I was so excited to read about Sloan's story! After Sloan's fiance passes away, she has removed herself from the world. But when a dog, Tucker, accidentally ends up falling into her car (literally), Sloan becomes intrigued with Tucker's owner.
I cannot wait to find out more about Sloan's happily ever after! She so deserves it! The preview is charming and laugh out loud funny.
I can already tell I’m reading a 5 star novel by this extended preview.
Thank you Netgalley for sending this preview to me in exchange for my honest feedback.
As a fan of The Friend Zone, I’ve anxiously awaited the follow-up novel that continues a story that was a gut punch to readers. Abby Jimenez writes such heart-stirring stories with characters you only wish you could hang out with. Needless to say, I have this novel on preorder.
The Happy Ever Playlist releases on April 14, 2020.
Wow! Such a fun preview! I can’t wait to read the whole book! I loved The Friend Zone and I know The Happily Ever After Playlist will be just as amazing!
I have read this preview an all I can say is GIVE ME THE REST OF THE BOOK, OMG! I read the first book and I absolutely loved it. It was unexpected and heartbreaking and not at all cookie-cutter, something this genre can be guilty of. Sloan's story is so heartbreaking, I am chomping at the bit to know MORE! She needs her HEA, ASAP!
I recently finished The Friend Zone so I was overjoyed when I was approved for this Extended Preview. I think the beauty in Abby Jimenez’s writing is that it allows each characters' inner monologue to float up from the page and into the readers’ mind seamlessly. Actually, I only came to this realisation whilst reading this excerpt. I’m assuming as a rough draft all the typos and formatting will be taken care of before publishing. The lack of formatting in the excerpt did require rereading in places to confirm the speaker. Four stars from me because I believe the rest of the book will raise it to five. I very much look forward to finishing it in one sitting.
I can’t wait to read the rest of this book!! This is a sneak peek of Sloan’s story. I already love the interaction between Sloan and Jason - and of course Tucker too. Hurry up release date!!
This has a cute opening. I love how each chapter has a different t playlist associated with it. The characters seem likable and the story actually seems pretty interesting. I love how there seems to be the non traditional romance plot of a woman and man falling in love over his lost dog. Thank you for the extended preview!
Aw man! I wish this was the whole book. After enjoying the first book in this series, this preview of The Happy Ever After Playlist has me looking forward to the real thing!
I picked this up before reading the friend zone, so now unfortunately I don't know if I want to read the friend zone!
I got an extended (50 pages) preview from Netgalley. After reading The friend zone and what happened to Sloan and I was so excited to see that she gets a new happily ever after. I can’t wait to read the rest of this book when it comes out! The preview was awesome and I loved getting to know Sloan more and her new buddy, Tucker (spoilers: it’s a dog).
i told myself not to read the preview because i knew it would only lead to heartache because i didn't have the full arc but did i listen? no, i did not. and now i am sad.
I haven’t read the full book - this was just the extended preview, but so far so good. I went into this story tentatively - I was not a fan of The Friend Zone - but reading more about Sloan is enough to have me intrigued. Based on what I’ve read so far I would keep reading this book!
On the second anniversary of the loss of her partner, a dog (Tucker) randomly jumps into the car of Sloan. After searching for the owner, he (Jason) finally makes contact after 2 weeks of being off the grid on a project in Australia. Since he is going to be gone for 2 more weeks, Sloan agrees to watch Tucker until his return. This short preview of "The Happy Ever After Playlist" makes me look forward to the full book when it is published in April.
I devoured this in a matter of minutes and I am DYING to read the entire book. I looooved picking back up with Kristen and Josh and (yay Oliver!!!) and meeting Tucker. I can't wait to read about Sloan's story and how she heals. I love the playlist component and I will be pursuing all of those songs in my ears ASAP. Abby Jimenez's writing really works for me and to say that this is one of my most anticipated books of the year is an understatement. Bring on all the Happy Ever After!!!!
I got only a taste of this book with the preview version. I cant' wait to read the rest. Everything is set up nicely for a lovely read. The characters are charming and I enjoy the banter between the female and male leads. Tucker, the dog, sounds adorable. I can't wait to read the rest!
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the preview of this most anticipated book.
The first half of the book was AMAZING. It had the most wonderful rom-com feel, and I’m not even a fan of that particular genre, but let me tell you, the author did a FABULOUS job. Great flirty and funny banter, witty and smart dialogues – the book had it all.
Thank you to Netgalley for this preview of The Happy Ever After Playlist. It starts with the introduction of Tucker, an adorable dog who wanders into Sloan's life. Still grieving over the loss of her fiancé, Sloan believes it to be a sign and decides to keep Tucker...until his owner, Jason eventually reaches out to get him back. I was hooked from the very beginning. And I can 100% relate to having the love of a dog and all the sunshine that comes with it. Looking forward to the release date to see what happens with Sloan, Jason and Tucker!
Ok, I *loved* this. I have to be honest that I didn't totally love The Friend Zone (which made me sad, I wanted to love it). But I LOVED this preview. I genuinely shrieked "no!" when it ended.
Sloane and Jason are amazing characters. It's so fun to see Sloane come out of her shell like this, and as a crazy dog person I love that a dog brought this on. It's so nice to see Jason full out admit his feelings for Tucker. So often he'd be written to never admit how much he loves his dog. I love how honest both of these characters are being. It's a great use of being able to hide behind technology.
I like the flow of the story. I like the flirting between both characters. I love how Sloane can use Tucker and Kristen to admit things out loud.
I really cannot wait for this to be released.
I have been eagerly anticipating the release of this book since I read The Friend Zone last summer. Reading the extended preview of The Happily Ever After Playlist was such a tease and I can't wait to read the full story this week.
I was left heartbroken for Sloan at the end of TFZ and was a bit scared going in, but four chapters of Sloan in THEAP left me feeling giddy and hopeful. I cannot wait to read more of Sloan and Jason and Tucker.
This was an extended preview for the Happy Ever After Playlist. Although I am excited to read the entire book. As an educator, I would not use this book in any of my courses. However, it was a good, easy read with relevant topics. I enjoyed the book and look forward to the full release in April.
