Tucker finds purpose again for his life in Redemption as a wilderness survival teacher. Gillian Thacker owns a bridal salon with her mom in Redemption and is planning to open an event planning business once she is married. After being rescued and kissed by Tucker McBride Gillian finds herself having second thoughts. Will Tucker and Gillian find their happiness with each other or with someone else? I really love this series by Emily March. Totally recommend Tucker and Gillian’s story. I laughed, cried, and found myself cheering these two on. *****
This was another new author for me, and the book was easy nothing ground breaking. We meet ex Army Ranger Tucker McBride, now ladies I would grab him. So he is trying to get his feet wet back into society, and is in an unfulfilling desk job. We also meet Gillian who owns a bridal salon with her mom and she is going to be a bride, but her fiance is undeserving of her Jeremy, Tucker knows this but he will not do anything while she is engaged to another man regardless if she not happy. However, when things change, all bets are off and they get to start acting on there chemistry. I liked Tucker, Gillian not so much, I felt Tucker was too good for her, however I didn't write , so it is what it is.
I received a copy of this book.
This is a sweet romance between a bridal shop owner and an ex Army Ranger.Gillian is trying at times. She has obviously had a shock but her behavior is obnoxious until she starts to calm down and not rush into things. Tucker is a sweetheart and a wonderful patient man.His stabilizing influence on Gillian is welcome.
I wish I like the heroine more.I'll admit my own bias as I know a person like her who tap dances on my nerves.I prefer the previous book but this was a nice afternoon read.
Gillian Thacker owns a wedding dress shop with her mom in Redemption,Texas. She is supposed to get married but her fiancé breaks up with her, which leaves her not sure of herself. Tucker McBride and his cousins open a survival wilderness right next to the Bliss the wedding shop. Tucker and Gillian get thrown together because of Jackson McBrides is marrying Caroline.
This is part of the Eternity Springs series and it’s crossover.
Thank you St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for an early ARC. This is my own and honest opinion.
Tucker by Emily March is the 2nd book in her Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas series. We meet our heroine, Gillian Thacker, who is Caroline’s (previous book heroine) best friend, and the co-owner of the Bliss Bridal Salon. Gillian is the perfect girly girl, who lives and breathes everything related to weddings. She is in the process with her mother of planning Caroline’s wedding, as well as her own. When we do meet Caroline, she has a fight with her fiancée, Jeremy, and walks away in a huff, only to find herself stranded and lost.
Tucker Mcbride, one of the three cousins who plan on staying and fixing up Eternity Springs, has just completed his service as a US Army Ranger, and is on his way to Eternity Springs, when he comes across the young beautiful lady stranded. Tucker will give her a lift, and to her surprise she learns he is one of the McBrides. Tucker cannot seem to take his eyes off Gillian, but shortly thereafter, Jeremy comes to take Gillian back to Eternity Springs.
Tucker begins to build his life in Eternity Springs, when he buys an empty building that will house a wilderness training school, which is much to Gillian chagrin. She wanted to buy the building to expand the salon to more wedding type of services; she isn’t too happy with Tucker. In a short time, all hell breaks loose, as Jeremy decides to break up with Gillian, and the wedding is off. She is despondent and a mess, though she knew Jeremy had been avoiding discussing the wedding for a long time, and now she accepts her situation and decides no men in her life for the foreseeable future.
Tucker makes it his business to find ways to bring Gillian out of her shell pushing her to go with him on things, knowing she only wants to be friends; but Tucker knows he wants more, as he slowly is falling in love with Gillian. Unfortunately, Gillian would not allow herself to get into a relationship with Tucker, even though she feels the attraction to him.
What follows is a slow burn romance, with Tucker doing everything to win over Gillian, and Gillian’s attempt to ignore the chemistry between them. I loved Tucker, who not only gorgeous, but sweet, caring, patient, sexy and confident. Gillian on the other hand for the most part was too much a mess for at least half of the book; but it was nice when her friends all got together for a short trip to get her out of her depression. I also enjoyed when Tucker trained Gillian and all her friends on wilderness survival, which will help Gillian down the road. It was nice when Gillian finally decided to succumb to Tucker’s advances. Wonderful group of secondary characters.
Tucker was a fun, entertaining, enjoyable adventure, with some surprises along the way. Emily March once again gives us a sweet story, which I suggest you read.
Tucker is book 2 in the Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas Series by Emily March. Even though this book is second in the series it can very well be read as a standalone. Ms. March wrote a wonderful story which drew me right in, and did not let me go until I turned the last page. It was a quick and delightful read. The book is very well written and the characters are well defined and believable. This book has it all romance, passion and humor. I'm excited to see what she has in store for us next!
Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas trilogy, TUCKER
This story starts out with Tucker and he's back from the military and at odds with himself and what he wants to do with the rest of his life.
He has interventions from his cousins and they help him with a venture he's dreamed about.
Problem is it interferes with what Gillian had planned for...she is about to marry Jeremy but things don't go so well and they break up.
Jeremy just wanted her by his side to advance himself...love how the others come to her rescue with interventions, her mother, Tucker and her girls.
Like hearing how they combine forces with the camo and wilderness training. Love learning new things there!
So many things occur breaking them up, bringing them together that you wonder if things will ever go right for them. Love cave and treasures that surprise her.
Cool locations. First book I've read in this series but didn't feel left out but would like to read the others as the author as a way of telling a great story..
Received this review copy from the publicist St. Martin's Press via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
I always enjoy Emily March books and Eternity Springs was no exception. Entertaining and well written plot with characters you will love. I highly recommend this book to fans of romance. I received an arc from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.
A wonderful addition to the series great characters relationships. The story always draws me in so well written can be read as a stand alone read it enjoy and get the rest of books in both series.#netgalley#st.martinsboks,
This is the second book in the McBrides of Texas series and while you may recognize some characters from the Eternity Springs series it actually not set in Eternity Springs. It can be read as a stand alone novel, however, I recommend reading the Eternity Springs novels just because they are very enjoyable. Tucker McBride has left the military and he is at a loss as to what to do next with his life. While he was in the military he never considered having a family. But now that he has spent time with his cousin's daughter, Tucker wants a family. Too bad the woman that sparks his interest is already engaged to someone else. Gillian, unlike Tucker, knows exactly what she wants to do in life. She has everything planned out, right up until her fiancé changes the plan in a big way!
This was another great read from Emily March that features not only an fun and engaging plot but also very likeable and entertaining secondary characters.
I am going to steal the saying, "life is hard, wear a helmet." I love it, it is going to be a life mantra.
Tucker really had no idea what he was getting into when choosing to loose his heart to Gillian. I loved reading, Eternity Springs.
