First time reading a Carly Bloom book and am now a devoted follower.
This is a very well laid out story of how a woman returns to her hometown with lots of baggage weighing her down. Unsure of how she’ll be received, Jessica gingerly reacquaints herself with the people and makes peace with her memories. She slowly reaches out to some people in town, particularly Casey, her old beau. It’s touch and go with all the brouhaha and drama that ensues. The author sums things at the end so effortlessly that it comes to a natural and a very happy conclusion that’ll bring tears to your eyes.
I received an advanced reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for my volunteer review.

Super adorable and easy to read novella—just long enough to fall in love with the characters and the town. I’d have happily read much more about these two, but all in all, a very satisfying, quick, and steamy read. Looking forward to more from this series!

[Thanks Netgalley for the ebook. This review is my honest opinion but just another opinion, you should read this book and judge it by yourself]
Oh, boy, what a delightful story! Carly Bloom knows how to create funny, sexy and lovely characters! I really enjoyed this novella. It's sweet, sexy, heartwarming, a second chance love story full of lovely people with real problems but with an optimistic point of view.
I'd really wished it was longer, for it's a little too rushed and Casie and Jessica are so great that you need a whole book for them and their love.
But I really enjoyed it and I can't wait to read more of Carly Bloom (I must say I loved Big Bad Cowboy and can't wait to read Cowboy Come Home!)

Enjoyed this novella. These characters are all sweet and relatable, people to want to know because you like them!

This was my first time reading a Carly Bloom book and I loved her writing style. I was drawn in from the start and end sentence held my attention. I can't wait to read more of her works.

This contact little novel put in a whole lot of story. The long weekend of rekindle friendship and romance of Jessica and Casey and where their lives are now. Throw in a couple of side stories including one incredible cute 11 year old Hope and a quaint little Texan town and it fits. A great quick holiday fun read with enough attraction to want you to turn the pages.

I have to admit it took me a bit to remember this series. I read the first book in late 2018 so when this one came out I almost forgot that I read the first in the series. I'm so glad that even though I didn't remember reading it I took a chance and requested It's All About that Cowboy.

I really loved it! It was was a great read. It's a second chance romance so you didn't have the build-up to them falling in love but I liked how even after all this time has passed they still loved each other.

It's sad to realize why they weren't together. But I also think it's part of life. Things happen and we grow from them.

Once all the secrets are out and they admit how much they still care for each other you knew they were going to have a happy ever after.

This is the perfect story to read when you have an afternoon to yourself. It gives you a taste of the series so that you can get a feel of it. You'll enjoy this town and the people who live there. I can't wait for the next one out in March. For you cowboy lovers out there this is the perfect series to read.

Jessica Acosta thought she and Casey Long would have a future together. Casey thought they did too. They were just teenagers then only 18 but still they thought they had something. Then Jessica disappeared overnight and Casey has not seen her since. When she shows up back in town for his great aunt's funeral he's excited to see her again but confused. Jessica wrote him letters back then but he never answered them. She thought her mom lessons about men might actually be true. Loved this short little novella. Loved both Casey and Jessica. I was rooting for them from the first chapter. I can't wait to see where this series goes. A quick fast and enjoyable read it kept me reading all evening and well after dark.

This is my first five star read of the year and it was so good. I absolutely adore Carly Bloom and her writing. This book does have a cowboy, an adorable child and second chance romance to swoon for. I wish the book was longer and that it has an epilogue but overall this was perfection.

What a fantastic second chance novella by author Carly Bloom! When Jessica Acosta’s mother took Jessica and left Big Verde, Texas after graduation…she knew it had to be. But her high school sweetheart (who took her virginity) was broken hearted when she just up and left…not knowing she had written letters to him in an attempt to contact him. He didn’t know why she left…until years later when she returns to town for a funeral, with a little girl with Down ’s syndrome who happens to be the same age as his child would be with Jessica.

This story is well written and touches on a few sensitive issues…which the author has done such a wonderful job including in her storyline. Illegal immigration, adultery, threats, Down ’s syndrome. I would love to see this in a longer version, or as a series with these characters being used in the continuation. All of the characters were blended so perfectly and they were all so great! Carly Bloom writes wonderful characters, you don’t feel lost in the story as it is smoothly written, and I love the Texas sheriff/cowboy tropes!

Fantastic novella! **4.5 rounded to 5**

I'm officially a fan of this author and town. Normally it's hard for me to 4 star a novella but this one was an easy choice. It packed a punch, introduced new characters, revisited some we already know and made me happy to have read it!

Jessica and Casey were torn apart as teenagers and had the star crossed lovers thing going on but with some twists. Even in this shorter story I didn't feel things happened too fast. There were laughs and even some heat. I can't wait to read the next book.

Highly recommend!

It’s All About That Cowboy is an emotional novella that packs a powerful punch. Once upon a time Jessica and Casey were high school sweetheart headed for a future together until her mother needed to move them out of town right after Jessica’s graduation with no notice, no time to get to Casey. Each believed the other had abandoned them and moved on, as well as two people in love but separated, could. Now Jess is back in town for a very short time and coming face to face with the boy she loved is harder than she believed it would be. The connection, the sizzle is still there all these years later – but so is heartbreak, secrets, and anger. Giving in to the strong attraction is foolish, right? Even if it’s the right thing, the necessary for happiness thing to do.

I enjoyed Casey and Jessica’s romance. It’s a quick read but full of emotions that will draw you in and keep you flipping pages until the ending. It takes both sides of any situation for those involved to understand why things happened. Finally, Casey gets answers, but they weren’t the ones he expected. I will always love a second chance at love for two people who really do belong together and It’s All About That Cowboy didn’t disappoint at that reunion one little bit. If you love a second chance romance then you’ll enjoy this novella in the Once Upon A Time In Texas series.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

It's All About That Cowboy is the next book in Carly Bloom's Once Upon a Time in Texas series and after reading the first book in the series, I couldn't wait for the next one to come out. While this is a novella, it didn't disappoint!

Casey Long was is currently the sheriff of Big Verde, Texas, but it's a job that most would never have seen him holding. In high school he was a bad boy, however he fell in love with a girl who saw to the heart of him and who he changed his ways for and saw as his forever. He was shattered when she up and disappeared from his life the night after they made that forever promise. She's the one girl he's never stopped thinking about all these years later.

Jessica Acosta was as in love with Casey as he was with him at eighteen, however circumstances forced her to leave both the town and the boy she loved with her mother. It's been twelve years since she's been back to Big Verde and she's only back for a short visit. When she discovers that Casey is the sheriff, she's shocked. The thing she's not so shocked about is how all it took was one look into his eyes and all the feelings she had for him came flooding back. Knowing she's only there for a weekend, she knows nothing can happen, plus she carries a secret that she's unable to share.

Are these two destined to get a second chance or will the secret that Jess harbors tear them apart?

While this might have been a novella, it was packed full of story. I swooned, I smiled, and I really, really enjoyed. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series!

IT'S ALL ABOUT THAT COWBOY by Carly Bloom is a sweet second chance small town romance. I loved it but, really wanted more! Jessica and Casey were high school sweethearts, separated by others they never had any closure. One day they were together and the next Jessica and her mom were gone. Hope, Jessica's sister is sweet and I totally fell in love with her! Definitely a five 🌟read!

It's All About That Cowboy is a wonderful short, second chance romance that takes place in Cary Bloom’s Once Upon A Time In Texas series and fills the gap between books one and two perfectly. Jess and Casey have history; but after reconnecting many years later, they are confronted by the deceitful web of lies and secrets yet again, while acknowledging that the overwhelming chemistry they once shared has never died.

Ms Bloom has taken a novella length story and turned it into a complex, emotional and passionate tale of two extraordinary people trying to heal their bruised hearts. The character portrayals are likeable and real, and the storyline is captivating with the added bonus of some humorous dialogue from Jess` friend, Carmen. I thoroughly enjoyed Jess and Casey’s story, and now have an anxious wait for Cowboy, Come Home.

This was one hot quick read!!

I loved Casey in this book. Here is the man who once was a troublemaker, who cleaned up his act but who is still in love with his high school sweetheart who left him in the middle of the night. Seeing her again after all these years makes him realize that he hasn't gotten over her and he wants her and he wants answers.

Jessica had a good reason to leave. I felt for her and her family troubles. She is a strong and compassionate woman who has been looking after everyone else else and hasn't realized exactly what she lost and what she wants.

It’s All About That Cowboy is book #1.5 in the Once Upon a Time in Texas series by Carly Bloom. After I read Carly’s first book, Big Bad Cowboy, I couldn’t wait for her next release and have been so excited to get my hands on this. It definitely did not disappoint. This is a short, sexy and sweet second chance romance.

Casey Long was the town bad boy back in his teens. He had also been in love with a girl that saw past his swagger to something better. Something he wanted to live up to. That girl left town with no explanation. But Casey never stopped loving her. And he never stopped wanting to be the man she deserved.

Jessica Acosta had also been in love when she was eighteen years old and was living in Big Verde, Texas with her mother. She was unexpectedly torn away from both the town and the boy she loved. Now, twelve years later, she is back, just for a weekend. She couldn’t believe the boy she once loved was now the town sheriff and all it took was looking into his eyes and all those old feelings were rekindled. But she is only here for the weekend. And there is more at stake now. Secrets she can’t share. Her life is in Houston and that’s how it has to be.

“He’d become the man she’d always known he could be. I knew you could do it, Casey.”

It had been twelve years since Jessica and Casey had seen each other. They may have been young, but their love was true. And their feelings were just waiting for the chance to return. Will they get their second chance? Can they find a way to bring their lives together? Or was this just going to be a chance for a proper goodbye?

This was a short story but oh so full. It’s complete with plenty of swoons, plenty of sweet moments, and plenty of sexy times. Casey had me at “darlin!” I love Carly Bloom’s writing. And I love this little town. I seriously want to live there! I can’t wait for Carly’s next book Cowboy Come Home, which is due out in a little over two months.

“He was a better man because of Jessica Acosta.”

This was the perfect combination of sweet/steamy and the cowboy aspect did not disappoint either! It's a second chance novella for Jessica and Casey, who were high school sweethearts until Jessica abruptly left town with her family, and Casey never responded to any of her letters. Twelve years go by before Jessica finds herself back in small town Big Verde for a funeral. Her paths cross with Casey, who went from the bad boy in high school to being the town Sheriff, and the sparks fly immediately.

It's a short story but the perfect length, I didn't feel like things were unnecessarily rushed or skipped over. I will definitely be reading any other books in this series!

A sweet country novella about second-chance romance. Jess and Casey were high school sweethearts who had plans for their future. Unfortunately, they were separated and were unable to reconnect due to plenty of family secrets & deception. Twelve years later Jessica returned home and the past catches up.
The chemistry never cooled off for these two over the years. Unfortunately, they have to weave through the secrets and deceitful behaviors to find their way to each other again. I really like how Carly Bloom writes. It flowed well and she brought compassion to sensitive issues. I usually don’t care for novellas because of their is insta-love tropes but this worked because it was a reconnection. Carmen, Jess’ pushy and loving friend, was complimentary to the story and added lots of humor. This is perfect if you’re looking for a steamy, quick cowboy romance. This was a stand-alone but I really enjoyed the first book in the series too!

Thank you to Carly Bloom, Forever (Grand Central Publishing)and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this and give my unbiased opinion.
