This is a fast paced edge of you seat read that will keep you guessing right up intill the last page this book kept me up all night I just couldn't put it down
So many secrets...so many lies...this family is seriously dysfunctional! Sheryl Browne's latest book is a domestic thriller that left me trusting...nobody!!!
I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.
Fantastic, gripping and thrilling as all Sheryl Brownes titles are - she has yet to disappoint - a good fun thriller!
An incredible read, gripping and thrilling. This is one of the quickest books I've ever read, in that I raced through it in record speed. Always a mark of a fantastic book!
As thrillers go this way a good one and definitely stood out. I’ve enjoyed this author’s writing in the past and this was no exception, kept my attention and a good storyline. Would recommend
This is an amazing suspenseful domestic thriller
The characters are complex and well rounded.
The writing is so good except I did guess the twist. A great book
Well that was different!
This was a really great read.
I was unsure but from the start to the end I was hooked. This dealt with Alzheimer’s in really well manner which really made a change and was very sensitive on this topic.
Good characters, well written, goo plot, great twists and turns throughout.

I love Sheryl Browne, her books are always easy and suspenseful reads!
This story contains so many lies and secrets, you just don’t know who to trust!
Claire receives a text message from someone called Sophie that says, “You don’t know me, but I’m your sister”. What would you do if you found out you have a long-lost sister?!
While Claire is in the middle of her marriage falling apart, she befriends her newfound sister, and then the secrets and lies keep you on your toes!
Even though I had a good idea of what was going on from the start, there were still some shocks along the way, including the unexpected conclusion. This psychological thriller is well-paced and well-written! Perfect read for book clubs!
Sheryl Browne is a Bookouture FAV. We have read and reviewed several of her books and have not been disappointed yet! The Favorite Sister was a story that slowly built up to a plot twist that you may have thought you guessed but only because Sheryl Browne wanted you to think you did. You think your family is slightly off their rockers.... you ain’t got nothing on Claire’s family! This is a fabulous psychological thriller! Curious to know if you are #teamclaire #teamluke or #teameveryoneiscrazy! #bookobsession4 #bookblogger #twogirlsandabookobsession
Claire is going through a lot - an unfaithful husband and unstable marriage, a 4-year-old daughter who is sick and a father with dementia. If that isn't enough, she receives a text message from a girl named Sophie, who claims to be her half sister. While she is skeptical, how can she not be willing to connect with a long lost sister? In getting closer and closer to Sophie, is she all she claims/seems to be?
Claire's acceptance and trust of a complete stranger was a little far fetched for me - even if this woman is claiming to be related. Also, she then lets her move in with her family?!? That's just asking for trouble. In fact, I found all of the characters to be annoying and unlikable (OK, Ella was an exception). Claire is just so gullible and self centered, Luke (the husband) is a total jerk and Sophie - BLECH. Because of this I had a bit of trouble with this book, but the overall storyline was pretty good and a fast read at that.
Thanks to Sheryl Browne, Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC.
The Perfect Sister Sheryl Browne was a great read. From the moment I read the first few pages I was hooked. I also feel this story discussed Alzheimer’s in a sensitive manner. Great twists and turns throughout.
Claire is married and spends her days trying to be the perfect wife to husband Luke, and mother to her adorable daughter, Ella. On top of that, she also spends her days caring for her ailing father. However, when Claire discovers that her husband Luke may have been having an affair, her whole world begins crumbling. Claire is rightfully devastated, and looking for a shoulder to lean on. Enter Sophie. Claire randomly receives a message from a woman named Sophie, who claims that she is Claire's long-lost sister. At first Claire is skeptical, and her dementia-ridden father is not able to help her verify Sophie's claim. However, when Claire meets Sophie, she is instantly drawn in by Sophie's friendly and engaging nature. Most importantly, Ella quickly becomes enamored with Sophie. However, it's not long before Claire begins to question Sophie's motives. Does Sophie have something to hide? When a terrible incident occurs involving Ella, Claire begins to seriously question whether she has done the right thing in allowing Sophie to become a part of their lives. As Claire desperately searches for answers, Sophie becomes more and more enmeshed in their lives. Will Claire be able to figure out the truth before it's too late?
Decent read. A fairly predictable take with a "Single White Female" vibe. This was my first novel by author Sheryl Browne, and I would definitely give another novel a shot as well.
Claire has so much to deal with. Her father has early onset dementia and requires constant supervision, her daughter has a health condition that requires extra care and somehow still is trying to find time to dedicate to her relationship with her husband! They have moved into her fathers home to make it easier to care for him but this is causing a strain on her marriage.
She receives a message from a woman claiming to be her long lost half sister, Sophie and it seems she has appeared just when Claire desperately needs someone to talk to. That is until Claire starts to question if she should take it slowly and get to know Sophie before she lets her into her life!

The family secret - Sheryl Browne
This book has been on my netgalley shelf for around 6 months (terrible - I know)
So I finally decided to read the book.
Claire has always been the loving and devoted wife who would do anything to keep her family together wanting to give her daughter, Ella, the upbringing she didn't have.
Looking after her Father who has Alzheimers disease. Claire's father has had a few outbursts and confusion bursts so she has no choice other than to put him in a care home.
Discovering, Luke, her husband has been having an affair. Claire is left distraught not know where she stands.
Claire is contacted on facebook by a woman called Sophie "you don't know me, but I'm your sister". Claire finally has a sibling she has always wanted and dreamed of.
The relationship between Claire, Ella and Sophie seems to blossom quickly. Sophie is even asked to move into their family home.
Claire starts to wonder if Sophie is who she says she is...
There are so many secrets and lies in this one family.
The book is a quick and easy read, i managed to finish the book within a week.
I felt sympathy towards Claire and Ella from the start and throughout the whole storyline and really liked them both as characters.
Learning about Luke's affair, I had an instant hate towards his character but towards the end, my feelings changed also felt sympathy for him too.
I felt the ending could have had more twists and turns and I was definitely expecting a bit more.
I had to DNF and was not able to finish before the archive date.
Thank you Netgalley for the free eArc in exchange for an honest review.
This was a page turning psychological thriller that I didn’t want to put down. It gripped me from the very beginning. I loved it.
I loved this book - it had all the twists and turns and kept me on the edge of my seat! I did not want to put this down, so I finished it in one sitting. Interesting premise, superb writing, and unexpected plot lines - would definitely recommend!
laire has her hands full taking care of her dad who has Alzheimer's . On top of that she suspects her husband Luke is cheating on her. When she is contacted by her half sister Sophie, Claire is happy to have someone in her life to talk to … but does Sophie really have Claire’s best interest at heart or an ulterior motive in contacting Claire
The Perfect Sister by Sheryl Browne is a dark domestic thriller . It is a fast paced well written book full of secrets , lies and deceit which is made even more interesting due to the unlikable characters and a surprise ending that I didn't see coming
I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.
