Jessica and Casey were high school sweethearts. They thought they had a future together, but abruptly after high graduation Jessica and her mother left town. Now 12 years later Jessica is back in town for a funeral. Secrets will be revealed. Can Jessica and Casey put the passed behind them? This is my first time reading this author. It won't be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Another wonderful Carly Bloom cowboy romance. Jessica Acosta loved Big Verde, Texas. When her Mom became pregnant and things got tough for her Mom they had to move. Jessica became separated from her long time love Casey Long during the move. When she has to return to Texas for a funeral she finds herself running into Casey. You'll fall in love with the characters and their love story!
I had not ready anything by this author, but I truly enjoyed this story and plan on checking out more of Ms. Bloom’s books. Sheriff Casey Long had been in love with Jessica Acosta since high school. Jessica and her mother left Big Verde, Texas after her graduation and he was hurt and confused that she left him with no notice. Jess had left town due to a threat to her mother, but wrote Casey asking him to come find her. Twelve years later, she is back in Big Verde for the funeral of Casey’s great aunt. Will they connect and find out what happened that kept them apart all these years? I enjoyed Ms. Bloom’s humorous writing style (especially the dialog about the belt buckle) and her genuine characters. I enjoyed my visit to Big Verde and hope to visit again. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
A short and very sweet second chance romance. I really enjoyed this book, it was a quick read but it's jam packed with great characters, a sweet and hot romance, and an interesting story that I didn't see coming from a second chance romance book. Jessica and Casey are a great couple, I really loved both of them especially Jessica. I loved the inclusion of a Down Syndrome character and the touchy subject of undocumented people was handled very well and showed the reality of what undocumented people and their families go through. This was a great introduction to the author Carly Bloom and I will be on the lookout for more books by her.
