"It's All About That Cowboy" was a rather mediocre and predictable read for me, just not my cup of tea. People more interested in the genre would probably like it more than I did.

Always fun to read a story about cowboys. Carly Bloom was a new author for me to discover. Was a nice way to spend a few hours reading this story.

This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you

Wow!. This was a really quick read for me and I was really surprised. I was not expecting for the story to end so abruptly and I am unsure if that was the author's intention. The story was surprisingly witty and it gave me a couple of chuckles. This story follows Jessica and Casey in the small town of Big Verde and they were small tow, high school sweethearts. Jessica is back in town for a funeral and she was hoping to go in and out of this small town without bumping into Casey, the town sheriff. Will they find the flame where their loved burned again?

Jessica was forced to leave her beloved town with a major secret that will surely rock Big Verde to its core. After graduation, Jessica and Casey promised each other the future and all the love that came with it, but after an unexpected pregnancy in the family forces Jessica's family to skip town overnight. Fast forward twelve years later, Jessica is a successful restaurant manager and Casey is the town's sheriff. Sparks truly fly when the meet up at a hilarious traffic stop. The chemistry between the two was great and I loved these two together. Their heart break and angst is due to a major misunderstanding and their love story is wrapped in a pretty bow. The old sparks flew immediately and the picked up where they left off 12 years ago.

As I mentioned before, the story abruptly ended and I wanted more. I like Casey and Jessica's character development and I just loved them together. I was really stuck between a 3 star and a 4 star because of the ending to this story. I have thought really hard about it and I have decided to give this story a very good 3 star read. An author cannot just end the story abruptly without an epilogue something. This story had 4 or 5 star potential. Grab you book or kindle and enjoy this short, sweet read about a cowboy sheriff.

Once Jessica Acosta left Big Verde, Texas, she didn't look back . . . until now, when a temporary homecoming brings her face-to-face with her high school sweetheart. Still devastatingly sexy, Casey Long sets off the same sparks that drew them together years ago. But Jess can't forget how he broke her heart . . . or the secret that came between them. Casey may have traded in his bad boy rep and big rodeo dreams for a sheriff's badge, but he's never gotten over Jess leaving. Having her back in town feels like a second chance, especially when it's clear that their chemistry is as strong as ever. But can Casey and Jess move beyond the pain of the past . . . to have the future they both deserve?
This was a short and sweet second chance story that I really liked. Second chance romances are always hit or miss with me, but I really liked it. The writing was good and both characters were likable. I recommend.

I really enjoy Carly Bloom’s cowboy books. I adored Big Bad Cowboy, however I didn’t love this one quite as much. I really don’t like novellas in general, they always feel a bit rushed and unfinished to me. I think I would have enjoyed this one more if it was a full length book. I liked the characters and found the story to be charming, but just missing something that would make me give it a higher rating.

A sweet and sexy reunion like no other where Jess and Casey’s reconnection was a combustive flame. To find out the one you admire a lot delt you a nasty hand was like a shock to your system. But forgiveness was ever-present in Jess’s heart. Now she and Casey were given a second chance at love with all heartbreaks behind them. A memorable and enticing read.

It’s All About That Cowboy by Carly Bloom is a novella in the Once Upon a Time in Texas series. The book begins with Jessica Acosta returning to Big Verde, Texas for a funeral—a place where she grew up, fell in love, and fled suddenly to avoid a scandal. Casey Long, the town’s sheriff is the man that Jessica left behind all of those years ago. As the story progresses, secrets are revealed and the two main characters realize that their feelings for each other are not in the past. This novel gives readers humor, sweetness, and romance. Readers will be invested in Jessica and Casey’s love story and cheering them on until the end.

Jessica and Casey were childhood sweethearts, but separated due to circumstances and misunderstandings. Now years later Jessica is back in town and they have a second chance at love. Though their chemistry is still as strict as before, they have their lives in different parts of the country, how will things work out for them ?
This is a quick read but not lacking in anything. It is an entertaining, steamy with some really sweet swoon worthy moments.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed the arc from Netgalley.

I fell in love with Big Bad Cowboy. I was tickled to have a chance to read It’s All About That Cowboy!
Novellas as a whole are tricky for me. I either don’t have time to connect with the characters or....I fall in love with the characters and don’t have enough time with them 🤷🏻‍♀️. The latter was true for this one!
I fell in love with the characters. I adore second chance romance and I wish I had a smidge more time with Casey & Jessica.
At the end of the day Carly Bloom does no wrong and I have to go with five stars and I can’t wait to continue with this series. The hardest part...trying to figure out which character I want spotlighted next 😂.

Cute novella! I really enjoyed this small town romance, and things played out in a not so cliche way for me. It was lovely and touched on some great things!

It's All About That Cowboy is a standalone novella in Carly Bloom's Big Verde, Texas series. It was a fun second chance romance that took place in the same town as Big Bad Cowboy. Jessica was the sweet cheerleader that was dating local bad boy Casey. The last time they saw each other was after graduation where they vowed to love each other and be together forever. Well fate had different plans for Jessica and Casey. Now it is 12 years later and she is returning home for a funeral and has always wondered what happened to the boy she once loved. Casey was devastated when Jessica disappeared 12 years ago and has spent that time growing up. He is now the sheriff of Big Verde and stops a red light runner on the way to his great aunt's funeral. He is shocked and pleasantly surprised to see Jessica at the wheel. The funeral brings these two together and all of those unanswered questions from 12 years ago will finally be revealed but not by me! This was a quick, fun and slightly steamy story that is told from dual POV and will make you want to head to Texas and find your own cowboy sweetheart!

This is a sweet story that will pull at ll the heartstrings. It touches on some very current topics in todays society. It poses some other questions such as can a first love really be true love, do other people reallly knows what’s best for us and are you destined to remain who you were when you are young or can you change?
This book will have you tearing up, smiling, laughing, swooning. In other words it hits all the right nerves.
Cassidy will have you sighing. Jessica, will have you pulling for her. Hope will melt your heart. There are plenty of other characters in this book that will have you hoping they get their own stories.
This is a fast read but seriously, once you start you won’t want to stop!

I didn't expect this to be a novella and even though it was short it still packed in a bit to make the readers enjoy and love the characters. If you liked small town feels, and second chances at romance you'll like this short contemporary story. From the moment I started the book I was pretty much sucked into this book and really enjoyed it.

Casey and Jess were high school sweethearts, but they were torn apart when her mother and Jess suddenly moved away. They reconnect after Jess returns to her hometown to attend a funeral. Can the secrets and misunderstandings of the past be overcome so that they may find their HEA?
