This book is so good, it's really intrigued me. My favorite book. This blends perfectly with romance, historical. Highly recommended

Naomi May und John Lowry.

AMY HARMON - WHERE THE LOST WANDER

A hauntingly beautiful story set on the Oregon Trail, about love, family dynamics and loss.

We follow the story of the newly widowed Naomi, whose healing journey takes place on the trail with her family by her side.
The historical fiction genre is quite far away from my usual modus operandi, but I have to admit the writing style was beautiful and the plotline was intiguing enough to keep me on my toes.
I would definitely recommend the story for anyone, who's interested in an epic story about hardship, finding love after loss and hope.

Where the Lost Wander by Amy Harmon is another well written, perfectly paced, emotional story that you won't be able to put down. A historical fiction set on the Oregon Trail with real, flawed characters who have great character growth. Expect to experience a wide range of emotions from hope to devastation among loss, grief, and an epic love story.

When I pick up an Amy Harmon books, she never disappoints. Set on the Oregon Trail is a woman's story of love and loss. The characters are fleshed out, the story feels as if you're right there and her writing is beautiful. Definitely for fans of 1883. Absolutely will recommend to all my friends.

I didn’t love this one. I didn’t care for any of the characters, so their stories left me rather cold.

This is a breath-taking epic, set on the beautifully realised Oregan Trail. It's a haunting love story and a consuming tale of family and loss.

The book opens on The Overland Trail in 1853, when protagonist Naomi May finds herself widowed at twenty years of age. As a means of healing, she sets off with her family for a life out West. On the trail, she forms an instant connection with John Lowry, a half-Pawnee man straddling two worlds and a stranger in both.

The story goes on to follow their life in a wagon train, where they are both drawn together yet held apart by their pasts. When tragedy strikes and Naomi is separated from John, they both are required to make significant sacrifices to be reunited and make peace with who they are.

First of all a big thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for sending me a copy of this book to read and review.

This had and intriguing plot and interesting characters. To be completely honest historical fiction is one of my least favourite genre. So this is purely not to my taste. If you enjoy historical fiction you should definitely give this one a try.

thank goodness for this book - for showing that historical fiction can be so much more than a WWII story.

whenever i think about the oregon trail, i will now remember of the hardships faced, the perseverance needed, the hope never lost, the heritage created, and the love that was found by the characters of this story.

this is a story of believing in a better life and searching for it, no matter the trials. this is a story about finding oneself when many other lives have been lost. but most noticeably, this is about finding a home within the heart of another person.

i am so in love this story.

This was my first Amy Harmon book and it will definitely not be my last. This is another case for me of "why did I wait so long to read this book." While this book was tad too close to the show 1883 at the beginning for me, it definitely deviated and kept my interest after the first 25%. I fell in love with the characters and writing in this story pretty hard. I now want to pick up every book that Amy Harmon has written.

This story of family, love, and survival is one that will stick with me forever.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for allowing me to read a copy of this book.

What an incredible story of love and hardship. Historical Fiction set on the Oregon Trail, admittedly not my normal genre, but an excellent read.

The characters are brought to life in this fantastic story, The struggles of the May family and the Indians were so heartbreaking to read about. It is 1853 and the May family are looking for a better life and they decide to go on the Oregon Trail. They join up with a wagon train. Namoni meets John Lowry and is attracted to him immediately. The trip is dangerous. Love and hardship is throughout this story. Many people took this trip and it is our history.
I was given and ARC from NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing. All options are my own.

This is my 3rd Amy Harmon book and I think I just have to admit that she isn't for me. Her stories are interesting - and there are many who love her. If the synopsis sounds good to you, then you should definitely go for it! My rating is purely personal.

I just did not feel pulled in to this one. I was intersted and invested for about the first 25% but as the story continued and the trail just kept going, I started losing interest. I liked John's story and the issues that he was facing - but even that was not enough to hold my attention and keep me hoping to flip pages.

I really wish I'd loved it more.

**Received a copy for review.*
This story felt really familiar to me. Not in a bad way but since i have watched 1889 recently, it followed that story in a lot of ways.
Since the first time I played Oregon Trail in grade school, I have wondered how people decided to abandon everything they knew to begin again in a harsh place they know nothing about.
Naomi is already a widow and is traveling with her family of origin as well as her married family. She does not particularly care for her in laws and would rather they were nowhere near her.
John Lowery is 1/2 Pawnee, 1/2 white. He is called two feet since he belongs in both worlds but is accepted by neither. He has no idea what to do with the force of nature that is Naomi.
On the trail they face a lot of adversity. She loses her parents, a sister in law and one brother. There is a lot of tragedy in the story. There is also a lot of survival and love.

An absolutely beautiful, sensitive, compelling love story set on the Oregon Trail in the mid-1850s. Well-written and researched, with characters who captivate. Highly recommended.

Nobody writes historical fiction like Amy Harmon. The pacing was amazing, the story thought provoking. We see the best and worst of humanity through her realistic facts. Definitely a book that will make you cry big ugly tears by the end.

This book broke my heart and then built it back up again. Amy has a way with words that I can not describe. Her story telling is so poetic and feels like silk. All I can say is read this and all other books she has written.

I couldn't get enough of this story. I love it when I learn from Amy's books. History was my most unfavored subject. If I could've learned it this way my GPA would've faired much better. Plus the love story is amazing. I'm always in awe of Amy's talents.

Another slam dunk!

This was a solid historical fiction. Not my favorite and it felt a little slow at times but I still enjoyed it.
