Ansley’s Big Bake off is the first book in The Daniels Sisters series. This is a Christian fiction story geared to young readers (8 to 11) who enjoy chapter books. There is a lot of scripture and faith in this book, so it won't be for everyone. Ansley and her three sisters are dealing with a lot. They recently lost their mother, have moved to a new home and will be attending a new school. Ansley is particularly nervous about making friends and fitting in. It turns out she has more in common with one of her new classmates than she originally realized. The characters are interesting and easy to connect to. the Daniels' family are warm, kind, caring, smart, loving and full of integrity. Their father and aunt teach them with gentleness, guidance and reference to scripture. This is an uplifting and inspirational story that I recommend to all Christian families, especially those with young girls.

This book was so great! I loved the sisterhood and how these sisters try to obercome the dearh of their mother, which is by far way too complicated. But important. And with beautiful messages!

(Just be informed that there is a lot of religious quotes. I was not bothered at all by it but as I did not see it coming and I know it might disturb some)

I had a great time!

I set out to read this book because I am familiar with the Pitts family and the loss of their mom, and I am always looking for easy to read chapter books for the girls that I tutor. I love being able to recommend books that have a solid uplifting message.
When my daughter was younger (she is 22 now!) read read Faithgirlz books. These books and the American Girl books were her favorites.
This book was so reminiscent of those books. I love that it is written by and features diverse young women. It is definitely a series I would recommend to the young girls in my life!

This is just the sort of books I enjoyed reading as a tween and to be honest, I do still enjoy them.
This book features some sweet, fun characters that girls can relate to and share their adventures with.
I truly loved the faith content. I find that one of the best parts of this book. Especially for young girls, I think this element is important.
The illustrations were fun and imaginative, something I enjoyed! I always found it fun to have illustrations in my book so that I could imagine more clearly what the characters and scenes look like. Very fun!
All in all, I think this would be a very fun book for young girls to read, as well as learn from.

3.5 stars ⭐⭐⭐💫

This story is heavy on religious reference and may not appeal to everyone for this side of it but it also focuses on being kind, treating others how you like to be treated, thinking about other people and their feelings and supporting each other as a family. I loved the storyline and it’s importance and think it’s a great book for 8 – 12 year olds.

Ansley and her three sisters just lost their mum unexpectedly and now they have moved house and have to start at a new school. While it is mostly easy for Ansley to make new friends in her new school, Taylor seems to dislike her and Ansley doesn’t understand why.
It seems Taylor is jealous of Ansley coming in and taking all the attention of her best friend, but is it something deeper down that is affecting Taylor and her behaviour ? Will Taylor realise that she actually has something in common with Ansley than she realises and will that change Taylor’s attitude?

Thank you Netgalley, Zonderkidz and authors for the review copy in return for an honest review.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This is a sweet book about a group of sisters who have recently lost their mum and moved to a new house with new schools to boot. It is a book about family and turning to one another and leaning on each other in life through the good or bad.
This book has quite a lot of religious quotes and references which I wasn't too sure about.

This was a lovely book with heavy family oriented and religious tones. Deals with loss and how to lean on family to overcome hardships.
