This story will tug at readers' heartstrings with the tragic buggy accident that Hope comes upon. Hope was a compassionate, sensitive and caring young lady who kept her family secret hidden from the community, except for her best friend and the ministry. Comforting young Chloe at the accident scene came naturally to her until first responders arrived. She was the Good Samaritan to Chloe and Jabin as she stayed at the hospital with them until a relative arrived.

Micah was distraught and fighting past fears as he entered their hospital room. Hope's eyes of comfort and strength drew Hope to him. The emotional roller coaster of the twins was realistic along with what Micah and Hope held inside about their past. Hope's new business was unusual with horse therapy for an Amish lady, but she knew it would be beneficial to the twins. The more Micah and Hope saw each other the stronger the pull. The unforeseen twists and turns in the story brought true to life panic in situations along with recognizing the need to confront buried fears and secrets. Isaac Graber, Hope's dad, enjoyed the twins and their presence gave way to his character to change with honesty and asking forgiveness from Hope and others.

His Unexpected Amish Twins is a story of hope, trust, healing, forgiveness, God's unconditional love and new beginnings for multiple characters. Amish fans will enjoy book one in Good's new series, Unexpected Amish Blessings.

Thank you to NetGalley, Kensington Books and the author Rachel J. Good for an advance ARC digital copy of this book. I was under no obligation to write a positive review but have given my own opinion.

What a sweet story. The story is about finding forgiveness in the broken. I loved Chloe what a spirited child total spit fire for sure she added a huge element to the story in my opinion. At first I was not a fan of Logan I wanted to punch him but he does grow on you a little. Hope was a fighter no matter what she faced she was fighting it head on with the grace and faith of God. This author had a way of getting to your heart and really sucking you into the story to see what will happen next. Nothing seemed to be off limits in this story which made the characters very relatable. This story is a good clean read and suitable for all

Five stars
An emotional heartbreaking story from the beginning to the end. Hope helps orphaned Amish twins until the uncle arrives and a bond forms between them all and Hope’s father receives some healing as well. Hope helps the twins and the uncle to heal while utilising horse therapy. I had learnt that horse therapy is useful for children and adults with special needs and healing therapy for people who have been injured.

it was amazing

His Unexpected Amish Twins by Rachel J Good is a must read.
This book has everything one could want in a wonderfully laid out story! Right from the get go you will need a tissue as a devastating Tragedy sets the story into a world wind of emotions. Hope is a young Amish woman who has Big dreams of her horse therapy business and at the same time is dealing with the troubling secret she holds close in order to preserve her families dignity. Micah who has a strong sense of obligation towards his family all while dealing with his own sense of feeling good enough, then we have the twins Chloe the more outspoken and Jabin the quiet and sky one. You will love I’m sure as I did this exceptional thought out story, learning about hippo therapy as well as seeing how God’s plan comes together in a way that not only you can marvel over but strengthen your faith as well. This book has it all and I know you will come away with a little more education as we have come to expect from Rachel J Good books not to mention a smile on your face. I truly loved this book and look forward to the next in the series.

Such a page turner with lots of hope, faith, and forgiveness. It was a tragic accident that brought Micah Miller and Hope Graber together.

Hope is dealing with her own problems. Her dad has a gambling problem. Hope is trying to get money saved up to save the family farm. Since her dad took money for his gambling problem. If she can't find a way to get money, they may lose everything.

Micah is living in New York with his parents when he receives a phone call. He gets tragic news about his brother and his family. Now it's Micah's responsibility to go to Pennsylvania and take on full responsibility and raise his brother's twins.

I enjoyed reading this book very much. It was definitely a page turner I didn't want to put it down. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

When Micah Miller's brother and sister-in-law are killed in a buggy accident, he's devastated. Now he must learn to be a parent to his niece and nephew while coping with his and their grief.

Hope Graber is struggling to deal with her father's gambling problem while trying to open her horse therapy business. When she comes across a devastating buggy accident, she accompanies the two children to the hospital and stays with them until their uncle Micah arrives. Hope immediately forms a bond with the grieving family and does everything she can to help and support them.

His Unexpected Amish Twins by Rachel J. Good is a beautifully written and heartwarming story of love, compassion, healing, and forgiveness. The characters are wonderful and well-developed. The author provides a realistic description of a grieving family trying to heal after a tragedy. Hope was a lovable and kindhearted character. It was very easy to root for her as she tried to make her business a success and struggled to cope with a family secret. I really enjoyed learning about her horse therapy business and all of its benefits. Micah's character was easy to like. I rooted for him as he tried to be the best parent he could be for his niece and nephew, and as he slowly overcame his fear of horses. The romance between them progressed at a good pace and didn't feel rush which suited the story. This is an inspirational Amish story that will tug at your heartstrings. I look forward to the second book.

His Unexpected Amish Twins is a charming story of love, hope and healing. When his brother and sister in law are killed in an accident, Micah rushes to his nephew and niece to take care of them. At first the plan is for his mother to raise the kids, but her failing health prevents that so Micah begins the journey of single parenthood.

There are a few plot twists here, but most interesting is the romance between Micah and Hope, the lady that has been a solid support system for him since his world changed. This is my first Amish fiction book and I found myself intrigued with the different words and practices. I felt like it was a good introduction into the Amish life (which I confess I am not very familiar with). In showing how Hope lives and how Micah lives, it really pulled together to show the similarities between the English and Amish.

I also really loved all the details on horses and horse therapy for children (as well as adults!) Love the way author Rachel J. Good shows the reader that the horses have their own personalities,

Thank you to NetGalley, author Rachel J. Good, and Kensington Books for this temporary digital advance reader copy for me to read and enjoy. As always, my opinions is my own. #HisUnexpectedAmishTwins #NetGalley

This is a sweet and emotional story of a family built out of a tragedy. Hope was shocked when she came across the horrible buggy accident that killed the parents of Chloe and Jabin. She commits to helping them, which she does with the assistance of her partner Logan, with whom she runs, among other things, a therapeutic riding program. Micah, their uncle, finds himself suddenly thrust into the role of parent, a tough job under any circumstances but he has his own issues to cope with as well. Is there a romance between Hope and Logan? What happens when Micah comes into the picture? This felt different from many in the genre because Hope is a more progressive woman in her community and because it addresses mental health. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Micah Miller made a promise that he hoped he would never have to keep. However, when his brother and sister in law are tragically killed, he vows to fulfill his duty to raise his niece and nephew. Micah must learn to be a parent while dealing with both his and the twins grief. When he stumbles upon Hope Graber and her horse therapy, he thinks that he may have just found the answer. Will Hope be able to work with the twins and help through the grieving process? Or will her own secrets and responsibilities keep them apart? When Micah finds that even he feels better with Hope around, can he find a way to make them a happy family? This story embraces the art of love through tragedy. Each of these characters face the loss of family and a future. Micah and the twins need to find a new normal without their parents or his brother. Hope must find a new future after her father places them in a tight spot. I love how they find forgiveness and their new path. I received a copy through Netgalley. A positive review was not required.

I was truly impressed with this book. The author, Ms. Good, wrote a story that explored intense grief of the loss of both parents for two young children, and for the family of those lost in the tragedy. This story was truly realistic in the emotions depicted in each of the characters. I greatly enjoyed the surrounding characters and their interactions with the main characters of the book (ie: the matchmaking amish mom, Hope's "englisher" business partner, the driver for the amish community, the "bookie" for Hope's dad, etc...). There were so many characters, and they were all exceptionally well created with real depth.

There were a couple of. times in the book that the author did not seem to explain some key issues; at least in my mind. One such occurrence was when Hope went in the ambulance with the children. She left the horse and buggy tied to a road sign along a fairly busy highway? There was never any mention of how the horse and buggy made it home. She was driving alone. It's not like Hope had a method of calling anyone to help retrieve them. There was no thought or preparation before she agreed to ride in the ambulance at the last minute. Addressing the horse and buggy situation would have been very appropriate in this scenario.

The instances when such events were not fully clarified distracted just enough from a sense of reality that I removed 1 star. I was hesitant to only give 4 stars, but these details are important when wanting the reader to fully enter the story and feel like they are there. It would have only take a few lines to satisfy the reader that no details were left unexplored.

I recommend this author whole heartedly. She delivered a truly wonderful story that was a great privilege to read!

Many topics are addressed in this beautifully written Amish story. I love that the equine therapy program is emphasized in such a positive way. Hope is a perfect name of the character that runs the program because of the hope she gives to each person. The empathy she shows Micah and the twins is touching. I found Logan to be irritating and but liked the way the author dealt with him. I liked the way Isaac interacted with the twins. Forgiveness is a very important part of the Amish culture as this story shows. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Recommended!

Good gives us a refreshing change from the normal Amish fiction books we read. Her characters have the same flaws and problems we “English” have.

Hope Graber had saved enough money to start her horse therapy program for children. Or so she thought. Her father, Isaac had a gambling problem and lost it all.

Five-year-old twins, Jabin and Chloe Miller lost both their parents when a car hit their buggy. Chloe is definitely not portrayed as your obedient little Amish girl. While Jabin withdrew into himself, Chloe was mad at God. Their uncle Micah willingly took over the role as parent to his brother’s children. Chloe was a handful but he loved them dearly and understood and shared their grief.

Will Isaac give up gambling? Does Hope manage to open a therapy program? What of Micah and the twins? How do these five strangers touch each other’s lives and help each other?

You’ll definitely want to read this sad, and sometimes comical, story! Thank you, Rachel, for a wonderful read!

Tragedy brings about unexpected Amish blessings in Book one in this series. Hope Graber struggles to save the family farm after her daed’s health forces him to give up his horse breeding business and he turns to gambling away the household finances. Micah Miller is forced to fulfil his promise to raise his brother’s twins when their parents are killed in a tragic buggy accident. Faith and inspiration are sprinkled throughout the pages and dusted with hope and courage.

Chloe and Jabins’ lives changed in an instant - their parents had been killed by a collision with a truck. Hope, the nearby owner of a horse therapy farm, had come upon them on her way home from a friend’s house.
She saw a young girl’s fragile body sprawled on the ground, and her head was bleeding profusely. Hope ran over to her, used her half - apron to stop the bleeding, and went with her and her brother to the hospital - she couldn’t let them stay there alone with no parents or family!
Hope contacted Micah Miller, the brother of the dead man, Ben Miller, and he came from 5 hours away in New York to be with the children. Hope was glad that the children’s’ uncle could be there, and Micah was surprised and comforted that Hope, a stranger, had come to be with his niece and nephew at the hospital.
Chloe, stays with Hope for a few days until her brother, Jabin, ccan be released from the hospital. Micah brings the children home to New York, but Chloe runs away, she misses Hope, and Jabin misses his home, he is very sad at his grandparents home.
What can Micah do?....

Rachel J. Good has given us a wonderful story of how out of great suffering, destruction, and distress comes Hope.

Micha Miller's brother and sister-in-law are killed in a tragic buggy accident leaving seven-year-old twins in his care.
Micha has a time coping with the children's grief as well as his own.

On the scene at the time of the accident was a lovely Amish girl, Hope Graber. She called Micha, who lived in another town at the time, to tell him of the accident. She stayed with the twins until he arrived and bonded with the family because of her kindness.

Hope ran a horse therapy business that helped children deal with tragedy. Would she be able to help this family become whole again?

Rachel receives a 5* rating for this story. A must-read for all, even if not a die-hard Amish fan.

Excellent story! This focuses on the grief experienced by two young children who were involved in a buggy accident which killed their parents. The children are entrusted to their grandparents and uncle. Their uncle comes to their aid and tries to help them deal with their grief as he deals with his own. An Amish woman from a neighboring district is there to help even though her own life seems to be falling apart.
Rachel Good deals with some very difficult subjects in this book; grief, fear, avoidance, gambling debt, and trust. Horse therapy is well documented throughout the story. It is a great read.
