This book mostly glosses over the obvious. To be happy we must love ourselves and embrace our flaws and recognize our strengths. Sometimes it is easier said then done and it took the author many years and a great deal of internalizing to get there. But the advice felt more like a compilation of all the things to say not necessarily how she got there.

There would be a long chapter in all the ways she felt like a failure and no one understood... Then tada fast forward a few years and she has achieved her goal and recognized her success... Well hurray I guess.

I just didn't feel a connection to this book or the personal storytelling behind it all. I'm not saying it doesn't have some helpful tidbits but not enough to count this as a true win in the self help category.

The full title had me excited for this book, but it was a complete disappointment. I was put off at the very beginning when the author bragged about how young and attractive looking she is, but I preserved. I did eventually give up on the book though because the writing is stilted and awkward. Goodreads rating: 1 star (I did not like it.)
