This was a very informative and well balanced look at bariatric surgery. It explained the process very well and also the risks and why it may not be right for you. I think this was super easy to read and would be good for anyone considering weight loss surgery.
A good read if you are thinking about bariatric surgery. Practical information regarding the surgery and getting ready for it. Was was different about this read was the information the author presented about the emotional side of the stigmatism of obesity in society
There is a huge amount of information and fantastic resources for those who might consider, or want to know more about bariatric surgery. Jamie’s information does seem just a smidge behind the current philosophies, which dates her surgery, but makes me admire her all the more because of what she had to go through to get it. I love the personal observations and anecdotes so much, and found the book to be a nice balance of clinical information and heartfelt reflection. I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and was under no obligation to write a review.
Great book for anyone thinking of having this type of procedure done. The information is very well written and gives you the information in a clear and precise presentation. It has what you can look for if you decide to have the surgery. Facts presented are to the point. This book can help you make the decision one way or another regarding this surgery. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the arc of this book in return for my honest opinion. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on this review.
