This was a pretty good read that was fast paced and intriguing. It's an on the edge of your seat must read more type of book! I thoroughly enjoyed it, although much could have been cut out.

This one was pretty good. There was a twist I didn't see coming at the end, which is unsusal for me since I usually figure out the twists in most books I read. The characters weren't particulary likable, but in a way that was hard to look away from, which kept me turning pages. Some people might not like this one, since their is the whole child harm aspect to it, but it didn't bother me as it wasn't anything graphic or such. I actually liked this one better than An Anatomy of a Scandal, though I know a lot of people really liked this one.

It's interesting to read and observe how the story has been put together. Time weaves back and forth with lots of details, allowing the reader to understand the characters better and form an opinion. The way the story is constructed enables the reader to learn how secrets were kept and how destructive they can be. Stressed mothers usually end up making mistakes as parenting can be overwhelming. An intriguing story with an unexpected ending.
I downloaded a free copy of this book through NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Another great read by Sarah Vaughan! I loved that she delved into the underbelly of motherhood brining to light the harsh reality that motherhood is not all rainbows and roses. I did see the first twist coming a bit, but was blind-sided by the second twist. Brilliant! With wonderfully crafted characters that I loved and a domestic setting that felt familiar, the story felt relatable and has lingered with me well after I finished. Easily an auto-buy author for me.

I was absolutely loving this book in the first half and it had so much potential to be a very good domestic thriller. However, I felt like there was just too much going on with other characters in the book that took away from the main focus and so I dropped a star for that reason. I am interested to see what else this author writes in the future.

When I pick up a thriller, I want to read something new, something that hasn't been written time and time again. I did not get that with this book.

Overall: Even though the story’s pace would be better with some edited parts, I enjoyed the writing, character building and realistic, genuine, argumentative approach of the author. So I stick with my shiny, thrilling four stars for the love of motherhood!

This book was so raw and powerful in such a sinister, but realistic way - I do not have children yet, but this book made me realize how much fear, grief, hope, loss, and all encompassing love is associated with raising children, especially when they are too young to fend for themselves. Chillingly suspense in the fashion of a slow burn, psychological domestic suspense/thriller, this one will have you questioning everything, including whether someone is a monster or merely a parent.

Little Disasters tells the story of Liz and Jess, longtime friends who keep no secrets...right? Liz works as a pediatrician who finds herself at odds with Jess, who has brought her child into the emergency department for treatment. Jess's story doesn't add up, and Liz is left to ask difficult questions. How well does she really know Jess? What is she hiding? And what exactly has been happening behind closed doors?

Gut-wrenching, thought-provoking, and timely, this is a story everyone should read.

I read this book when I was supposed to be painting my rental house. I could not put it down. My husband was a little upset with me, but I had to keep reading!

Liz thinks she knows Jess all too well. They’ve been friends for years, and she can’t imagine anyone more patient and loving with her kids. In one split moment, everything Liz thinks is blown apart.

I have to say this story did a number on my heart because it’s so emotional. Overall, I think Little Disasters is an intriguing, character-driven mystery that’s also thought-provoking and timely.

Old friendships are stretched to breaking point when one of the mothers, Liz a paediatrician doctor finds herself attending to one of her friends injured baby at the Hospital Accident and Emergency Department where she works and is given a story that just doesn’t add up. Suspicions arise and Liz is put into a difficult position.

This story has an air of mystery and is somewhat emotional as it deals with the stresses of motherhood, family, mental illness and trauma. It is well written and I enjoyed the characters and their friendships.

I found once the story got going it became gripping with some unexpected twists that left me thinking long afterwards.

I really wanted to love this book, but it fell short for me. It was extremely drawn out and could have been wrapped up much sooner.

This is one of those heartstring pulling, emotional, “I know where this is going” type of books. But guess what? You don’t know where it’s going.
Postpartum depression is a very real thing, but even now, I think it’s very often ignored and misunderstood. Women still feel so much pressure to be and do everything. Who puts that pressure on them? Good question.
Jess has just had her 3rd child and it’s turned her world upside down. She’s definitely not coping as well as she could be, but she is reluctant to admit this to anyone, including herself, I think.
When the youngest gets hurt, Jess is suddenly under major scrutiny. Not only is the hospital questioning her, but her husband and good friend, Liz the ER doctor are looking at her suspiciously.
I wasn’t too impressed by Anatomy of a Scandal, but I enjoyed this one a lot more. Seriously, you’ll think you know what is going to happen, but you will be surprised. 3.5 ⭐️’s

Great book touching on motherhood, post partum depression, the roles mothers play in modern society and the involvement of fathers in today's busy world. Jess brings her daughter to the hospital to have her checked out after a fall. Her best friend, Liz, just happens to be the doctor on call that night. Unfortunately the baby's injuries do not match up with Jess's story and Liz is forced to call social services and the police. This leads to another series of unfortunate events (little disasters). A good read that makes you understand that what you see is not always what you believe is happening.

This was my second book by Sarah Vaughan I have read after feeling a little lukewarm about her first book but generally liking it I thought I would give this one a go. It was definitely an intriguing plot but I felt like there was just something missing. The characters were interesting and there were some good parts of it but there were also times when I felt the writer used the thesaurus way too much or tried to sound too smart. She used too many words that I had to look up and I am a pretty smart person. You don't need to overcomplicate things! Overall it was just an OK read for me.

I enjoyed this book, it had an interesting plot and a good premise. I definitely found that pieces of it seemed to be over explained and drawn out. I did feel like i was skipping pages here and there just to get through. I was overall invested in the characters though and what happened to them which kept me reading. I enjoy books where each chapter is a different characters perspective so i enjoyed that aspect of it.
