The set of four novellas by author Kathleen Fuller is sure to please lovers of Amish fiction. From young couples to much older couples, the generations are covered in this book.
Charming stories that cover a multitude of challenges, Fuller shows us that love wins out over all if we care enough to lay self aside. Following God’s leading, the characters in this story overcome many things to be together and find the struggle is worth it.
The only thing that would have made these stories better would have been to include some recipes to go along with them. Especially for Elva’s pies! Seriously, grab a copy of this book, relax, and enjoy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.
Amish Generations by Kathleen Fuller has four stories in it.
Young Love: Fern and Dan’s story. I enjoyed it so much. Imagine crushing on a guy you like for eleven years?
Fern’s story gave me an inspiration. Sickness shouldn’t determine your life.
Long- Awaited Love. Stubborn Jemima and friendly Everett. Two different characters in this part of the story. All those food mentioned there made me to really toast my bread loaves in my toaster and drink water just because I was yearning for rolls and chocolate cake. I love how forgiveness was portrayed in this story.
Second – Chance Love. Ben and Lora Beth. Two middle aged people who lost their spouses through death. They find comfort in exchanging food recipes through letters. I enjoyed their letters. I felt like I was sneaking on their private lives but I had to remind myself, they are fictional. There is always a second chance for everybody.
Never Too Late.
Elva and Jerald story. It is never too late for love.
Kathleen Fuller writes good Amish stories with themes of love, forgiveness, family, God,second chances, appetizing foods and friendship etc.

This book contains four novellas Amish stories. Their are four different couple's of different generations. You can picture them all having their problems and figuring out how to work through what they thought they couldn't. The first one is Young Love. Where Fern is keeping secrets about herself and her illness. Will Dan love her after he finds out the truth. The second is Long Awaited Love. Will Melina and Everett find the feelings they had from ten years apart. Will they be able to find forgiveness and the way back to each other ? The third is Second Chance Love. Ben and Lorna Beth meet at a wedding and they both have lost their spouses. A recipe has them sending letters back and forth. Both feel it's just friendship but will it become something more ? The fourth story is Never To Late. Herald a confirmed bachelor meets Elva, A women who is visiting a friend after her husband has died. He is drawn to Elva at first because of her blueberry pie but Elba is not interested as her marriage was hard in many ways. Will Gerald change her mind ? Read these four novellas as it spans generations that people will relate too.
I really enjoyed reading these four Amish stories of romance. What I really enjoyed was that each of the four stories was of finding love in a different age group. Some of the characters were young and others were of the older generations. This was very enjoyable. I needed to learn about each character and how they fell in love. I received a copy of this book from Zondervan through Netgalley for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
Amish Generations by Kathleen Fuller contains four sweet Amish romances that span four different generations. Young Love features Fern Gingerich who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis despite only being in her twenties. She would love to marry and have a family, but Fern feels that a man would not want her because of her illness. When the pain is bad, Fern is confined to bed. When Dan begins paying her attention, Fern wonders if love can conquer all. Long-Awaited Love has thirty-four-year-old Jemima Kurtz returning home to Middlefield, Ohio after being gone a year helping her younger sister and her family. She encounters Everett while waiting for her ride. It has been ten years since she has last seen him. Jemima has a mix of feelings of inside her. Can the past be overcome so they can have a future? In Second-Chance Love, Lora Beth and Benjamin have both lost their spouses. They meet at a wedding and begin corresponding with each other. Their children want them to move in with them and treat them like they are in their dotage. Ben and Lora Beth are only in their 40s, for Pete’s sake. Can friendship end up being their second chance at love? Never Too Late has Regina’s friend, Elva visiting town and entering a baking contest with her blueberry pie. Jerald, a friend of Regina’s husband, is one of the judges. Jerald is a lifelong bachelor who loves good food. When he tastes Elva’s pie, it is love at first bite. Can two people find love in their twilight years? I enjoyed reading each of the four stories in Amish Generations. I thought the novellas were well-written with interesting characters and situations. Each main character has their good points and their foibles just like real people. I especially liked that the road to happily ever after was not smooth. It made the tales more realistic. Faith is important to each character. Christian values are included in each story without it becoming preachy. Forgiveness is one of the themes. You are forgiving someone else, but it is really for yourself. It is amazing how the act of forgiving someone will fill you with peace. I like that Young Love featured a woman in her twenties with a debilitating disease. We get to see how someone can look normal on the outside but riddled with pain on the inside. My favorite lines from Amish Generations is, “You can do anything you want to do if it’s God’s will.” Amish Generations contains four heartwarming stories that shows that it is never too late for love to find you.
This book contains four separate stories of couples finding love, from a young couple to one late in life. The varied situations may not be your typical Amish tales, but certainly hold the readers’ interest and evoke empathy for the realistic characters. They are quick to read and enjoyable. It’s hard to pick a favorite from this quartet—each is so different and compelling. One couple meets while babysitting, another at a wedding and then correspond, while another used to be engaged but parted ten years prior. They all have difficulties to overcome, but with God’s help they will. This novella collection would make great summer reading. I got a copy from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
This was a great collection of four very sweet, funny, and heartwarming stories. They were very well written and inspiring. I loved the characters.

In Christian fiction, I am fairly new to reading stories of Amish settings. With that said, I really enjoyed my time spent with Amish Generations. The novellas were perfect in style, setting, content and length. Hoping to read many more stories such as these in the future!

Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
There are four different stories here, and they are novellas so you can read one maybe two or the whole book in one sitting,
We are offered four different couples here, and yes there is a romance in each read, that will draw you in and keep you page-turning.
Each read has a different problem, and while we are in the Amish world here, this could be any where, but their faith does come into play. Will each couple be able to find their way to happiness despite the obstacles they are facing? You will be looking for answers, and if you are like me, a bit of disappointment once the last page is turned, wanting more!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Zondervan, and was not required to give a positive review.
Amish Generations by Kathleen Fuller was a great inspirational novella collection worth reading. All four novellas settle message was not to give up hope no matter how old you are.
Also making sure that you are forgiving yourself, others, or both for the hurt that was done.
Characters and storylines in each novella were all well developed. Each novella had a storyline that flowed with the right information to keep your attention to the end
Novellas are short stories not long enough to be published by themselves. Group them together with other novellas of the same topic and you got a collection worth printing into paperback.
I look forward to reading more material written by Kathleen Fuller in the future.
I received a free copy from NetGalley with no money exchanged only agreeing to an honest review. This is my review in my own words.
This is a book that once you start reading, you don't want to stop. I read it in one setting, it was that good! It has four beautifully written stories about finding love at different times in life. They were all absolutely wonderful heartwarming reads. I can't say enough good things about this book. If you like Amish fiction you will love it! Thank you Harper Collins/Zondervan via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Amish Generations by Kathleen Fuller is a compilation of four stories, each about finding love at a different time in your life. I read the book in one evening, because it was so good I didn't want to stop.
The first story is Young Love and it is about Fern and Dan. Fern has a chronic illness and she has always thought this would hinder her from living the life she wanted. Dan, however, wants the chance to prove her wrong. It was very sweet and I love how Fuller is able to bring people together, even when they don't know how.
The second story is Long Awaited Love. In it, Jemima and Everett have the chance to find love after ten years of being apart. But, can the two of them get over their feelings of hurt and mistrust and know that God has a plan for them? This story was also very nice. I loved seeing the work of God as He dealt with their hearts and their need for forgiveness. He is always able to mend the brokenhearted.
The third story is Second Chance Love. I think this one was my favorite. In it, Ben and Lora Beth meet at a wedding and begin sending letters to each other. Both are in their forties and have lost their spouses. As the letters progress, will they find more than pen pals? Being in my forties, I could relate to some of the things going on with them, and I enjoyed reading about the two of them and their families.
The fourth story is Never Too Late. Okay, maybe I was wrong before. I think this one may have been my favorite. I laughed through a lot of this one, even though there was also some serious moments that brought tears to my eyes. A confirmed bachelor and a widow who had a hard marriage find friendship, and maybe something more!
As always, I love Fuller's books! I hope you get to pick this one up and check it out! You will be glad you did!
I received a free copy of this story from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
Amish Generations is a collection of four easy-to-read, sweet stories set in modern day Ohio. The plots are well-crafted and flow at a fitting pace. The stories featuring four couples in different seasons of life each with their own struggles showing that love has no age restrictions! A love that overcomes illness, a rekindled love, a second go-around love, and a golden years first love combine to make an entertaining, inspiring read which captures and keeps your interest from the beginning to the end. The faith element meaningfully permeates each story. The characters are engaging and believable. I thoroughly enjoyed this anthology and highly recommend it especially for lovers of Amish fiction.
