This cookbook had some really great recipes. The recipes were easy to understand and not too complicated for the average cook. I enjoyed the illustrations and look forward to making these recipes for years to come.
Like any other cookbook, this one gives you simple healthy options to breakfast instead of just cereal and drive thru.
Lots of delicious breakfast recipes, easy to follow too.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
I love breakfast foods it is my favorite meal of the day. I really love this book it has a great selection of recipes. It even has homemade yogurt which I haven’t made since I was young but after seeing the recipe in this book I plan on trying it again I loved making it fresh but just stopped makingit somewherealong the way.
The Chia Seed Pudding is not only easy very easy to make its surprisingly delicious. This book has the traditional fare and so much more like crepes, quinoa (which I don't personally like, but I know many friends who do) and sweet potato toast so excited about that one!!
A few people have complained about the overnight recipes but they must have never made overnight oatmeal. These recipes are super easy to throw together at night n grab in the morning most can even be frozen so they are seriously much more convenient then they are getting credit for.
I have multiple favorite go too recipes that are similar and I love them because I can eat it when I get up or just take it to work and eat it when I get there. I work 9 hour shifts so these are life savers because I generally eat breakfast and lunch at work.
I now have even more to mix in so halalua to my routine!!! I am also very excited about the home made granola it's difficult to find healthy low calorie granola and even though the honey or maple syrup adds them in, I can happily feel comfortable that I'm in control of what's in it and there are no hidden surprises. I am experimenting with monk fruit as an alternative this weekend so I hope to have success with it as another way to cut down the natural sugar content. And people there is a grainless granola that I personally love. It is delicious on yogurt and I wont lie I've even eaten it as a cereal.
There are lots of tips and tricks along and suggested variations and substitutions throughout so don'tfeel limited if you want different ingredients experiment. I have found tons of recipes with potential that I'm happily (not only making) as is but switching up to vary either flavor or calorie intake.
The author also has a list of ingredients to keep on hand in your pantry, fridge, and freezer. I highly recommend getting them because I tend to make a recipe when the mood strikes and not having to run to the store is always bonus.
The recipes are labeled for gluten free, vegetarian, fast, less than 5-ingrediants, diary-free, and vegan so if you gave certain needs there's a bit of everything in here. With that said these are not exclusive to those dietary issues but do have recipes that offer choices.
The PB Protein Bites made out of peanut butter, oats, honey, pecans, flax seed, chia seed ,and honey are deliciousand easy to take on the go.
This cookbook is well organized and presented I highly recommend it.
I received a copy of this product from Callisto Publisher's and Rockridge Press as an ARC for an honest review.
Very useful healthy breakfast cookbook. Some of the ingredients are slightly out of the norm for my range of cooking, and my rural grocery store, but the recipes are interesting enough that I think I'll try some new things!
I am often suspicious of cookbooks that bill themselves as healthy. Intrigued, but suspicious. Because healthy can be a subjective qualifier. Is it low calorie? Low sugar? This book seems to define it as being made of whole ingredients, including complex nutrition. Complex carbs, healthy fats, and protein. While the individual recipes didn't do much for me, I appreciate the philosophy.
This is a wonderful book to add to one's cookbook collection. The recipies are simple and healthy. It is perfect for the family. I found many wonderful recipes in it and find that my family loves them.
I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy free of charge. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of it.
This book really helped me find some make-ahead, healthy options for breakfasts that I can take to work. It definitely took me out of my comfort zone to try something new. I wouldn't necessarily say that they are all healthy, but my kids for sure loved the banana split parfait!
A huge variety of recipes. Each recipe has the per serving breakdown. There are labels on the recipe for dairy free, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. Everything looks delicious.
Some people look forward to waking up every morning just for the sheer joy of eating breakfast. Others feel that breakfast is a waste of calories and try to hold out until lunchtime. Still other people are puzzled about how to eat a healthy breakfast that won't take too long to prepare. Any or all of these folks might enjoy a look at this cookbook that is only about that first meal of the day...though who is to stop you from having breakfast for dinner?
The book is divided into chapters on smoothies and drinks, yogurt and fruit, granola oats and grains, eggs, protein packed breakfasts, sandwiches and toast, pancakes, waffles, and French toast and, lastly, muffins breads and bars. A few of my favorite recipes included those for Brussels Sprouts and Crispy Bacon which is a One Pan Hash; Easy Egg Muffins which can be made ahead and Savory Smoked Salmon Sweet Potato Bagel which substitutes sweet potato for that unhealthy bagel. There are also traditional recipes for things like perfect omelets and oatmeal.
I am not sure that all of these recipes are healthy. For example, some have bacon, but so many look like they provide an interesting start to the day. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of The Healthy Breakfast Cookbook.
If it were up to me, I’d literally eat breakfast for every single meal every single day... there are just so many yummy options to choose from and this book has given we some really great ideas. I really have one recipe in mind for meal-prepping this weekend. I love how the author gave tips on freezing some of the meals or prepping them the night before. I have a tendency to make WAY to much of something and end up throwing stuff out AND I don’t have any time in the morning to cook so these will come in handy!! My only minor complaint is not enough pictures... when I see delicious drool-worthy pictures it makes me want to make the recipes that much more.
Thank you to Rockridge Press and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book.
I absolutely love this cookbook. I actually want a tangible copy for my collection. I'm always looking for healthy cookbooks/recipes with minimal, whole ingredients. I'd highly recommend this to friends. Some standout recipes: the entire smoothie section, greek yogurt banana split, quinoa porridge, sweet potato hash, maple sage sausage patties, protein-packed banana pancakes, breakfast cookies, slow cooker raisin bran loaf!
The Healthy Breakfast Cookbook by Shayna Telesmanic.
With the New Year I wanted to try to find some health recipes. This book caught my eye because breakfast can sometimes be hard to eat healthy especially for long periods of time without getting board. This had a lot to choice from for sure.
There were smoothies, smoothie bowls Recipes. There is a recipe for homemade yogurt along with some additional fruits and other things to enhance it. There is a Chi Seed Pudding recipe. In addition to homemade granola, overnight oats. Different egg recipes, some being Eggs in a Basket, Easy Egg Muffins. There is a Sweet Potato Hash recipe. This book covers some muffin, pancakes, scones... about anything you can think of. It gives you the healthy twist.
Enjoyed this book and the recipes.

Review written after downloading a galley from NetGalley.
I enjoyed this cookbook. It has several recipes that are approachable, easy to throw together quickly, and most can be made using items from any well stocked pantry and fridge.
I particularly liked the tips for meal planning.
My only suggestion is that I would have enjoyed even more photographs!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was also able to purchase this Amazon!
I have a lot of cookbooks but none just for breakfast. I found the recipes in this book easy to make and diverse in terms of dietary restrictions. The pancake dry mix is perfect and keeps me from buying boxed mix.
I received an advance review copy but had no obligation to post a review. All opinions are my own.
I received a copy of this arc from NetGalley for an honest review. I often skip breakfast because I would much rather sleep in just a bit longer, however, this book has some great make-ahead ideas that you can pop in a cup or in the microwave at work making it less likely that you will skip the most important meal of the day.
Most of us want to serve good, healthy breakfasts, but time constraints often prevent us from doing so. The Healthy Breakfast Cookbook: Easy, Balanced Recipes for Busy Mornings by Shayna Telesmanic is a great primer for those who are in a hurry in the morning. The cookbook includes plenty of recipes for smoothies and other breakfast-type drinks which are a big thing nowadays. It also includes recipes for cereals, grains, and granolas, including some of the trendy grains like chia seeds, as well as some excellent egg dishes. The recipes featured are quite varied, and they have nuances from all over the world, from the popular Shakshuka (this one is “beefed-up”) to yummy Breakfast Enchiladas full of chicken, sour cream, and green chiles. There are sandwiches, waffles, biscuits, and scones, all made a little healthier with the addition of whole wheat flour and minimal sugar. Avocados are used in a lot of the dishes, and luckily all of the recipes are not plant-based; there are plenty of recipes using bacon, chicken, etc.
One of the best parts of this cookbook is that most of the recipes are fairly quick. They are also written in such a way that they are easy-to-follow, both for beginning cooks and for more experienced cooks. The recipes are good enough that people will actually want to make them. Anyone who is busy will appreciate that most of the recipes are quick, and there are also some that can be made ahead.
Two favorite dishes are Brussels Sprouts and Crispy Bacon One-Pan Hash and Sweet Potato Hash – they are both delicious. Every recipe so far has worked out picture perfect. Unfortunately, there aren’t very many pictures to let us know the results are perfect, and that is the only real drawback to this cookbook. In these modern days, there should be no excuse to scrimp on photographs.
All told, this cookbook is worth adding to any cookbook collection.
Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.
You had me at “breakfast”. I love breakfast but it can get monotonous. I loved how she included a chapter on just multiple different kinds of ways to make eggs! The few photos that are included looked so good! I personally recommend the Breakfast Enchiladas. My husband and I loved it for dinner (we love breakfast for dinner).
