Wow, I did not like this book! Based on the blurb and the cover I was looking forward to a fun, light-hearted read. I made it less than halfway before calling it quits. Such a negative book. Do not recommend.

Sadly, this was not a book for me i finished it because i hoped something would change. But this was filled with so much hate, so much anger...and i didn't like any of the characters and their behavior...

Once again Liz Talley has written an awesome read, The Wedding War sucked me in from the very beginning to the very end I fell in love with the characters in this book. I laughed and cried and felt the love/hate with Melanie & Tennyson. True friendship lives forever. We all have that one friend that is going to ride/or die with you. Melanie and Tennyson balanced out each other, meek & mild vs bold & brassy. This story covers all the bases and will leave you with a warm feeling of what true friendship, love for their children and families is all about.

I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I requested this book from NetGalley. The synopsis sounded like it would be a fun romcom to read. little did i know that it was going to be full of so much internalized misogyny….These women are vicious, mean and sarcastic with so much vitriol coming out of their mouths that they are incapable of holding a conversation that doesn't put down or demean other women. I personally do not know any women like this and refuse to read such garbage again.

To top it off, here is how the author describes one of the main characters, Melanie: “She had darker skin because her mother was Japanese and her father had Indian in him. Not the kind from a different country, but the kind that lived here once upon a time in Louisiana” and later on the author describes MC’s daughter having “the exotic Asian eyes, high cheekbones and smooth, creamy skin.” Appalling and racist writing that left me in shock. This is 2020 and this kind of writing still goes unedited and is not challenged is disconcerting.

This is a great book, with a story of past friends turned enemies reuniting. Theres enough drama and humor to keep the reader eagerly turning pages.

This was a sweet book ofrenewed friendship with enough “drama” to keep the reader interested. The author does a nice job of keeping the reader intrigued as to why their friendship fell apart in the first place as well as highlighting past to present to bring the reader full circle! First time I have read this author but will be checking them out again! Thank you for the advanced copy!

This is a no from me. I came into this book thinking that I was going to read a book about friendship and a few shenanigans. What I got were microaggressions against minorities, gross generalizations that are harmful and not funny at all, and weird outdated point of views. I found myself getting angrier and angrier while trying to read this book but in the name of self care, I dropped the book at around 43%. Not sure if the book gets better but I am done with reading narrow minded books masquerading as a romance book.

The Wedding War is an almost believable tale of two former best friends finding their way back to each other as their grown children plan a wedding.

Tennyson (Teeny) and Melanie (Melly) have not spoken to each other in more than 20 years due to hard feelings, secrets being revealed at a wedding, and family heartache. The ladies, who were best friends through all of their childhood and until a wedge was forged after they went off to college must put aside their hard feelings and come together to plan and organize the wedding of their children. Tennyson’s son, Andrew is marrying Melanie’s daughter, Emma unaware that their mothers used to be best friends.

There is a ton of family drama, hurt feelings, a few laugh out loud scenes as the ladies bicker/fight over meaningless details. There are marital issues, family deaths and estrangement, and finally the wedding that pulls Teeny and Melly back together as BFF4ever.

Enjoyable and easy read. Likeable characters that gave me laughs with a couple of shocks along the way. A few little errors that I am sure will be corrected (sorry it’s the secretary in me) all in all I liked it though. Recommend this

I really enjoyed this story of friendship between Tennyson and Melanie. I felt that author did a great job showing us their friendship back when they were children to where they are in the future as sworn enemies brought together again because of their children's engagement. I felt she did a great job by making us want to know what happened with little hints here in there but waiting until later in the book to give the audience a looking into the events that happened the night of Melanie and Kit's wedding. This story reminded me how sometimes your soulmate does not have to be your romantic partner but can be your best friend. I also loved the way a Code Hot Pink brought the girls back together.

Two best friends Tennyson and Melanie held a secret that could destroy a life. They shared an attraction to the same new boy at school. The aggressive one got the guy and the other loved him from a distance. The guy, Kit, is very attractive, smart and soaks in all the attention he gets and obviously think he deserves.
The friendship is broken and years later, as fate would laugh as those that plan their future, the children of these two former best friends, find each other, fall in love and want to get married. This leads to Tennyson and Melanie having to help plan a wedding and not start a war!
Many other themes are running throughout the book besides friendship and they blend to form a wonderful story! I had so many emotions while reading. I really disliked Tennyson, at first. That shows great development by the author, that I felt so strongly about a character in a few chapters. I feel like I know the characters in this book. The scenes are expertly described. The dialogue flows effortlessly. The pages flew by as I was so immersed in reading. Several parts had me laughing and a few crying as well.
I totally enjoyed this book and recommend it highly. Liz Tally has added another fantastic book to her collection!
