Complementary copy given for honest review and opinion

This book took a deep and real look in to the lives of our servicemen. PTSD is real and it is life altering. I love this book and I love the light it is bringing to the aftercare needed for our service members.

I received a copy of Second Time Around by Danielle M Haas from The Wild Rose Press, Inc. and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

I give this book 4 stars. It's a love triangle involving Jillian's ex. Jonah and Jillian navigate their past hurt and Jonah will fight for their future. At first, I wasn't a fan of Jillian, but she grew on me as the story went on. I recommend this quick read.

Great, quick read!
Jonah and Jillian were high school sweethearts with dreams of a happily ever after. When Johan leaves for his six week boot camp, Jillian is no where to be found to say goodbye. Hurt and not willing to let her explain he cuts all ties with her. Twelve years later Jonah returns to town and is determined to let the past go and have a second chance with Jillian. But, is Jillian as willing to forgive and forget and give him a second chance? And what about her ex-husband who is trying to reconcile?
Simple but wonderful story about love, friendship, and second chances.

This was a nice second chance read. My pet peeves is that Jonah and Dylan are Marines but are referred to as soldiers. That annoyed me more than the misspellings.

This is a story that is very real in this day and age.
Jonah Sheffield and Jillian Adams were HS sweethearts. When Jonah enlisted after graduation, both felt the other had hurt them.
Now 12 years later, Jonah is back home , a shell of himself. While Jillian has an eight year old and an ex trying to get back together.
While the three of them try to figure out what their futures will be , this story is more than a romance.
It’s a story about the effects war has on the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to our freedom. Many have a difficult time returning to civilian life . Upon their return some suffer not only from physical injuries, but also emotional and psychological. PTSD is wide spread and as individuals as well as a nation, we need to do more to help these individuals. Kudos to the author for that reminder.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

It's good, well written.
Love triangle situation.
I wasn't too keen on the Hero and felt he should grovel a bit more.
When they FINALLY, get to discuss the past, which gets shelved and shelved over and over again, he says some stuff that's pretty hurtful and he feels very strongly and it felt once she'd explained that was it forgiven. I felt it needed more time for him to come to terms with things, he switched too fast.

Safety gang.
The heroine is considering her situation with the Hero who is back in town and her ex husband has offered to try again, the heroine and her ex husband come close to kissing.
Later he forces a kiss on her and tries for more and she fights him off.

The only intimate scenes are between the Hero and heroine.

HEA.
Epilogue.
