Such a nice, easy read, everything I hoped for upon my return to Tanglewood. This new title in the series is lovely, and Lilac Mills creates such realistic, messy, uplifting, cringe-worthy moments for these characters. I loved the details in everything weddings, as Mills has such a gift for description and bringing everything to life. Definitely a comfy read for a snowed-in day! I'll be looking out for the next books by Lilac Mills. She's a find.
I loved this story from the Tanglewood series. The characters are so likable and the storyline engaging. The interaction between them flows smoothly. Even the people you want to hate!
There were parts that made me laugh and some that touched my heart.
An all together great read. I highly recommend this book.
Thank you Lilac Mills, Canelo and NetGalley for this advance copy for my honest feedback.
Loved this book 5* all the way I'm waiting to buy it.
Loved the ending I so wanted to get my wedding dress from there.
Lilac mills is a new author for me but from now on I'm gonna read more books by her.
The story had me hooked from page one.
Absolutely loved this book! A great easy read full to the brim with real life potential and emotions. Made a very dull train journey much more fun and light hearted!
I enjoyed this story as much as I enjoyed the other books in this series. The plot is well crafted and flows, the cast of characters is fleshed and interesting, the setting lovely.
It was a fun and entertaining read, recommended.
Many thanks to Canelo and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
Another wonderful book in the Tangelwood series by Lilac Mills! I absolutely adored reading this one! It's a page-turner. It's a cozy read with nice characters, a very good storyline, a nice romance and lots of events! I give this book a 4 stars out of 5! I want to read everything by Lilac Mills! She is a very good chick-lit writer!!!
A wedding shop story with difference.
We are not reading about the shop but the seamstress, who does not own the shop, but makes and designs the gowns - for a pittance due to a mean shop owner.
We have a cute village which emphasises just how remote some of our Welsh ( and Welsh Border) villages can be, lacking the amenities of travel if you don’t have a car, with rare and unreliable buses.
Overall a sweet story within the genre but no real bite and a rather wishy-washy heroine.
Easily my favourite book of this Tanglewood series - it has adorable animals, wedding dresses, a really lovely child, a fabulous book boyfriend and Edie who is just trying to make ends meet and provide for her son.
First up I really need to say how much I really disliked both Moira, Edie's boss at the Wedding dress shop, and also Tia's mother in-law Julia. If they both such frustrating people, then Tia would never had to ask Edie to make her dream wedding dress come true, and and Edie may not have ended up in the sticky situation she was in.
Although it is thanks to Tia, that Edie gets to spend time with James and its clear even if neither of them seem to realise it, that there is a connection between them, and that it could be only a matter of time.
James is fascinating, he is so keen on wildlife and conservation, and his choices of locations to take Edie on dates are rather different. Although personally I'm not sure I would have fancied visiting an apiary no matter how much I may want to get to know the man.
And I just loved Mary, she was adorable and some of the scenes involving her were both funny and hare-raising.
Although it reads well as a standalone, I started this mere hours after I finished book 2 in the series and I'm so glad I did, as it made a lovely change to read books in a series one after another, thus instantly feeling at home with the characters, the recurring characters (Betty is such a tonic!), the location and of course the engaging writing style.
I really did enjoy every single moment I spent with Edie and James, and thoroughly enjoyed this book which I raced through in under a day.
Thank you to Canelo and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
A sweet romance with humor, great characters, and a bit of misunderstanding. I hadn't read this author before and I am glad to have found this series. I will definitely be reading more in the future. There is a charm to the story that makes you feel like Tanglewood is a real place that you would love to visit.
My thanks to NetGalley and publisher Canelo for the ARC.
I enjoyed this nice, easy read. The writing and dialogue flowed well and the characters really came to life.
Edie Adams is a talented wedding dress designer and seamstress, working for Mrs Carrington at Moira's Wedding Shop in a country village. She and her eight year old son Danny live in a rented cottage opposite the shop.
William Tonbridge (son of the Lord) at the Manor House is getting married to Tia and Mrs Carrington takes Edie with her to discuss her wedding dress requirements. William's best friend James Preece and himself are conservationists and met at school; James on a scholarship and William with his family money. James, recently returned from working abroad, has sunk his savings and all his regular wages into a derelict farmhouse and smallholding but Edie makes assumptions about the state of each man's wealth, leading to misunderstandings and mistakes when James seems to begin to take an interest in her and her son.
Meanwhile, Mrs Carrington and Lady Tonbridge all but ignore Tia's wishes when considering her dress, so Tia seeks help from Edie.
I liked the story; at times it was rather comedic; my only negative comment would be that some passages explaining conservation topics read more like a lecture than an essential part of the story.
Lovely book, great story, fun and interesting characters. Story flowed really well, and i got really caught up in it and had to keep reading until the end. Really enjoyed reading it.
A light, easy, quick read. I liked most of the characters and the setting. The story was very rushed at the end but good overall.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.
I enjoyed this light read, it didn’t take long to get through to the main romance of the story. The main characters are Eddie,James and Danny with sub characters whom make the story too. It’s about a wedding dress maker and an a conversationalist which you wouldn’t put together. A good edition to the series too! Would love to read more on the characters on this one and wee how it all develops. Thanks Net Galley for the early read .
I always enjoy being in Tanglewood and enjoy reading novels by this author. It was an easy read that I flew through over the Christmas period and found myself wishing it was longer.
The characters and the location was fab, and I liked that there was past characters involved (even just a little bit), but this could easily be read as a stand-alone.
A great read.
I love it when I read a romance book and also learn interesting stuff. In this case, about wildlife and environment. Bats are awesome, beavers are awesome, and wildflowers are awesome.
This was such a cute read! The start's a little slow, and it took some effort to connect with the characters... Basically, until the bunny appears.
"The Tanglewood Wedding Shop", as the title suggests, is about Edie, a single mother and a seamstress and designer of dresses who works in the only Wedding Shop in the town of Tanglewood, and has an awful boss, the owner of the shop and a real bitch.
She goes behind the back of her boss to make the dress for a bride with a controlling mother in law, and falls for the best man, James, a cinnamon roll that works in protecting wildlife and convincing others to do the same.
Their relationship develops slowly and so, so sweetly, it makes me sigh to remember it.
A book about love, trust, and dreams.
An enjoyable light hearted read, although the ending felt a bit rushed. Lots of jumping to conclusions which I found frustrating!
I didn’t realise this was part of a series, perfectly easy to follow despite a few references to previous stories.
The star character was Mary the rabbit- causing some really enjoyable images and helping build character development!
What a super fun and cute read in this series. It was nice to see how the characters were navigating their own struggles while falling in love. It was interesting to have them as normal and not rich like the other aspects of the book. I liked this and would recommend it.
Absolutely adore these books, just happiness and joy. I devour them and then I’m sad they’re over. Edie and James are so lovely, all the main characters in these books are just so well written, heartwarming characters. If you want a book to make you smile this book and the previous two will definitely make you warm inside. I hope there are more books to come because I love them.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
A lovely uplifting story with a few unexpected twists and turns. The ending was a little abrupt but it was a thoroughly enjoyable read and I will read more from this author.
This is the third book in the Tanglewood Village series and follows Edie, a single mom who works at the wedding shop in the village, and James, a member of the upper-crust. Edie is secretly designing a second wedding dress for society bride Tia, who is not happy with her mother-in-law's choice. When she meets best man James, there's an immediate spark between them. But they're from completely different worlds and Edie is convinced that their relationship will never work.
The Tanglewood Wedding Shop by Lilac Mills is a heartwarming and romantic story, with realistic characters, a lovely setting, and a sweet romance. The plot is engaging, well-paced, and kept me hooked until the last page. If you have read the previous books in this series, then you'll be happy to see some familiar faces in this book. I enjoyed getting to know the residents of Tanglewood village and will be reading more books in this series. If you enjoy cozy romances, then I highly recommend this.
Thank you to NetGalley and Canelo for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
