I really liked this book and it gets 4 big Lincoln stars from me.
Lincoln is a very sexy tech geek whose ex-wife really did a number on him and ruined his trust in relationships and love. He meets Lilly at a bar after she has been to her best friends wedding and they have a one night stand. The morning after she has disappeared without giving her last name or phone number.
Unfortunately for them both he is the best man at the next wedding “the mile high wedding planners” are working on and she is the wedding planner who does not date people involved in weddings especially not the best men. How are they supposed to stay away from each other when their chemistry is so hot and burning and can Lincoln learn to trust in love again and leave his past behind?
I really loved Lilly and Lincoln together and that she finds his really lame jokes funny is so sweet. They are so different but somehow they just fit and I just rutted for them the whole way.
In the beginning I thought that Lilly was very dry and stubborn and I had trouble liking her but she changed throughout the story and became more open and fought for what she wanted.
The side characters were great and I thought that Lilly really needed her very open and forward friend Moira (Mo) to push her out of her comfort zone and take risks she wouldn’t else have taken.
I can definitely recommend this book.
I got this book from Entangled Publishing and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was cute and fun! It was my first from this author, but definitely not my last :) (Book 1 in the series, The Best Friend Problem , is on my TBR--this one worked fine as a standalone, though.)
I really liked both Lilly and Lincoln--they had a lot of chemistry, and their relationships with their respective friends were fabulous. The resistance they each had about a relationship made sense, though of course they should have known that resistance is futile and anyway, they didn't really want the moratorium on romance to last any longer than the readers did ;)
It's a romance, so you know going in that there's going to be a black moment coming--this time it's Lincoln who throws the relationship away with two hands, which was beyond frustrating (even he thought so while he was doing it...grrr) but he finally makes up for it in a way that is absolutely perfect for both of their characters.
Bring on Mo's book! I can't wait to see what her "problem" will be :)
Rating: 4 stars / A-
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

One time. Lilly Walsh slept with a client one time. And he wasn't even really a client, just a member of the bridal party that Lilly was a planner. But his wife (!) unexpectedly showed up and Lilly was taken aback. Then sued. So she's made a promise to herself never to do that again. But what is she supposed to do when the one-night-stand she had shows up as the best man at another wedding?
Lincoln Reid is toked to see Lilly again but he can't understand why she's so shy about keeping what they had going. But he's willing to go with it. And as he helps to plan his two best friends' wedding, he starts to fall more and more in love with this woman.
I did NOT like the Big Misunderstanding at the end of this book. I get that there were breadcrumbs leading to that moment but it didn't feel true to Lincoln's character up to that point. He went from being this dream boyfriend to a jerk and, while that may be something that happens in real life, the turn back to dream boyfriend didn't ring as true.

Opinions are my own

I hate that I didn’t read book one first. (Don’t need to but I like to). That being said, it’s really the only negative I had. The characters were great and memorable. The story flowed nicely and was intriguing. Really a well done read. Would recommend.

The Best Man Problem by Mariah Ankenman had a solid plot and two characters that haven’t had the best luck at love.
Lilly has a rule not to date anyone in the wedding party and is surprised to find that her one night stand Lincoln is the best man in an upcoming wedding she’s hosting. There’s a lot of resistance by Lilly, but Lincoln figures his role as best man is only temporary. He just has to wait it out.
Overall the story had a good plot and two characters that have chemistry even though they don’t have much in common. Unfortunately, The Best Man Problem didn’t wow me in any way. I don’t have any strong feelings towards it that are good or bad. It was simply a solid story. So I’d recommend checking it out for yourself if the synopsis interests you.
I will say, however, Lilly’s strong dislike of flavored lattes wounded my heart a bit. I love mochas!

Thank you so much to Net Galley and Entangled Publishing for allowing me to review this book. This book is actually book 2 in a companion series, which I regretfully didn't realize. It can be read as a standalone, but I'm sad that I didn't read book 1. That being said I will go back and read book 1 ASAP. This series follows 3 best friends who run a wedding planning business, which is something that I love! I've read a lot of series where friends own wedding companies or match making companies and it's a plot device that I absolutely adore. In this book we follow Lilly and she has a past that has left her feeling a little lonely. It causes her to have a one night stand with Lincoln. Little does she know that Lincoln is going to be the best man in an upcoming wedding that she is planning and that is a big no no in Lilly's eyes. Lincoln also has a bumpy past that leaves him not necessarily ready for a new relationship. They then proceed to have this tug of war style relationship where they both want each other, but don't want each other at the same time.
I loved this book and it was exactly what I needed to get out of a slumpy mood that I had been feeling recently. The writing style is very each to follow and get attached to. I loved following the journey of these characters. Lincoln's dad jokes made me smile and reminded me of my husband's humor. When I was only 8% into the book I texted a friend, "if this book keeps going the way it is, I'm going to give it 5 stars." Let's just say the book continued in that direction and I gave it 5 stars. I love how emotionally connected I was to the main characters and the side characters. I laughed with them, smiled with them, got frustrated with them, and cried with them. I can't wait to go buy this book physically for my shelf, go back to read book 1, and impatiently wait for book 3!

Yay for a romance with a fun forced proximity trope (they even get snowed in!). While this is the second in a series, I didn’t read the first book and thought it worked perfectly fine as a standalone.
Things are awkward for Lilly when it turns out her one-night-stand is the best man of the next wedding she’s planning – and now Reid’s got four weeks to convince her to give him a try. Not for a relationship, but just another roll in the hay to get her out of his system.
“Mark her words, those who rushed in would rush right back out when they discovered that spark didn’t last.
You had to have substance, compatibility. You couldn’t just see someone and know. Love didn’t work that way.”
Famous last words, huh? Lilly prides herself on being the opposite of her mother, who hops in – and out – of relationships without much thought for anything other than chemistry. Lilly’s looking for true long-term commitment, and she doesn’t think that’s something that can be determined from an instant moment of connection (or a night of particularly amazing sex). Reid, still reeling from the implosion of his marriage, isn’t interested in a long term commitment at all – and that’s just one mark against him on Lilly’s honest-to-goodness hand-written pros and cons list. Since it shows that they don’t match, that’s enough for her to not want to pursue a relationship… even if she still daydreams about their night together. I thought Lilly’s overwhelming attraction to Reid was hilarious, and it definitely helped amp up the tension between the two. Reid’s a computer geek so there’s a definite nerdy side to the relationship, including flirting over pinball, which they both excel at. But the best part? He picks Lilly up at the hotel bar with dad-joke-worthy pirate jokes!
“All’s fair in love and pinball.”
The book is pretty short – only 150 pages – so the story moves quickly. I liked that it was set in Denver, which isn’t a city I’ve seen too many romances set in. The side characters were fun, especially Mo and Pru, though I thought the wedding couple, Reid’s friends, were a little too pushy on getting Reid to hook up with Lilly. Although I anticipated the bleak moment for most of the book, it still missed the mark for me. Despite the build up, I felt like the way it happened completely went against everything else I knew about Reid’s character. Though he immediately realizes he reacted badly, instead of apologizing and explaining, he just… does nothing. The grovel, however, was very Reid-sweet.
Overall, this was a fun and quick read. While I don’t think I’ll go back and read the first in the series (I’m not a big fan of pregnancy romances), I’ll definitely be looking for the remaining wedding planning partner’s book, as Mo was an absolute riot.

I give The Best Man Problem by Mariah Ankenman 5 stars. Mariah did a fantastic job creating this witty romantic comedy with well rounded characters and fun friendships. I definitely recommend this quick, light read!

Lilly had hooked up with a hot stranger at the bar after her best friend Pru and Finn's wedding. Pru was also one of two of Lilly’s business partners, the other being Moe who's also her roommate, as was Pru before she married. Pru had married her best friend Finn and they had a set of gorgeous twins. Lilly realized after the intimate wedding she was lonely. Lilly wasn’t one for hookups. Prim and proper. She went to the bar after the wedding and ended up having a one night stand with Lincoln. Lincoln had just arrived in town to see some friends. Lilly believed you had to have substance, compatibility. You couldn’t just see someone and know. Love didn’t work that way. Pru and Moira were Lilly’s best friends as well as her roommates well Pru wouldn’t be anymore now but they were also her business partners in their wedding planning business. Lilly thought no pining over a one night stand that could never go anywhere. Than she had a meeting with Kenneth and Marie who she had already worked with for seven months on their wedding they were getting married in a month. They were bringing in their best man as he had came to Colorado a month early to help them. Lilly was shocked when she saw Lincoln was to be their best man. Her one and only one night stand. Lincoln was totally surprised to see the woman who had blown his mind but was already gone when he woke up. He was happy to see her. He was hoping to repeat their night together but after seeing the panic in her eyes he’d denied prior knowledge of her. It did sting a little. It seemed like Ms. Walsh didn’t want anyone to know about their liaison. Marie and kenneth had a phone call about work at their coffee shop that left lincoln and Lilly alone in her office. Lilly admitted he had been her first one night stand and he said the same thing. Lilly apologized if she hurt his feelings and Limcoln thought maybe she stung his pride but she couldn’t hurt his feelings. No woman could do that anymore. Lincoln ,made sure of that. Lilly said she didn’t do relationships with clients and their bridal party and Lincoln replied “ I never said anything about a relationship.” He’d been there, done that, got the broken heart, and divorce papers from Jessa to prove it. Not doing that again. Lust was something Lincoln trusted. Lilly unknowingly had a relationship with a married man. He had been a best man in a wedding she did and he lied saying he was single. When the affair came out he claimed Lilly seduced him and his family took his side. It had almost ruined their business. Lilly had been sick for months over what she inadvertently done . the damage had caused, not only to her business and a poor woman’s marriage but also to her heart. Trust wasn’t something Lilly gave easily now, even doubly so.
I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy romantic read with some humor thrown in. I really like dLilly and Lincoln together. Their chemistry was hot. I also loved the relationship Lilly had with Pru and Mo, as well as the one Lincoln had with Kenneth and Marie. Lilly and Lincoln both had issues , Lilly from her relationship with a married man and Lincoln from his failed marriage. He didn’t want anything to do with a relationship and that is what Lilly was looking for. I enjoyed the plot and pace. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

3.5 stars. I really liked the idea of this book although I feel their relationship could have been more explored. I liked their background and the reasons for both of them to be weary of starting a relationship. But I felt that I was more told than shown how they fell in love... and I would have liked more emphasis to be put on that part. But a good book overall

This was a cute read that had likable characters, sweet romantic vibes from both the MCs and the secondary characters and I’d probably say it was a slow burn since after the ONS, Lilly and Lincoln keep things friendly and it gives them a chance to get to know each other outside of the bedroom. The sexual tension simmers for them all the way until the explosive reunion *fans self* and gave the story great pacing.
Memorable Moments:
Lilly’s best friend and business partner, Moira, was hilarious and snarky and really a fun character :) and then there was Kenneth and Marie. Their love story was so adorable and really added that something special to the story.
Would I recommend? This was a cute read, low drama and low angst. Definitely for the contemporary romance lovers.

This was my first read from this author and I quite enjoyed it, It was fun, quick, steamy, and had a few snort inducing funny moments. I especially liked how genuine it felt and how relatable it was. The side characters were as much fun as the main, and I'm psyched to see where the rest of the series goes.

Though I liked the opening section and feel that Lilly’s got a real reason to keep her interactions with wedding party members impersonal (while seeing that they have a marvelous wedding – because she’s good at what she does), her back-and-forth, hot-and-cold relationship with Lincoln got tiresome. Yeah, yeah sexual tension must be built but she’s frankly insulting to him a time or two when she tells him she’s keeping a list of why they wouldn’t be able to keep up a long-term commitment before Lincoln has even said he’d be interested in that.
Because yes, Lincoln has his reasons for wanting to keep things light and merely hawt with no plans for forever. Lilly is the Queen of Mixed Signals though she’s putting out enough interest and staring at Lincoln so much that soon everyone knows their feelings of hawtness and is trying to move this couple along towards at least hitting the sheets if nothing else.
And we have to be told over and over (and over) why neither one is interested in long term and recount all their past emotional woes lest we forget. Yet I will say that the final conflict is a product of clues we have been given all along, which was nice, instead of blowing up out of nowhere and they both soon realize that they need to clear the air about it. I appreciate that both of them think hard about what caused the rift and whether or not it’s worth solving.
In the end, I was happy to see them get together but I still had a few issues. The relationship had moved past merely lots of hawt sex but maybe not quite enough. Then there is how Lilly suddenly becomes the Voice of Reason in explaining the need to take a leap of faith in love when not long before she’d been just as confused and hurt as Lincoln. The secondary characters were fun and I almost enjoyed them more than the MC relationship. This one works well alone, Lincoln does a nice apology, time is allowed for the two of them to get to know each other better but I’m not sure I’ll continue with any more in the series. C+

What I Loved: The back and forth banter in The Best Man Problem was adorable! I feel like the book was comical and light in just the right places and it really kept me interested.
How I Felt: I found this story to be a fun, cute romance-read. It started off with such a fun scene and I was immediately drawn into the story and interested in the main character, Lily. At times I didn’t feel quite as invested in Lily and Lincoln, but at other times, I felt their connected and was very interested. While The Best Man Problem can be read as a stand-alone, it is the second book in a series, and I think I might have enjoyed it just a bit more if I had read the first book in the series. I will go back and read the first book now because the story was fun, the writing was good, and overall, this was worth the read.
To Read or Not To Read: If you enjoy light, comical stories of romance, with some somewhat steamy scenes, this is a good book for you. You don’t need to read the first book in the series, but if you are interested in the premise, I would suggest starting at the beginning!
I was provided an advanced reader’s copy of this book for free. I am leaving my honest, unbiased review voluntarily.

3.5 Stars
Lily has instituted a rule for herself about getting involved with anyone from any wedding she's working so of course the one time she decides to have a one night stand, he's the best man in the wedding she's currently working.
I liked Lily and Lincoln. There were parts of this book that just dragged for me and I found myself skimming a lot of chapters.

Can one night turn into forever?
Not if these two have anything to say about it...
...but then again, the heart wants what it wants.
One of a string of recent Entangled Publishing reads I've completed and yet another to add to the stack of OMG-THIS-WAS-SO-GOOD! Grant it, this one has a bit more spice than the last one, but I can't say anything else even slightly negative about it. I adored the lead characters and their interfering (but with so much love!) friends. Getting to know them only made the connection for both them and us stronger. Their time together before the wedding party was definitely a night to remember, but the wattage of sparks flying when they were in the same room (or even thinking about each other!) was electrifying! True, I wanted to let Mo make those "special brownies" for Lincoln (such a good friend, as is Pru!) with his reaction to something in particular, but...although I don't agree with said reaction, I get where he was coming from, and I think the way Lilly handled it showed so much strength, so much growth that though stinging at the time, it was totally worth it.
Definitely a series I'm glad I came to and one I will be checking into its first release post haste! Reading recommendation for ADULT readers of Contemporary Romance due to some content.

I had fun with Lilly and Lincoln in The Best Man Problem, the second story in the Mile High Happiness series. While I hadn’t read the first story in this series (something I plan to fix soon) I didn’t find myself lost in the least as what I felt I needed to know from the previous story was addressed in the dialogue between the characters.
On the surface, Lilly and Lincoln had one night of passion and that should have been it – but Lady Karma knows when to hit low at times and Lilly isn’t exactly thrilled to discover that Lincoln is the best man for the wedding she is currently planning and friends with both the bride and the groom. Talk about awkward. She has a strict, no negotiations rule of no involvement with anyone, particularly the best man, in a wedding she’s working. She’s learned the hard way from a past mistake and she’s not about to go down that road again. Lincoln isn’t exactly looking for a long term relationship, but he’d certainly like to break down that rule of Lilly’s.
They both have baggage, issues and still, the attraction is strong between them. What neither was expecting is for that attraction to begin to grow into something more, something worth fighting to keep – if they are willing to take the risks involved.
I liked them both although I thought Lilly was holding onto that past mistake a bit too tightly. It’s done and cannot be undone so move on… but that wasn’t my call to make. The banter between them is lively, the emotions there and getting deeper, and the secondary characters made their story believable, even relatable. A strong draw of this story is the deep connections Lilly has with her friends. It’s as much a girl’s tribe story as it is a romance, and I enjoyed both aspects of The Best Man Problem. If you’re in the mood for a good love story with likable characters, a few surprises, and a couple you’ll be rooting for to find their own happy ever after then you’ll want to pick up this one soon.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

The Best Man Problem by Mariah Ankenman was a story full of steamy chemistry and charm. Lilly Walsh is a wedding planner with her two friends and she knows not to mix business with pleasure. Then she has an amazing night with Lincoln Reid, only to discover he is the best man in an upcoming wedding she is working on. He is off limits now. But their chemistry and connection is undeniable. Can they find a way to be together? This was a fun and steamy story.
Happy reading!

It's a cute and fun story and I enjoyed reading it. I'm a fan of romantic comedies and this one is really entertaining, a must-read for contemporary fiction fans, especially those who enjoy a good laugh.

The Best Man Problem by Mariah Ankenman is a fun romance. I really enjoyed this book and will be looking for the author's other books. I love all the quirky characters that bring this book together.. If you want a funny, heartwarming quick read, I recommend this book.
