This was a great poetry book. I always absolutely enjoy her work and I can't wait to read more in the near future. I highly recommend it.
** I received an electronic ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. **
This was a lovely collection of poetry; and I absolutely loved the cover. It took me a long time to read, simply because it was not available in an e-reader format or on the NetGalley app. I spend too many hours a day on my computer as it is, so I was not motivated to stay at my computer to read. But I did enjoy this collection, and will keep an eye out for more of Courtney Peppernell's work.
Another poetry book that I'd love to recommend to those who enjoy modern day poetry. It is heartwarming and saddening at places, but I'm sure a lot of us will be able to relate to it. The book talks about love, loss and self love. Do give it a shot if you enjoy emotional yet quick reads
Peppernell never fails to amaze me. I used to only love poetry about sadness and heartbreak but once I found happiness I found that I couldnโt relate to poetry, until now!
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
The cover is simple and gets the job done.
I love Courtney Peppernell's work. Her poetry is raw and emotional. Her poems always speak to my heart. I read this in one sitting, and I couldn't stop reading.
I'll definitely be looking out for other work by this author.
This was actually an okay poetry collection. I just did not like the way half of the poems seemed to be saying the exactly same thing over and over again, just in different ways, which seems to be what modern poetry is these days.
I Hope You Stay by Courtney Peppernell is a beautiful collection of poetry that I'm looking forward to using with my high school students. I've already flagged pages to use as mentor texts in the future!
I really cannot overstate how much I love Courtney Peppernell's poetry. I'm working my way through her entire body of work and her style is everything I crave in poetry. It consistently wrecks me emotionally and I love her for it. The art in this collection is also wonderful.
Courtney Peppernell is a very gifted poet, and I love the illustrations sprinkled throughout this book. I think Pillow Thoughts is still her best work, but this is a good companion to it. Thank you for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Sends a good message, but falls flat in its depth and execution. Iโm not a big poetry reader, but since it was here I gave it a shot. There were a few poems I enjoyed, but only on a surface level. The messages throughout the book were sweet, and if I were in the right headspace for these, I would probably connect with them better.
I have read a lot of good things about Courtney's Pillow Thoughts, although I haven't had the chance to read it personally, and I was excited to read this collection of poetry. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I really liked the overall message about healing in this book, I was quite disappointed in how there's not a lot of depth in it. Not my cup of tea, but it might be different for someone that enjoys modern poetry and going through a break up recently.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!
After the sucess of the best selling poetry book Pillow Thoughts, Courtney Peppernell creates another gem that surely touch every reader's heart.
Courtney Peppernell is known to be one of the best poet in this generation. Along with Atticuss, Lang Leav, Michael Faudet, Rupi Kaur, Peppernell creates her own path to sucess by building up words that our heart cannot explain.
I Hope You Stay is divided into five parts. You will ache, You will dream, You will love, You will heal, And You will rise. Each section is filled with passion and soul.
What I love about this book is the love and pain combined to let us know that there is always something, something beautiful about love and pain. This is a story full of hope, awakening, self healing, and bravery. We always mistaken pain as a bad feeling, a feeling of lost and grief. But this book shows that it is not always ache and heartbreaks but also the bloom of our scars. Scars are beautiful. They make us beautiful and powerful.

I hope you stay is not just an ordinary poetry book. It is a golden book created for people who feels lost, feels unloved, and feels nothing. Self Healing is a process. It is not like one day we are totally healed from the bullets of our past. It is taken step by step, and as I turn the pages of the book, i found the answers not merely seen in some other books. We are woman. A girl power. Together with Courtney Peppernell, I hope you stay because you are worthy and you are loved. โฅ
This was the first time reading anything from Courtney Peppernell. I really enjoyed this one, and I definitely would love to read more of their work.
This is an empowering poetry collection ideal for someone going through, or having experienced, a tough time โespecially a bad break-up. They will feel understood and this book will help them see that, although some trials in life seem like the end of the world, they're strong enough to survive them.
While this collection was not groundbreaking or overly technical, I found I connected with some of the poems.
When I saw this book as one to review, I had to jump on the train to read it. I have been a fan of Courtney's poetry since her Pillow Thoughts series have been released. However, for some reason, this book just did not resonate with me as much. There were a few poems that I did save for re-reading but it just felt lackluster in comparison to her other books.
I was just over halfway through when the eARC expired ๐ญ happy to say I was really enjoying it and some of these poems really stuck with me. My favourite from Courtney Peppernell so far!
Itโs safe to say that Courtney Peppernell is one of my go to poetry authors. Her writing is easy to get into, and you just end up flying though the book. But this collection just wasnโt for me, and Iโm a little disappointed. I only enjoyed 6 poems in this entire collection and the rest felt cliche, and super basic. The message she tries to convey is genuine but seems to be targeted towards only people dealing with a break up. Even after a while it becomes repetitive, relying on the same message with slightly different words. Not for me, but hopefully Iโll enjoy her next release.

I Hope You Stay is a collection of poems about a breakup, healing, love, life, and body positivity. I didn't enjoy this one as much as her previous work. The writing was straightforward but bland.
โAnd after all the pain maybe it wasnโt the timing maybe we were just two people bad for each otherโ
I requested this from NetGalley because I had heard that this authors previous poetry collection Pillow Thoughts was outstanding. I was really hoping to like this, and I did, however I was not blown away by it.
This collection is divided into 5 parts: You will ache, You will dream, You will love, you will heal and You will Rise. Through which the author explores the idea of grieve, heartache and finally moving on. This poetry collection is full of powerful words that together create a simple, raw and beautiful experience to read.
Like I said, I enjoyed this poetry collection, it did not bring any new ideas to the table however the writing is beautiful and the otter drawings definitely brought a smile to my face. The reason I did not loved this collection is because I could not relate to it. This book is design for you to relate to what the author is feeling. I think this was a hard topic for people to relate to because even though we all have been heartbroken, we all hurt and heal in different ways and maybe some can identify to the way the author hurts and heals but for me I was not able to connect.
We all can relate to the idea of heartbreak and moving on however the way the author portrayed her hurt and healing process is very different to the way I hurt and heal. However, there were definitely some gems in this book and it still think it is worth reading. This collection had a great concept overall, but the execution might not be everybodyยดs cup of tea. My advice is, if you are interested, read it, you might relate to it way more than I did and find a new favorite collection.
Overall, it was a solid 3 star read, it was not spectacular or mind blowing but I do not regret reading it at all and I do believe some people will definitely feel connected to it.
Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and the author for letting me read and review this collection.
