Author Leo J. Maloney http://leojmaloney.com published the novella “Deep Cover” in 2020. Mr. Morgan has published more than a dozen novels. This is the eighth book in his Dan Morgan Thriller series.
.I categorize this book as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of violence. The primary characters are Black Ops agents Dan Morgan and Peter Conley.
Morgan and Conley are in Turkey to free a scientist from being held in prison. They are posing undercover as arms dealers. They have a deadline for their mission. They need to extract him before his missile guidance system knowledge can be traded. North Korea wants it in exchange for nuclear weapon secrets.
After a shootout with police and a high-speed chase, they find themselves held in the same prison. The plan is for their other team members to compromise the prison computer system. That should facilitate their escape. Of course, nothing ever goes by the plan.
I enjoyed the 2+ hours I spent reading this 114-page thriller. This is one of those thrillers that is fun to read. Just don’t think too much about the plot or reality. This is the fourth book by Maloney that I have read (Rogue Commander, Dark Territory, and War Shadows). The others were also in the Morgan series and have been consistently enjoyable. This one was a little shorter than previous books in the series. I like the chosen cover art. I rate this novella as a 3.8 (rounded up to a 4) out of 5.

Loved this book. Plenty of devious surprises and crackling suspense, along with interesting characters. Just the sort of book to cause a lack of sleep, but I won't complain! Highly recommended.

Starting with book 8 is a chance that reader might not be able to catch up with the characters and their back ground. Leo Maloney writes a very easy political thriller for readers to follow. The story is a little to unbelievable at times as the story makes it way from countries all over the world.
The story doesn't stand out among so many different great political thrillers filling book stores.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of Leo J. Maloney Deep Cover.
Wow what a brilliant and action packed novella! It felt like I was watching a movie. Well written with action from the beginning to the end.
a Scientist from NASA, Dr. Erdem, has been thrown in jail in Turkey. He was working on nuclear power systems for satellites, and deep space probes and the Americans want him back. Our 2 hero's Morgan and Conley will have to think on their feet to achieve their objective and with some help from their colleagues this makes for some entertaining reading.
Thank you to Netgally and Kensington Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
A really good but really quick read. The premise is Morgan and Connelly need to break into a Turkish prison to help a nuclear scientist escape so that he knowledge is kept from the bad guys. A good book that takes some artistic license to make sure everything goes right. Putting that aside, the action and improvisation skills under fire from the heroes make it a worthwhile read.
Thank you Netgalley, Leo J. Maloney and Kensington Books for the ARC for my honest opinion.
Deep Cover is moderately interesting. Half-way through I put it down for several days as it just wasn't that compelling. It's about two agents who go undercover as prisoners to help free a guy with nuclear knowledge. Once the escape begins, there is more action. I did wonder, though, how they pulled off all of the super tricks to succeed. A bit of license is allowed.
Thanks, NetGalley and Kensington Books, for the ARC.
This was a homerun for Leo J. Maloney. What a great book Deep Cover is. It's like everything you want with Dan Morgan at his best. Thanks to #Netgalley and #KensingtonBooks for giving me the opportunity to read this exciting thriller with all kinds of problems and solutions in it. I really like and recommend this one.
