Wow! What a unique and winding story. We follow Liv, who survived a traumatic and well published rescue as a 6 year old, and is now as a grown up dealing with the 20 th anniversary of the event. This is a great story with so many twists and turns, some a saw but most I didn't. Really drew me in from the get go and never let go!
Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book. I love Megan Miranda's work and this was no different. Arden gets swept away in a storm and goes missing when she is a child. The rest of the book focuses on the "aftermath" of that. It reminded me of another book that I just could not remember off the top of my head.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
I adore Megan Miranda and her talent for awesome story telling and this book is no different.
I don't want to give too much away until its closer to Pub date, but buckle up because this is a great ride!
I really enjoyed The Girl from Widow Hills. It’s one of those thrillers that grabs you, and keeps you hooked until the end. Megan Miranda does a fantastic job of character development, and keeps you guessing about who is about to be a culprit. She throws in several unexpected twists (including a BIG one at the end), and wraps up the story beautifully. Her descriptions and build of the plot are incredible - she’s so talented. Don’t miss this if you enjoyed her other books!
Thank you to Netgalley, Megan Miranda, and Simon & Schuster for my gifted copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
This book started out a little slow but picked up the pace soon. I really enjoyed the book even though it was confusing at times The ending did not tie up all the questions I had and was confusing
When I was about 75% done with this book I texted my friend that I want to live inside of Megan Miranda's brain because I don't know how she comes up with this stuff sometimes and then there was just an even bigger twist and she blew my mind. This book instantly hooked me. It's a great story with really riveting characters- and I NEVER saw that ending coming. Megan has fully outdone herself here. I can't wait to tell everyone about THE GIRL FROM WIDOW HILLS.
The Girl From Willow Hills is the latest thriller from Megan Miranda, and is another winner. The story centers around a 6 year old girl who, while sleepwalking, is swept away by a flash flood. The ensuing search becomes a national story, and the girl is found clinging to a storm drain 3 days later. Now, almost 20 years later, that little girl again becomes the center of attention, but for all the wrong reasons. The book takes a little while to get going, as we get snippets of the flood story told in alternate chapters as press releases. But once things heat up, the story takes off, and I was spellbound as the layers are peeled away. Miranda fans will love the story, and this book should definitely cause new readers to check out her previous books, Loved it!, I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through @NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was an amazing story. There were twists and turns and I was hooked from the very start to the last page. You really didn't know who you could trust through this story and that made it so suspenseful. I really want this one to be picked up as a movie because wow!
An OK mystery but pretty confusing with lots of different characters and things going on. I didn't feel like there was quite enough resolution at the end, I'd like to find out what happens to Olivia with the detectives, her job, Bennett, etc. It's all a bit murky, especially about what all happened in the past, and I can't say more about that without spoiling it!
I have read other Megan Miranda books and thoroughly enjoyed them. However, this one missed the mark for me. There were a lot of characters introduced that were not crucial to the story and I think that they ultimately confused me and left me wanting more development of the characters that were crucial to the plot. I don't want to get too specific, since I do not want to give anything away. I'd give this book 3 stars, but would recommend other Miranda books over this one.
The Girl from Widow Hills by Megan Miranda is the perfect thriller! This will easily be a best seller for 2020 and will be one of my favorite reads for the year, even though the year has just begun! Arden / Olivia is piecing together both her past and present, trying to both figure out the truth of her childhood and protect herself from an unknown threat. This book is full of twists and turns and is seriously suspenseful! I had to stop a few times to take a breath, and “save” some of the book for later since I couldn’t put it down. The characters in this book were so nicely done. I honestly didn’t know who Arden / Olivia should trust and who she should fear! I love when I can’t figure out a character or an ending and am surprised by something in a book. I can honestly say that I did NOT see this one coming.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the electronic ARC of this book. I will definitely continue to follow this author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! No spoilers. Beyond amazing I enjoyed this book so very much. The characters and storyline were fantastic. The ending I did not see coming Could not put down nor did I want to. Truly Amazing and appreciated the whole story. This is going to be a must read for many many readers. Maybe even a book club pick.
Who needs sleep? Not me! From the moment I opened this book, I don't think I put it down once. In this thriller, the story of sleepwalking Arden Maynor, lost in the drains on a rainy night, once captivated the nation. The world watched Widow Hills as she was rescued, catapulting Arden and her mother to fame.
Her mother used the tragedy as a money-maker, while Arden just wanted a normal life. Now an adult, going by the name Olivia, she thinks the past is behind her. It's been years since the last sleepwalking incident and she's just received a box of her mother's last effects.
However, as the 20th anniversary of the incident nears, strange things begin to happen. The sleepwalking begins again, and this time, Olivia wakes outside next to a dead man. And when his identity is revealed, her well-hidden past is certain to catch up with her.
The Girl from Widow Hills is another fast paced thriller from the amazing Megan Miranda! Her books ALWAYS make me smile because she knows how to leave her readers astonished! You start the story thinking you know what's going to happen only to be thrown through a loop and pushed down another trail. I absolutely love this about her books! If you're a fan of the author, don't miss this one. You will regret it!
This was the perfect light thriller. I found the story to be well paced and I enjoyed the characters. The over-arcing mystery was interesting and there were enough twists to keep me guessing. I really enjoyed my time with this book!
I loved this book. From the very beginning, I was immediately hooked. Stayed up all night to finish it and am glad I did!
I have enjoyed Megan Miranda's books in the past especially 'All the Missing Girls'.
I loved the synopsis of this book when I read it and was overjoyed when I was approved to read the ARC.
A very well plotted and well paced book with great twists. I love the atmosphere created by the author in the book. I was totally hooked.
This book makes you think you know exactly where the story is going and who the killer is but then the end completely stumps you! The last part of the book is so well paced that you want to race through the pages to get to the end.
I really enjoyed this thriller and don't want to reveal too much about it because you should just read it!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for sending me a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! I just finished an advanced copy of The Girl From Widow Hills by Megan Miranda . This may be her best book yet. It's the story of Arden Maynor, who was swept away after sleepwalking during a storm and survived three days in underground pipes. To escape all the hoopla and changes her name and starts a new life. With the 20th anniversary of her ordeal looming she is certain something bad will happen and she begins sleepwalking again and finds herself in her yard, tripping over a dead body. There are all the great elements, murder, mayhem, relarionships, lies, and all twists and turns a reader loves! I'm giving it 4.5 stars because it is a little confusing at the start. Bravo. I think you have a winner here. Thanks to @simonandschuster @netgalley @meganlmiranda for the opportunity to read an advanced copy for an honest review.

Fantastic follow up which kept me on tenterhooks until the end. Such an interesting premise wonderfully executed, I’d definitely recommend this book if you like thrillers.
I’m a late comer to Meghan Miranda books so this is the third book I’ve read by her. I really enjoyed All the Missing Girls and loved The Last House Guest. I was able to get into this book from the very beginning and read it in three nights because I really couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed the characters and I loved the good twist at the end. It’s not my favorite of her but still definitely worth the read.
