Four well written and entertaining Amish romance stories. A very good collection. I received an arc from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.
Kathleen Fuller is a favorite author, in the Amish genre. She has once again given us a book, of 4 novellas, that does not disappoint. These 4 stories take us through a lifetime of love....from the early love of the young through the middle and older loves, to finally, the love of the sunshine years. What an evolution to become immersed in and visualize. You will enter into the world of young love and the challenge of autoimmune disease....an unusual topic but one that is addressed with compassion. You then journey into a love that, although was once thought over, again had a fire kindled underneath not so cold ashes. You then will see the hope of love, even after the loss of spouses....love will always find a way. And finally, the love of late life.....the sunshine years that hold few expectations and bask in the glory of the warmth and light of love once again to be had. Sit back, grab a cool drink and a warm cover, and enter into the world of Kathleen Fuller's evolutions of love's life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the insight into the the different life phases of love.
Kathleen Fuller writes Amish Fiction that is a lot of fun. Her characters are friendly and likable. Her settings are colorful and evoke wonderful word pictures. Each of the stories in this collection takes a couple looking for love and details how they overcame the obstacles standing in their way.
For one couple it was an auto immune disease, for another it was a ten-year separation beginning during their courtship, then there were the two widowed people finding a second chance, and finally a couple in their golden years find love for the first time.
I kind of wish these stories used some of the same families in her other stories, then reading these would have been like meeting up with old friends. If that's the worst I can say about the book, then this deserves at least four stars!
Zondervan and NetGalley.com provided the galley I read for this review. The opinions are my own.
Another great book, this one is about the Amish generations. I rather enjoyed reading the different generations of the Amish. It shows that the Amish are no different to the English, we both worship the same God. The differences is how our relationships within the community. I like that a dictionary for some Amish words is at the front of the book and reflection questions at the end which is encouraging to complete and discuss with others.
Young Love—I understand on what Fern is going through and that her condition is embarrassing and would not want sympathy from others.
Long-Awaited Love— I emphasise with Jemima with how she is heavily relied upon by her parents and siblings and with Everett and the need for forgiveness.
Second-Chance Love—I enjoyed reading the story of letter writing between Benjamin and Lora Beth and how much closer it brought them together while attempting to elude the children’s wishes.
Never Too Late—As a committed old bachelor Jerald loves to eat and judge the cooks of the community he finally falls for Elva.

Loved the book. Kathleen Fuller always knows how to entertain you in a good book. It has four stories. The first is called Young Love and is a story about Fern who suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis ( RA). Fern always had feeling for Dan but he had a girlfriend. When he became single they both started to have feelings for each other but Fern always felt she would not be a good Amish wife due to her serious condition. Cute story of love .
The second book called Long awaited love is a story of Jemima and Everett . When they were young they dated and things did not go well. Jemima parents were always pushing Jemima not to work and do all the housework and chores they did not like. Everett left his family because he did not want to run the restaurant with his father. Jemima left to help her sister with her child due to her sisters illness. When they return home the same day and end up with the same driver to take them home things start to happen. A story of misunderstandings and love. The third book called Second Chance Love is a story about Benjamin and Lori Beth both of them lost their spouses and meet at a wedding. They start to right letters and share recipes. Lori Beth's daughters want her to date and Dan's Son wants him to move in with his family. When Lori Beth's daughter tries to set her mother up with a man Dan starts to realize he has feelings for her. The fourth book is called Never to late Elva comes to stay with her friend for a visit after her husband dies. She meets Jerald who is a bachelor who loves food. As they become friends he learns things about Elva marriage she never shared with anyone. Cute story about finding love. All stories were enjoyable and kept you wanting to read more.
This book is yet another of Kathleen’s greats! I love the four separate stories of sweet love and plain living. You feel immersed in each story and the love radiates out of each one in their own unique way. I will admit that the fourth story was my favorite - so sweet! You will love this book filled with simple love and faith.
This is four short stories. They are Amish romances but involve people of all different ages and involve people having a second chance at finding a life partner. The stories are very well written and leave you with a happy ending. I would recommend this to anyone who would just like to read a short story in one sitting (4 times) and enjoys this genre.
I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Amish Gererations is a collections of 4 novellas each featuring the story of a couple, each in a different season if life. Each story is so well written I didnt want then to end. Kathy Fuller does a great job of bringing each of her characters to life. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
A wonderful read four different Amish couple four life stories. A Look at each of their lives their emotions their personal relationships. Each story drew me in involved me really enjoyed.#harpercollins#netgaley
This is an easy read. There are 4 stories about Amish couples. All the characters are a bit older, and their love lives haven’t gone as planned. The stories are predictable as far as the ending goes. There is a bit of conflict in each story, but nothing major where you may doubt what direction the story is going to go.
It is a good read.
Amish Generations is a delightful collection of four novellas. Each novella features characters of a different generation (thus the title), starting with a story about a young woman in her early 20s (you might recognize the character from previous books by this author) and the final story is about a woman in her late 60s. Although each novella is a stand-alone story, it is fun reading the progression of main characters from different stages of life. Each novella is difficult to put down because of the great storylines! Kathleen Fuller has written another book that you don't want to miss!
Four stories, from four different generations, come to life in this collection of novellas. Beginning with the new love in the teen years and 'finally see the light' love of the more stubborn thirty-somethings...through the second-chance love of the early widowed and the sweet love of those who spent a lifetime waiting for each other. No matter where you are in life, you'll find a story that is easy to relate to, and possibly some that are reminiscent. Each story is a sweet rendition of the issues that are faced at each state of life.
I almost didn't request to read this book, simply because it is a group of four short stories. I prefer to read novels where I can get totally lost in the storyline. However, I am so glad I read Amish Generation - I got caught up in the lives of four different couples! The characters emotions tugged at my heart, and I felt like I was a part of the Amish community. Well done, Kathleen Fuller!
