This is a delightful collection of stories written by a group of talented authors, which are all linked together by the quaint town of Lake Covington, where couples find love. In this anthology you can find an assortment of romance tropes from second chance romance to single dad, to friends to lovers. Don't let the cover fool you, this isn't a dark story. I myself am guilty of judging a book by it's cover, but these stories are not dark, they are fun and charming and sure to bring you delight. The authors did a nice job of creating stories and characters that are interesting and relatable. An enjoyable and entertaining collection!
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I like anthologies because they are a good way for me to sample the work of new-to-me authors, and sometimes find new favorites. I picked up this particular anthology because one of my already-favorite authors is featured in it. But I also thoroughly enjoyed reading so many stories centered around Lake Covington written in such a variety of styles and voices.
A well written and entertaining anthology. Each is written by a different author and the stories flow well together. I received an arc from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.
This book was a great read. All the authors in this compilation made each story come to life. The book had me at the first chapter.
Very rarely do I not finish a book, but I just could not get into this one, maybe because I am not that fond of anthologies. The short stories here all take place in the small town of Lake Covington, some from the founding of the town in the 1800s all the way to present time. However, because the stories are so short that I could not get invested in any of the characters. Some I enjoyed, the M/Ms I skipped, some I just skimmed and then just didn't care to finish when I have a Kindle full of books that I have yet to read. This wasn't worth nay more of my time.
I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Well written and engrossing stories that I enjoyed. All are interesting and well written.
A good read, highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
I loved this anthology for the vast writing styles among the authors. It is a smorgasbord of stories that satisfies all of your reading pleasures! The stories are descriptive with characters that you can easily identify with. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
A contest of different authors writing short love stories.... a central theme and location. Then you vote on the story you liked best. These were easy to read short romances. Each author had their own style of writing though all were a pleasure to read. A perfect book to take on vacation. I know my favorite couple... which one will be yours?
Wonderful stories in this book. Amazing characters and well written by all. Loved all of it! Joy to read and learn about Lake Covington! All the stories were a joy amongst themselves! Humourous and sadness but all surrounded by love.
An anthology of short stories revolving around the small town of Lake Covington, this book is like a patchwork quilt of past and present, all sewn together by snippets from the Lake Covington Herald. As always when various writers come together, some stories appeal to the reader more than others, but all in all I did enjoy this book and the way the characters came together. My only criticism would be the cover of the book, which I interpreted as being sinister and dark. One cannot judge a book by the cover, but very often it does give an indication of what one can expect. Fortunately, as I received an ARC of this book, I was forced to read the blurb first and found that in fact, it is a most enjoyable collection of stories. I was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I read this as part of a Netgalley review and because a dear friend is one of the authors. While this isn't my usual genre and I don't know much about the Lake Covington scene, I found these stories enjoyable and well done. They were all quick vignettes and romantic, I definitely think someone who knew more about their backstories would enjoy it more, though.
