This was the first novel I have read by Dani Atkins and it will not be the last! I am a new fan!

Though the summary sounded intriguing and interesting to me, I was not expecting the story to be what it was. This is not a bad thing by any means... I was completely immersed in this book and felt compelled to read as much as I could in each sitting. It was so emotional and gripping, the writing was flawless, and the characters were perfect.

The style reminds me of a cross between Jodi Picoult and Jojo Moyes, two of my favorite authors. Beautiful and oh so emotional novel.

A Million Dreams, the latest from Dani Atkins, isn’t perfect but it did give me all the feels.

Pete and Izzy’s eight-year-old son Noah is their whole life. When they receive a surprise phone call from the fertility center that helped them have Noah, it’s surely nothing to worry about. But what they learn from that call sends their dreams for their son crashing down around them.

While I didn’t find the plot new or particularly fascinating, Atkins created characters that I needed to see through their circumstances. Atkins wrote a story that I could see from both sides and more than a week after finishing the book, still don’t know which side I would choose. The choices and the emotions are packed into this aspect of the story.

As I mentioned, this book isn’t perfect. I can’t fully explain that statement because that would involve giving spoilers, but there were two things that bothered me. First, I would have liked to see more exploration of a relationship between two characters and secondly, the ending needed an epilogue. As far as the relationship, I needed more details, more something to make it feel real. Regarding the ending, if you follow my reviews, you know I’m that reader that wants the author to spell it ALL out. This was one of those cases. The story ends well, but I needed that epilogue to give me that last scene. How did it go? I needed those details.

Again, without trying to give spoilers I could really relate to another portion of the story. As a mom with a child with medical issues, this part of the story gutted me. The feels, y’all!

This is the third book that I’ve read by Atkins and she has yet to fail in telling a great story. Add this one to your list. May it give you all the feels too.

Honestly, the cover alone gave me the indication that I might be greatly affected by the story. I was right. You have one woman desperate for a child who loses her husband in death. In Vitro was unsuccessful while he was alive, and eventually she decides to try what is her last and only time. Imagine her shock when she discovers that her eggs were implanted in another woman and that a child has been born as a result of that. No chance to have a baby.

Then you have a second woman, mother to said child, and child becomes terminally ill. Well, worlds collide because the woman without a child fights for said child in court. Should she take the child away from his parents? Or will she walk away and never have the child that would tie her to her deceased husband?

Was I vague enough? Too specific possibly? I hope so in either case. Why? This book comes highly recommended (although the requisite box of tissues is not supplied) and is a must-read for any woman who has ever loved a child. A Million Dreams could be called "A Million Pieces" because that is what it did to my heart. Kudos to Dani Atkins for writing such an effective story.

The text on the cover already gave it away : this was going to be a heartbreaking story. And it was : heartbreakingly beautiful.

Normally when I read I curl up on the sofa with my dog and have a cold or hot drink handy, but from the first sentence I knew that it would be a good idea to add a box of tissues too. 

Clever me, because the sad and the happy tears alternately ran down my face.

Mistakes happen, because we are all human and not perfect. Some can be rectified without causing too much trouble. Others can result in irreparable damage.

Sometimes it takes an enormous amount of strength to stay, sometimes it takes even more to walk away. Do you want what's best for you no matter what the consequences are or do you step back and leave it be?

The author is a great storyteller and she made it very hard for me to put the book down. An unforgettable tale about one of the strongest emotions : unconditinal love. 5 stars.

A Million Dreams was a heart-wrenching tale that was also heart-warming. Atkins writes incredibly well and creates a very modern and realistic story that could have been ripped from the headlines of any paper in the world.

Izzy and Beth are both entirely sympathetic. They both are caring women who have what it takes to be wonderful mothers and loving wives. They've had a lot to go through to get to their dreams. Izzy almost made it but has hit a rough spot. Beth is far from the happy life she envisioned.

I loved watching Izzy and Pete with Noah and each other. There is genuine love there even if it's not working correctly right now. Izzy admits she was too worried about Noah but seems to have found a way to not hover so closely.

Beth and Liam have a very unique meet-cute and a rocky start. Their relationship is slow moving as they're both still grieving. Their shared past and kind natures make them a good match and they're both good with the pace of their friendship. Until Liam gets a bit crazed for awhile.

I cried so much because Atkins does a fabulous job with the emotions of all those involved. It's slow coming but the HEAs are worth it and rewarding. I'm glad I took a chance on a new to me writer because I really loved this book.

Warning : this is a two box of tissues book. Heartbreaking and heartwarming, sad and affirming, every nightmare and every dream. Loved it once I was able to finish it!

I loved this story from page 1. I found it hard to put it down. It was written in such a way that it captures a mother’s love for her child. A mother will do anything for the health and welfare of their child. Izzy and Pete 8 yrs ago dreams came true after lots of heartache and expense dealing with infertility. Noah is a beautiful little boy with serious allergies that keep Izzy on edge and over protective.

Beth has suffered a great loss and is now ready to give life another chance. Both Beth and Izzy’s lives will be affected by a phone call leaving them with impossible situations and unbelievable choices.
I highly recommend this book. It will touch your heart and leave you wondering what choice would you have made.

A Million Dreams by Dani Atkins is a beautifully told story of a mixup that happened when one female is planted with the wrong baby and the mistake is not discovered until nine years later. Dani Atkins goes into great detail about the two mothers feelings. I really think Dani Atkins tells the story the way the feelings would be. What would you do if you were in the situation? So much kindness, love and generosity. I see this book being made into movie. Read the book and see if it doesn’t pull at your heartstrings.

I started this book thinking I knew what heart wrenching situation I would be reading about. I was actually pretty surprised it didn't go the way I'd assumed. I felt for both Beth and Izzy and cannot imagine ever being in their places. The book alternates between both women's perspectives. My heart broke for both of them. I really appreciated the ending as well. This is a book about the love every mother has for their children. I look forward to reading more by Dani Atkins

Wow. That’s all I can say about this amazing book. It’s so heartbreaking and wonderful at the same time. I loved the characters and their stories. I felt for both Izzy and Beth and the unbelievable decisions they faced. I don’t know what I would have done in their situations but everything seemed to work out as it should. I loved this book!

Beth and Izzy seemingly have nothing in common, and their lives may never have. intersected if it hadn't been for a life altering mistake. This book certainly was an emotional roller coaster. Beth is saddled with a heartbreaking and unprecedented decision, not once but twice.

I think many readers will find this difficult to put down.

This is the first time I read a book by Dani Atkins, so I was excited when I received a copy of A Million Dreams. The book is told from two perspectives, which I always enjoy. Both women, Beth and Izzy, are likable and enjoyable, and I found myself emotional as I saw the lengths they would go to for their son. My only complaint is that I found the book a bit predictable.

Wow! What an incredible story about the love of a mother, no matter what the definition of mother is. As a mom myself, this book was heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. I highly recommend this latest by Dani Atkins.

What a fantastic book. Lived Beth and Izzy. This one pulls you in and doesn't disappoint. Tears a few times just such an emotional read. Well written. Didn't want it to end...want more.

A Million Dreams by Dani Atkins, published by bookouture, is a full length, stand alone novel packed full with drama and sacrifice.
Beth is a successful businesswoman, her florist shop is thriving. But karma has a way to throw wrenches her way, you wouldn't believe it. I will not spoiler here, really, only so much - one of the tragedies Beth had to endure is more than enough for a lifetime. But with grace and an iron will Beth masters every single one.
A Million Dreams id a heartfelt, touching story, excellent written and beautifully thought out and beautifully told that gave me all the feels. But, yes there's a but, I'm not ready to say good bye to the story and the ending brings hope that her story isn't told in it's entirety.

I love all of Dani Atkins books and this one was no different. I took a star off because it always bothers me when a love isn’t met or doesn’t come to fruition until the end of the book because the reader doesn’t get to get to experience it as much I’d personally like to. Also, I wanted to “be there” when she met Noah. The readers should’ve been able to experience that with her.

Dani Atkins is a brilliant writer. She broke my heart into a million pieces and joined them together with hope. Every word written in this book was etched in my heart bringing with it emotions which had tears coursing down my cheeks and a smile trying to flutter through amidst them.

2 women stuck in a dilemma which had no solution at least nothing which could be called fair and just. Izzy and Pete, separated parents, had a son Noah. Beth was a widow who had lost her husband and longed to be a mother. Both their lives had intersected 8 years ago by fate and an accident, and the results affected them today. What was justice and would it be served by the same fate?

Having read a book by this author after a long time, I was pulled into the book from the first line, enjoying the scenes as they unfolded in front of me. They were lucid and clear and gave me powerful imagery via my emotions. I was pulled in different directions by both those women as I felt keenly for both. Dani’s writing was superfluous in etching them, carving them out of real life.

The love that was shown kept me anchored firmly into the story. I didn’t realize that time had moved on while I was reading it. Nothing could have ever stopped me from completing the book at one go.

I loved, loved, loved the book with the million pieces of my heart. Ah, a fabulous storyteller was this author who told me the million dreams a mother has for her child.
