CW: dubious consent, internalized slut shaming, toxic relationships

It feels weird to critique a memoir so I'm gonna be brief. I really enjoyed this and it's clear from the beginning that BB Easton is a talented writer, this books sucks you in from the beginning. I went out of order and watched the tv series first. While the inspiration is clear this is very separate in a lot of ways from the show. And anyone who does not find the miscommunication trope believable I would point to this book. This was a fun, diary entryy type book.

High steam, and the realism of it all added something to it took. The MC/author is clearly in love with her husband and her children but also wanting it all and every woman deserves it all. But I also am hoping her husband/LI/Ken is also getting everything he wants as this is clearly single POV and he seems like a sweetheart.

Steam: 4

44 Chapters About 4 Men by B.B Easton

44 Chapters About 4 Men is told through journal entries, email and text exchanges, and it's HILAROUS! BB is a psychologist who's unhappy with how cold her husband can be towards intimacy, once she learns he read her very personal journal including past sexual experiences. She uses this to change his behaviour towards intimacy.

I can't remember the last time I laughed this hard, or stayed up well into the morning to read a book. I loved the format of this book and the writing style. This book is unique and unlike anything I've ever read, seriously, it's SO good. Nothing is held back, every single thing is out in the open, and it was amazing!

Hilarious, raw and shockingly honest is one woman’s story about sex and life and absolutely nothing is off limits.
.
Feeling reminiscent of her younger days and bored with her husband she begins to journal about those experiences but she never expects her husband to read her journal and even better act out her entries. Her innermost thoughts and experiences become a manual in a twist she never saw coming!
.
Also, side note the chapter names are hilarious! I cannot wait to get to the #Netflix series!

I first read this book in April of 2016 and it very quickly became one of my all time favorites. It’s witty. It’s sexy. It’s refreshing and fun. I have never enjoyed a book as much as I enjoyed this one. I highly, highly recommend.

When I saw that one of my top 5 authors endorsed this one, I knew it was going to the top of my must read list! And, a must read, it was! As soon as I got it, I sat down to read it. Let me tell you, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT for any reason drink any liquids while reading this book! If you do, you risk spraying every drop out of your nose!

I’m not a big memoir reader, but this one…..this one just called to me. The glossary alone was enough to hook me! Once I hit the first chapter and read about the “husbot”…..that was it for me. Hook. Line. Sinker. I was a goner and I laughed ridiculously loud while reading this one. I loved the way BB penned out her life story.

Easton’s memoir is interesting and awesomely penned. I loved turning the pages and finding something new and laugh-out-loud worthy. Easton is a fantastic author, and made her memoir read like a well chiseled fiction novel. Definitely a new favorite read and highly worthy of all the 5 stars!

This was originally a DNF for me, but when I saw it was becoming a Netflix show, I decided to give it another try. Even though I received a free e-book copy early (thank you, NetGalley), by the time I decided to give it another chance, it was available on Audible. So I alternated between reading and listening and reading along with the audio. The narrator was terrific. She gets 5 ⭐️s from me. The story was... okay, at best.

I guess I just didn’t feel right about her twisting the truth of her past to manipulate her husband. Shouldn’t a trained psychologist know of a more ethical way to communicate her needs, feelings and wants to her husband? I don’t know. When I could look past the icky feeling of her exploiting her husband, the story was entertaining and humorous. She has a bingeable writing style... I just wish I could have had more fun reading it.

B.B. Easton's book is hilarious and raunchy and so much fun to read. The way it is written through journal entries is interesting and kept me engaged as a reader. I laughed out loud so many time during this book. It was raw and real but at its core it was about her love for her husband Ken. B.B. is wild and adventurous and Ken is "boring" and an accountant. After kids and many years together B.B. starts reminiscing about her wild days of crazy piercings and sex with rockers and starts to wonder where the passion in her marriage went. She then starts writing "super secret" entries in her journal which she realizes Ken is reading to see if he will help spice up their marriage. This story is spicy and funny, but at its core, it is also sweet and full of love.

I enjoyed this book and cannot wait to see the Netflix special!

This book is brilliant. One of the funniest and best memoirs I’ve read. I was addicted to it by page 10. BB Easton’s voice is one that you can’t not love. It’s such a good read. I totally recommend to anyone!

This is such a fun book! I fell in love with BB and all her adventures. It was sexy, but not over the top and you couldn’t help but fall in love with BB and the oh so perfect Ken. Great read that I think most will enjoy!

B.B. Easton is hilarious and relatable in her memoir novel about the 4 men she's dated.

This memoir isn't a reenactment of her former glory days, but extensive journal entries. First it starts with her reliving some of the sweet and sexy things her exes did that she wished Ken (her husband) would also do, then after discovering he's read these super secret journal entries, things start to heat up.

With her "Super Private Journal That Ken Is Never, Never Allowed To Read Ever" entries getting into erotic details vs. "BB Secret Journal" entries detailing the true events that transpired, I was completely enthralled.

I've never read anything like this before, but I can say with utmost certainty that I can't wait to read more books by B.B. Easton. 4/5 stars

Would you ever let your husband read your private journal where you wrote all about your sexcapades with your hot sexy ex-lovers? Well, BB Easton did just that and she did not hold back. Did she embellish a little bit? Yes but in the end it worked in her favor. So kiddos to you girl! Ken stepped his game up! Is there a book you’ve read, sat back and said oh my god I want to be this persons best-friend? I usually don’t reads memoirs but BB Easton delivered. 44 Chapters about 4 Men is fun and hilarious! I can guarantee you, that you’ve never read a book like this. I still have a book hangover. Let’s be honest no one has everything in their marriage and no marriage is absolutely perfect. BB Easton conveys a strong message about married life and sexuality.

This book has been on my radar and on my TBR for years. When I heard this was being made into a Netflix series I knew I had to push it up my list. And got the perfect opportunity when I saw it recommended by Forever Romance on our Romanceopoly recs pages. This is part contemporary romance part memoir. The combination of that was so interesting! It’s also about a struggling marriage that doesn’t have the spark anymore and the heroine stumbles across a way to spice things up. Writing in her journal about previous affairs and leaving it for her husband to find.

I think this book is great at setting up a story where you want to know more about all the characters involved. As we go along the “author’s” journal and meet the 4 men in her life, I always had that feeling of needing to dive a little deeper. Probably one of the things that didn’t get me to connect with this installment as much. But I think it’s a great way to setup the series and a book for each one of them. It’s also done a great job at discussing a marriage that hit a wall and needs something to get that excitement back. I did really like Ken (the husband) and I’m most anxious to read his book (SUIT).

The thing that I enjoyed the most about this story is the humor. 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN is just pure FUN! Lots of personality, this was a hilarious ride without being over the top. Just the right amount that works for me.

Like I said, this has setup the series nicely and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more.

I downloaded this book because Colleen Hoover told me to. And Colleen Hoover knows good books, so I was not let down. It was hilarious and addictive. I can't wait for this to be made into a netflix series.

This book. Where do I even begin?

This memoir is both refreshing and laugh out loud good. 44 Chapters About 4 Men is not what I expected the first time I read it, something that absolutely delighted me. Not only is Easton's writing amazing, the voice with which she told this story is incredible. All the shenanigans make for a unique, romantic story that will leave you breathless from laughing and content with overwhelming emotion. Husbot and BB are both everything you don't expect and THAT makes this story so amazing. It's a funny book filled with ups and downs, gumption, and sexy tomfoolery. Wrap all that together in one well paced and fantastically written story, and you've got yourself a winner. It's brilliant.

This is the kind of book you want to relax in a bubble bath with while drinking your favorite wine!

I found this book to be absolutely HILARIOUS.

It’s a memoir of one woman's secret journal entries about her past bad-to-the-bone boyfriends. Writing about her wreckless youth (and sex-capades) she realizes her husband stumbles upon the first few journal entries when he starts acting out the scenes.

Being the psychologist that she is, she comes up with the ultimate behavior modification technique: Write out her desires and wishes into journal scenarios disguised as ex-boyfriends.

I am not a fan of Memoirs at all but this book reads almost like a Romance novel. It’s that good. Not to mention BB Easton’s sense of humor is rolling-on-the-floor, laugh-out-loud funny!

This is probably the best discovery ever and I am so thankful for the free copy from @foreverpub!

I had no clue what to expect from this book! I mean the amazing title was super fun but what’s on the pages within this book floored me. BB Easton is bluntly honest in giving 44 chapters about 4 men!!! Wow!

A romance memoir.... what? This book was so blatantly honest and refreshing! I honestly had no idea What to expect and was pleasantly surprised. BB Easton is quite the author and I will definitely be looking for more. This author is sexy and savvy!

BB Easton is suffering from a stagnant sex life... among other disconcerting aspects of her marriage. Reminiscing about all of the crazy fun she used to have before settling down with her husband starts out as an innocent enough exercise... but BB soon realizes that she has inadvertently found the key to spicing up her marriage. And even though it might not be the most honest of approaches, BB finds that she is definitely not above using a little subterfuge to make some very small... and very sexy changes...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
44 Chapters About 4 Men was the hilarious and off-the-charts sexy debut release from the incomparable BB Easton. Introducing her husbot, Ken and the other three men who helped her find not only what it is meant to be BB, but to never settle for anything less than being adored...
This book follows the many loves and heartaches of BB in her quest for happiness and, of course, just a tiny bit of adoration. From her first long lasting and a little scary relationship with Knight, to her rebound with the equally bad for her Harley, BB's younger self learns some hard and fast lessons about dating the wrong kind of guy. Moving on to Hans, where she thinks she's finally getting it right, it isn't until she meets the man who seems to be her complete opposite that BB realizes what it means to really be loved for who you are... even if Ken has never once expressed that thought enough for her liking...
This book is fresh, fun and utterly hilarious. I mean... is guffaw a word people still use? Because I think I actually achieved a few guffaw-levels of laughs while reading this book. I love everything that BB writes, but knowing that this is the book that started it all makes it extra special. She likens it's style and flow as a "frankenbook", but this story is anything but honest and soul baring perfection. Oh, and it also happens to be sexy AF. Following BB's completely true, or sometimes dreamed up, sexcapades results in one delightful and scorching hot sex scene after another.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Plot
44 Chapters in written as a journal. A journal that B.B. keeps–and hides–from her husband. BUT, her husband soon finds it and from there–B.B. uses it to manipulate sway her husband into doing things that she’s wanted for years! Heralded as a semi-biographical look at actual events, this whole story from start to finish was wickedly entertaining!
Characters
B.B., herself, took front-and-center and I couldn’t get enough! She’s hysterically charming and extremely self-aware. All the men in her life weren’t actually very fleshed out–other than some anecdotes (and only half of those were truth!) to bring her husband along, we didn’t get to know them much . But, they served as very entertaining plot devices.
Writing
B.B.’s writing is relatable and therefore, even when you question some of her moral decisions–you’re not really questioning her moral decisions! She’s witty and so creative! I got to see a side of her that I don’t think we got in the Rain trilogy.
Pacing
The pacing is fabulous! It tells you right in the title how many chapters this book will be… And each one delivers a fabulous piece of B.B.
Cover
I’m loving the updated cover! If you’ve ever seen or followed B.B. before on any social media–you’ll know what I mean when I say this cover just exudes B.B. Easton!
