I really liked this book, it was well laid out, had nice clear images and I loved the fun facts and introductions to some of the different species - it is definitely a book that can be used to spark interest!
It is 4 stars from me for this one, it is definitely a book I would read over and over to my daughter and I hope she loves Whales and Dolphins as much as I did at her age!
This is a very fun and educational book for kids. The images are stunning and fun for kids to look at. It would be great if it would be a little more engaging (numbers, rhymes, etc) but overall a great and easy read.
Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the bright pictures of different whales and the lyrical descriptions. Perfect for young toddlers who can appreciate these lovely ocean creatures.
This is a really cute book for the kiddos that are fascinated by whales. The pictures are very beautiful! I could see my little nieces and nephew pouring over the pictures and noting the differences between the different kinds of whales.
ARC COPY...it good! I best describe it as a simple yet effective educational book for younglings on different whales of the via stunning photography and simple yet informative sentence structure.
I think it's unusual to have a fully photographic board book, like this. I think it's unusual to have a board book for the very young with such a niche non-fiction subject as this. But it's also a little unusual to have books like this you can hardly fault – the rhymes don't really tell us much of the overall picture of whale kind, but the short bits of text instead pick out superlatives from the world of cetaceans. And there's just about enough variety and interest in the wonderful images and in the writing to inspire further interest once the reader is a little older. I can't imagine this purchase is a priority for many cash-strapped libraries and educators, but if so then this is certainly a good purchase.
