Khalid came and went quite often in his chosen role of Omerabads science and technology liaison, but he was still attuned to the rhythms of the palace. Khalid’s attache was Zion and he told Khalid King Rashid was hosting a meeting. Khalod had been flying for most of the morning. He had just spent a month in germany. The trip went well and later in the year there would be a cultural exchange. Unlike his brother rashid who was the king and his brother Samin who was the official liaison to the desert tribes. Khalid didn’t have any traditional responsibilities, so he was shaped them to his interest . It was a job well done. Khalid had to say hi to his brothers than he saw two women standing by the door. Nobody noticed when Khalid came in the room. That was good …. Because something caught his attention. The distinct rhythm of English made him turn his head. The two women wore brightly colored dresses that struck a balance between the tribe’s traditional clothing and city fashion. She was was clearly there with the members of the tribe. The woman in red flashed her gaze to his and his heart skipped a beat. She was stunning. Rashid saw Khalid and came toward him saying “ You made it back” Khalid wondered what was going on his brothers acted like Khalid’s presence at this meeting was necessary, but nobody had added it to his schedule. Chief Habil had come to propose a reconciliation between his tribe and the royal family. He was the only one in his family available for marriage. Khalid was told by Rashid it would be entirely Khalid’s decision. Khalid said to go on that he’d like to hear the chief's proposal in full so he could he could consider it. There was no way he’d consider this but this was a diplomatic meeting. Rashid said the benefits would be substantial. It would unify the country. It would provide stability and safety for all their people. It would also put the country in a better position for the cultural exchanges Khalid had been working on. Zainab was American but her mother died from cancer and she came to spend the last two years with her father's tribe in the desert of Omerabad. Zainab had tried to fit in. It hadn't always been enough. She had spent too much of her childhood in the United States to ever shake the Western influence. Zainab had visited her father during the summer but two months was never enough to feel totally acclimated. But her sister Afifa loved another man and sneaked away with him. When the chief said he had his daughter Madina who was only a teen. Khalid brought up the chief’s eldest daughter - who he was attracted to- Zainab. Khalid suggested he and Zainab consider an arranged marriage . Khalid did ask her to marry him and she said yes. Khalid and Zainab were engaged.
I loved this book. Of course Ms North again wrote another greta book with a sheikh. I loved Khalid and Zaian together and how they interacted. Also the mix of East and west in Zainab. I was so happy when Khalid finally told the chief what he thought. This was an easy romantic read with a little drama shot in. I loved the closeness Khalid and his brothers enjoyed. I loved the pace and the plot. I read this in one setting. This caught my attention from the first page and held it until the last page. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and i highly recommend it

I love a good romantic story, especially set in the middle east. When the third son of the retired sheikh comes home from business dealings, he finds talks underway for an arranged marriage to someone who didn't want to be married to him. Nothing personal, she was in love with someone else. The story moved along quickly and it was fun seeing Khalid and Zoey fall in love. A good love story. I got this book from NetGalley for an honest review

Her half-sister has been selected for an arranged marriage to the youngest brother of the royal family of Omirabad. She is in love with someone else and flees with her true love. Zainib is the oldest of the sisters, but because of her western ways, her father feels she is less desirable.

Initially Khalid is resistant to the idea of an arranged marriage until he meets Zainab. He likes everything about her. Her father Javeed is determined to keep them apart. But Khalid and Zainab find a way to spend time together.

Khalid is way more patient then I'd be with Zainab's father. I think respect is the key to this book. I love it!
