Thank you for the chance to read and review 44 Chapters about 4 Men. I had heard great things about this one and it lived up to the expectations. It was an interesting read and one that I will definitely probably reread plenty of times in the future. I would highly recommend this one to all of the romance lovers out there.
This book is hilarious, dirty, fun to read especially during these times. Be ready to be taken away into a crazy world that will have you smiling and saying OMG too many times that you will lose count. I just loved that this book made me smile and laugh a lot.
I am super. excited to see it come to life on Netflix!
Great Book!
This story was so much fun. I laughed throughout the entire read and continued smiling even after I finished. I wasn't sure what to expect from this book and I was really surprised by the emotion and heart brought out. This story is not like anything I have read prior in this genre and I really enjoyed every minute of reading it. It definitely has me intrigued to read the other stories.
I was hooked from the very beginning! I didn't know what to expect when I started reading this but boy was I surprised! Get your copy now, you won't regret it!
I don’t know why it took me so long to read this book! I was hooked from the very beginning! I didn’t want to put it down. This was a rollercoaster of a ride...in a good way. I found myself laughing, shocked and agreeing with so many parts! I even learned a few things! I would most definitely be recommending this book to others.
BB Easton is just a genius! I luv this book!! It's sexy and funny and different than anything I've ever read. I loved reading 44 Chapters about 4 Men and absolutely cannot wait for the Netflix series- so excited!!!
Pros: Decent story, funny, raunchy, and honestly, quite clever at times.
Cons: I couldn't connect to the main character, and for those that are not into books that are border-line smut, this one will not be for you...as it wasn't for me really either.
Overall: I liked the story, but I could care less about all the sex.
44 Chapters About 4 Men publishes tomorrow, April 7th.
2.5/5 Stars
***4 Stars***
This was a fun read, a little crazy at times, but fun and endearing all at the same time.
I gotta say, BB’s way of getting her husbot’s attention (after realizing she actually had it) was a lot of fun to witness, and read. But what I truly liked was how said husbot picked up the gauntlet without doing a major overhaul of himself, he simply tweaked things a bit.
I know this book has been out for a while and one I’ve wanted to read, but just never seemed to have the time until now, and I really enjoyed it. But then again it is right up my alley when it comes to my fascination with how people will react to things that are thrown in their path and what they choose to do with them. As this is a prequel of sorts, I will definitely be checking out the rest of the books in the series so I can dig deeper into many of the characters we met here.
This is one of those books that I enjoyed quite a bit, but it may not be for everyone. It's less story and more memoir/journal, so if that's not your thing, this likely isn't for you. As the title says, it's 44 chapters about 4 men and it tells the tale of what happens when the authors marriage ends up getting a little, let's say, stale in the bedroom.
BB Easton takes us through the relationships she has had with the four men in her life starting back in high school because there are certain things she would love out of the relationship she has with her husband, Ken. She loves her husband and has two adorable kids with him and they are really happy, but there are just things she wishes her husband, or husbot, as she calls him, would do.
She writes a journal and when Ken ends up reading the entries in the journal, things begin to take a turn and they get a whole lot hotter. When she begins to embellish what happened in her past relationships in order to help her cause along, not only does Ken take the bait, but reading the entries is enjoyable and almost like she's talking to a friend, which makes them hilarious. Her strait-laced, accountant husband begins to take a more active role in their love life, which thrills BB.
This book is so well written and is very entertaining. I enjoyed the stories and shenanigans that she got into with her previous boyfriends and how her life with Ken evolved. Easton's way of writing is wonderful and as I mentioned, it almost felt like she was talking to a friend, which made this a very fun to read. I look forward to reading more works by her in the future!
BB Easton is a genius! She had me laughing the whole time and got her man to up his game in the bedroom. I am totally impressed.
Although this is my first time reading BB Easton, I felt like she was one of my best friends because it read like a conversation. I think so many people have felt the lack of passion in their relationship and BB used humor to help herself through it. She is a school psychologist and she is writing about sex. Definitely didn't expect that one, but Julie Chen taught me to always expect the unexpected. 😂
The book starts off with BB telling readers how disappointed she is in her husband. When they do have sex, he acts like he is bored and forced to partake in a passionate moment with his wife. This leads BB to write journal entries about her exes on her computer. When her husband Ken starts to read them, she sees a difference in him. He is starting to put more effort in their relationship, especially in the bedroom.
What happens when your partner starts to read your journal takes notes and then applies it to improve your sex life, you write more journal entries hoping he continues to follow what he reads. This is exactly what she does. There are a few hits and misses but we can't all be perfect. lol.
I really enjoyed the humor, sass, and all the sexy moments. Ken gets a round of applause for how much he stepped up. 👏🏽👏🏽 BB is a relationship whisperer and she too deserves a round of applause. 👏🏽👏🏽
I give 44 Chapters About 4 Men 5 stars. Her writing is so fun and fresh and readers will love it. I heard that this is being adapted into a Netflix series and I am so excited about it!! I have found a new favorite author and I am looking forward to reading more of her books!!
It has been a long time since I have laughed so hard while reading a book. From the very first page I was hooked and I DEVOURED this book. I am kicking myself for taking so long to finally read it! The memoir style was new to me but I loved it. It was nice to read something different for a change.
The concept of a whole behind this book is truly fantastic. A woman, BB, revisits past relationships through a journal that her husbot, Ken, discovers. However, he doesn’t get upset, he learns from it. This changes their relationship for the better.
The story is 1000% relatable. The honesty, the realness. Everything. I am in love. This story really had me reflecting on my past relationships, how they shaped me and how they affect my current relationship. I was legit reading sections of the book out loud to my other half because they made me laugh or reminded me of him.
The journey 44 Chapters takes you on is one that will leave you thinking and laughing your face off. If you haven’t read this book yet I would highly recommend it. It is a MUST READ and I can’t wait to read the other books.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 “After consulting with the devil on my shoulder, I’ve decided to embark on a morally bankrupt psychological experiment with the hopes of transforming Ken into someone warm and affectionate whose love for me is so immense that he just needs a tattoo of my name and/or likeness just so that he can better broadcast his feelings for me to the world.”✨

If you enjoy:
•Fictional Memoirs
•Dear Diary Stories
•Steamy Scenes
•Unique reads
•Singular Narrative
Then this may be the book for you!✨
.
This book is uniquely written. It’s a Dear Diary type of story throughout. Though two separate diary’s. One for her personal thoughts, feelings and truths, and one for what she wants her husband to read and believe after she catches him reading her original one. Deciding to conduct an experiment, it’s full of stories of her ex’s (her ‘truth’ and her elaborated versions for her husband) with the intention to spice up her marriage. And let me tell you this book is packed with sex and steam.✨
.
There was some language/slang used that I didn’t feel should be used today in 2020, regardless if it was used in the time the story was intended for. But there was some actual relatable moments. I found some of it hilarious and other parts I felt I had to skim through. But it left you wondering if any of it was true in this fictional memoir based on the author life experiences.✨
.
I’m definitely interested to see how it translates in Netflix! It’s not my favourite read of the authors, but I enjoy her, and will continue to read her work!✨
.
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for this advanced copy for my honest review. ✨
This was not what I was expecting at all! It read like fiction...actually it felt more like sitting with a best girlfriend over wine/coffee and getting all the dish on her love life. Living vicariously through someone young and single, which I have not been for 30 years! Really dishy and would be a great beach read if Covid ever goes away!!
I give this book 3.5 stars this was a solid comedy romance for me. It is a unique interpretation of A memoir mixed with fiction. I found that I was laughing out loud at several points in the book. It also made me think back to my Exes and walk down my own memory lane. One of my favorite parts of this book was the Butch Walker reference B.B Easton became 100x cooler because she’s a fan of Butch! Overall I enjoyed and would recommend this book. It made be introspective and appreciative of my own early relationship experiences.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley and voluntarily give my review.
I had a friend highly encourage that I read this book. I had no idea what I was getting into, but boy am I glad that I did.
This was a hilarious compilation of journal entries and emails by BB trying to find a way to get her husband to be more intimate with her, give her more compliments, brand himself with her name, and perhaps gaining a nickname in the process.
She found that allowing him to read her "super secret journal". This hilarious compilation showcases some of BB's past boyfriends and her escapades with them. She shows some vulnerabilities that she finds helpful with her husband Ken.
Overall, this was fantastic! It was comical and still quite enduring. I would like to know that there is quite a bit of language, graphic discussions of sex and sexual acts.
Thank you Netgalley and Forever books for allowing me an advanced copy of this book for my honest feedback.
I picked this up not realizing it was memoir/fiction. But times are weird right now and I thought I would enjoy something a bit different. I was incredibly underwhelmed and did not finish the book.
I understand that this was originally self published and is now being packaged for a mass audience and movie. I can not believe that “f@ggot” was used three times in this book. I was caught off guard, no warning, no real lead up to it. I believe it was used to portray one of her previous boyfriends ignorance? I couldn’t really wrap my head around it. It’s 2020, when do you think we stop using gay slurs?
She also dates a skinhead, but he’s not a racist so that makes it okay. I guess? It was weird. The way she describes their first sexual encounter was borderline non-consensual. I remember those days of being young and not really understanding sex and how consent worked, but again, perhaps there should be a warning for readers in the front of the book instead of a glossary of a bunch of made up words.
I got to the part where she realized her husband read her diary and her first inclination was to start talking about her ex-boyfriends in a glamourized way as to entice her husband to be more romantic and spontaneous. I’m supposed to believe that a highly educated woman in the field of mental health & behavior modification chooses this over having a conversation with her husband? As opposed to going to see a therapist. That she’s going to do all this to make her husband be a better husband.
Then the next chapter starts and she enters into a relationship with a 22 year old man as a 17 year old girl. As someone who was traumatized by older men when I was a teenager, I would have appreciated a warning. I thought all the relationships she was going to explore were adult ones.
At this point I was pretty much done with the book. It is fair to say that the humor missed me.
I wasn't sure what to expect with 44 Chapters, but ended up really liking how light and fun it was. I think we can all relate to minor marriage struggles and BB's way of making the real life fun and entertaining was great! Thank you, to Forever and BB for letting me read early! I can't wait for the Netflix show!
This was a fun read. Not absolutely mind blowing, but all in all, it was an entertaining read. I can definitely appreciate what the author was trying to do with 44 Chapters About 4 Men.
At times the book was down right hilarious. The author’s humor was insanely relatable to me and I relished in her personality. I connected to her wit and charisma which was comforting for me. Like, this is a person I can hang with in real life. Plus, I can relate to her because who doesn’t have a soft spot for the bad boys when they were in high school? I know I did.
But, the story line wasn’t strong and it was also inconsistent at times, which is a huge ball buster for me. It jumped around so much I almost got whiplash. Basically, I’m glad she decided to write Knight’s book first because their whole relationship was just so choppy as she wrote about it and just left me immensely confused and asking questions which is annoying because I never shut up about something if I want to know more about it. Every time she would sporadically mention him throughout the book, I was confused all over again.
For a memoir, the writing was superb. I definitely want to check out her next book mainly because I want to see how she structures and writes an actual novel rather than a book that just contains journal entries.
