Fantastic recipes that are easy to meal-prep. Loved these.
Many thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
As someone who lives alone, I appreciate a cookbook that apportions things for a smaller group. Even though I like doing meal prep, I just can't face eating the same thing for the entire week. Recipes look healthy and manageable. I could use more photos, but I like the equipment lists, step-by-step charts, and tips for reheating and freezing.
This cookbook's photos are sure to make you hungry! Hopefully, they will also inspire you to try some of the recipes. There are suggestions for every meal of the day plus snacks. A few of the recipes included are for Mushroom Asparagus Quiche with Quinoa Crust, Vietnamese Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Skillet Zucchini Lasagna and Angel Hair Pasta with Herb Roasted Asparagus and Halibut. The book includes shopping lists and needed equipment. The recipes themselves appear to be clear and easy to follow. There are additional sections in the book on Measurement Conversions, Resources and References as well as an introduction that is packed with information. All in all, this looks like a great cookbook.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this read in exchange for an honest review.
This is my new go to cookbook. So many great ideas delicious recipes.Well organized well laid out. Will be gifting this wonderful book to friends#netgalley#mealprepfortwo
This cookbook contains easy-to-prepare recipes for healthy meals for two. It's organized in a way that allows you to prep a week's meals ahead of time. I especially liked the schedule graphic that shows how to organize your time when prepping. Each of the eight weekly meal plans has a theme, for example, Mediterranean Staycation (featuring Mediterranean foods) or Beat the Heat (for hot weather). Recipes are easy to follow with nicely organized information. While there are some photos, it would be a better use of white space to include a few more on pages where there is room. Most people these days are attracted to a dish by its appearance, not simply by words.
This is a fantastic book that is exceptionally informative and organized. The tips for fast easy meal preparation are excellent and the recipes are delicious and easy to prepare and store. The tips fir storage and pre prepare for the week are incredibly helpful and I highly recommend it. I received this book from NetGalley and Calisto Publishing for an honest review.
This book was received as an ARC from Callisto Media - Rockridge Press in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
We always get questions about quick and easy cookbooks that you can make for just two people that have healthy, delicious, and money saving recipes in them and I can not wait to share this book with our community. I am always so fond of what you can make with the ingredients you have in your fridge and pantry. All of the recipes look so easy and delicious and I can not wait to try them especially the lazy shakshuka and the loaded lox roll ups and I know our cooking demo group will love this book from beginning to end.
We will consider adding this title to our Cookbook collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
I loved that the author shared tips in the beginning for budget savings and storage methods. There was even little tips on the bottom of most recipes on how to store the food or how to refresh it as a leftover.
The author payed out each weeks good ideas for you. She also included a shopping list for that week.
There were lots of recipes that sounded great and healthy that I know my husband will eat (isn’t that the true test?).
This book was such an incredible resource. I love it so much and plan to make a few more recipes for my husband and I. Perfection!
Meal Prep for Two is a tutorial and recipe guide for weight loss written and curated by Casey Seiden. Released 15th Oct 2019 by Callisto on their Rockridge Press imprint, it's 190 pages and available in paperback and ebook format.
The book follows a logical format. Chapter 1 gives some background on the process and the benefits of meal-prep and planning as well as a very general layman-accessible discussion of the mechanics of prepping, safe food handling, and the helpful equipment which will support the organization and storage. There is a lot of good advice in these chapters which is applicable to any meal prep and planning sessions, not just for the recipes in this collection.
The meal plan chapters include a surprisingly varied selection of multiple day to weekly meal plans with different tastes and representing different world cuisines: Italian, American, Asian fusion, and more.
The recipes have their ingredients listed bullet style in a sidebar. Measurements are given in US standard only. Special tools and ingredients are also listed, along with yields and cooking directions. The ingredients are all easily sourced at any moderately well stocked grocery store. The author has provided weekly plan shopping lists which are very handy. Nutritional information for the servings is provided in a footer at the bottom of each recipe.
It's worth noting that the ebook format has a handy interactive table of contents as well as interactive links and references throughout. I've really become enamored of ebooks with interactive formats lately. The book also includes a short author bio, and a metric conversion chart, as well as interactive resources, supplies, and references lists. There is no index. For Kindle Unlimited subscribers, this book is included in the KU subscription library to borrow and read for free.
My one small quibble with the book is that the recipes are mostly not photographed. There are some photos, and they're clear and attractive, but they only represent about 5% of the recipes.
Well done. This book would make a great gift/housewarming for someone looking for sensible recipes as well as fans of food prep planning / batch cooking.
Four stars.
