And the conclusion to the Zoe Bentely series. I've enjoyed getting to know Zoe. She's prickly and blunt and most people have a tough time getting to know her and liking her at first. But not her long term partner Tatum. He's had his moments of disbelief when she's been too blunt but he knows she's a darn good profiler.

And this is the finale. Finally Zoe will come face to face with her final case but one that is circling back. A murdered that has haunted and stalked her. But is she ready?

I liked Zoe in this one. I liked her struggle and seeing a few of the cracks in her. She is affected by the things she sees and experiences. The last book has to have some residual PTSD. It was a tough case with brutal outcomes. I liked feeling like there was a solid conclusion with information about all parties involved.

But the actual subject matter was pretty gross. I've been pretty okay with most things but the main theme of this one was especially gross.

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

I loved this final book in the trilogy and I loved the entire series. Mike Omer is one of my favorite mystery/thriller authors. I know when I choose one of his books that I'm going to like it.

Daniel Glover is a serial killer who has haunted Zoe Bentley, a criminal profiler, since book 1 and he continued to do so. But in this third book in the series he wasn't the only one to hunt victims. Glover now has a terminal medical condition and he pawns himself off the a religious community as a good guy who can help others since he's been on the wrong side of things himself. There was a good twist that I wasn't expecting but it wasn't earth-shattering. I loved it!

I would like to thank NetGalley and Thomas and Mercer for providing me a free e-ARC in exchange for my honest opinion which I have given.

Thicker Than Blood by Mike Omer

In book three Tatum and Zoe return to follow a killer who drinks his victims blood. Zoe and Tatum are still searching for Rod Glover in Chicago. A church member ends up dead and the similarities to Rod Glovers mo that sends Zoe and Tatum to the crime scene that they did not belong too. Chicago PD does eventually welcome them to help and they soon find out another women disappears. Zoe and Tatum race to try to figure who the killer is so they begin profiling who the killer may be. They race to the end to discover who the killer is and Zoe is still tracking Rod Glover.

Mike Omer twists a good story in this thriller a killer who drinks his victims blood is different for me and the story flowed with some basic understanding why a killer would want to drink blood. Zoe always as her arch nemesis Rod Glover does she finally catch up to him in this installment you need to read this series to find out if she does. I like to tip my hat to the elements of horror in this thriller it made the story be filled with tension and kept the pages turning to race to the end to figure out who is doing the blood drinking.

I would recommend this 5 star read to anyone who is looking for a good thriller with a different spin on the killer who drinks blood.

I want to thank Netgalley and Thomas and Mercer for a free copy of this book for an honest review.

Fiction (Adult), Mystery & Thriller

Zoe Bentley is a profiler for the FBI. She and Agent Tatum Gray arrive in the Chicago area after the details of a woman’s murder fits the M.O. of a serial killer Zoe has been tracking most of her life. She is on a deadline with this case. If she cannot connect this case with the serial killer within a week, she needs to move on to another case. Zoe is not about to let that happen and pushes herself and the rest of the team to get any information to put the killer away.

This is the third book in the series. I was not aware of the other two books before I read this one. I did not have any problem following the storyline or Zoe’s history. The flashbacks of memory told me what I needed to know of the past. Although, those glimpses made me want to go back and read the first two stories.

The story was fast-paced, and the characters were well developed. If you like stories with strong women lead characters, you will enjoy this book.

As always, this author requires you to have a few hours available once you start reading.... because you will not want to put this down once you start!
Mike Omer should be a much more we’ll-known author, IMO. His narrative and descriptors are on point & I impatiently await his next release.

Just thinking about a killer drinking his victims blood is enough to make my stomach turn. I was captured from the start and as with all the books in this series it was impossible to stop reading.

Dr. Bentley and Agent Grey are back and tracking serial killer Rod Glover in Chicago. They stumble upon a gruesome murder and are asked to assist. Another page turner from start to finish. This is a must read for fans of Karin Slaughter’s Will Trent series!

This was my first Mike Omer book and even though I ended up reading book 3 of the series, I have to say I've found another author that I like and am looking forward to reading more of his books.

As I mentioned earlier, this is the 3rd book (conclusion of the series) and while I didn't read the first 2 books I was able to know get a good handle on the characters. I have to say I wasn't a fan of Zoe at first, but she did actually grow on me. I was so hoping for a different ending for her and Tatum, but they do work well together...he is the calm to her storm!

There is a lot going on in this one!!!! Serial Killers, blood sucking, rape, mental issues, kidnapping, graphic and twisted with an ending I thought I had figured out, but BAM I was wrong!!!

If you like a twisted mind with lots of mind boggling twist and turns than you really want to read this book.

I love Zoe Bentley and after 3 books I’m excited to see what Mike Omer has in store for her. This book, #thickerthanblood is a great addition to this ongoing tale of this forensic psychologist and her partner from the FBI Behavioal Analysis Unit. I was kept in suspense and unable to guess who was the unsub completely. Checkout Zoe and see if you don’t get drawn into her world. Thanks to #netgalley and the publisher, #thomasandmercer for this ebook ARC to read and review.

This is the third in the Zoe Bentley series. I had read the prior two and would recommend reading them first for story flow. Along with her partner a new cop is brought into the story ODonnell and she is a great character. I hope she returns again. Zoe continues to struggle with her social skills. There are parts of the book that are a bit gory but overall it is a suspenseful and enjoyable book.

I was given a copy from Netgalley in exchange for an unbiased review.

'Thicker than blood'....the title got to me and after reading the description that it was a female detective from the Behavioural Analysis Unit.....that completely got me hooked and precisely for this reason I requested the book on Netgalley.

Starting to read the book and going through the story, I got to know that it is part of a series. I pursued reading it because I liked Zoe, I liked how she looked at the case and how she processed the case. Tatum plays a great role in supporting Zoe and understanding her thoughts and quirks. Detective Holly O'Donnel who is a sincere hardworking detective and trying to find her place in the crimes department is a good companion to Zoe in this case and I love how even though they didn't start off liking each other, they start understanding each other by the end of the story.

There is a murder of a young lady Catherine Lamb that takes place which has elements of work that resembles the activity of Rod Glover who Zoe and Tatum are tracking....and this is the premise and a starting point for a very twisted and thick plot.

The plot of the story is clear and includes two Unsub including Zoe's nemesis Rod Glover and the journey to understand the hows and whys is the whole fun.

I liked the characterisation, the pace and the plot. Although I liked Zoe I couldn't totally connect as I was missing parts that were probably revealed in earlier stories of the series. I would have loved if the author could have elaborated a bit more on the past history, a bit more than what was already revealed in bits and pieces. The story did go slow for a patch in the middle but regained the pace at the end.

I would recommend this story to all those who love mysteries and psych thrillers. It will keep you hooked.

I thank Netgalley, author and publisher for approving my request to read and review the story. The opinions expressed heerein are entirely my own.

Zoe Bentley is back in the hunt for the elusive serial killer that has been haunting her relentlessly in the newest addition to the series. Intense does not even begin to describe this read. Well developed plot, passionate characters and lots of suspense kepted me on the edge if my seat hanging on to every word. Great late night reading material!

Man, you know, I really love this series. A forensic psychologist from the BAU, Zoe Bentley, is at the heart of these books, but the stories, the characters, the details will all pull you in and not let go. The first two books were really good, but this third one was in my opinion the best one yet. And even though this third book brought closure to all the loose ends of the series overall, I really hope this is not the end of the Zoe Bentley mysteries. It did leave a tiny open thread at the very, very end that makes me hopeful for more in this series.

In these books, you get multiple POVs from every angle (which makes it totally immersive), interesting and likable characters, and villains that are truly evil and depraved and must be stopped.

Mike Omer, I'm talking to you now, sir. More Zoe Bentley (and Tatum), please!!

Another fantastic Zoe and Tatum team-up!

I love these characters, they are just so well-developed that I feel like I know them! They are quirky and imperfect, and are so interesting to read about. And especially Marvin!

In this installment, Zoe is hot on the trail of her nemesis Rod Glover. The suspense and the twists kept me turning the pages and kept me hooked till the very end!

As with all of the books in this series, I highly recommend it!!

Mike Omer Has Done It Again!

Dr. Zoe Bentley and Agent Tatum from the FBI BAU (Behavior Assessment Unit) are back again. This time they are on the trail of a serial killer who had abducted Zoe and her sister several months previously. They hear there is a new case where a woman has been murdered with some similarities to their case so they need to investigate the crime with hope they can track their killer. Unfortunately when they arrive on the horrific scene they find some similar wound signs that they are looking for but there are also wounds that suggest this killer is draining the victim's blood. These wounds are completely unrelated to their killer but curiously there are also discrepancies that also point to their suspect. But, why would their suspect change his method of killing now? Could this be a different killer but also using a copycat technique intertwined with his own style of murdering female victims or is Zoe off her game with her profile and must start all over in developing a new profile for this murder and reevaluating their own case of the monster that Zoe has been tracking for years. The police department is not happy about the FBI
Inserting themselves into their case right now, but before long they will welcome their help when another woman is abducted and they will have no idea of who or what they are looking for and they only have small amount of a timeframe to find this woman or she may be meeting the same fate as the first victim.

I am a fan of Mike Omer and I really enjoyed this creepy, murder, thriller story. I think this author is a stellar storyteller with exceptional writing skills that leave me feeling excitement and tension while reading his books and looking forward to more of his wonderful novels. This was not a supernatural story yet, there were horror elements in this thriller that made it fun if readers enjoy very dark crime thrillers or just good old fashioned horror stories. This is truly a novel where nightmares are made and sometimes unfortunately can come true!

I want to thank the publisher "Thomas & Mercer" and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this fantastic book and any thoughts and opinions expressed are unbiased and mine alone!

I have given this book a rating of 5 Nightmarish 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Stars!!
