The Happy Ever After Playlist is an amazing second addition to the Friend Zone universe created by Abby Jimenez. Following Sloane's journey of rebuilding her life and finally finding love again gives a lot of hope to people who may have experienced real loss and lost love. Adding in the fantasy of a rock star life created by Jaxon Waters, it's a balance of fantasy and real life that draws you in and makes the book impossible to put down.
I look forward to reading more from Abby! She is definitely one of the few authors who have been able to keep my attention and really pull me into her world <3
I finished this preview and immediately went out to get the finished work! Having not read the first book in the series, I went in fully expecting a cutesy, lighthearted romcom .... I was wrong, but not mad about it! A healthy balance of meet-cute trope and heart-wrenching scenes was there and I dug it!
So emotional with loveable characters and a fantastic storyline. I'll definitely be reading the full book when I'm able to! I love Abby's writing.
Loved this book so much and all of Abby's books. She dies it again with making you fall in love and then ripping your heart out and putting it all back together again. It was so great to get to hear Sloane's story and find her happy ending!
Be prepared to fall in love with Sloan and go through all the stages of grief with her. And fall in love with Jaxon Waters & his dog with her too.
Yet another amazing book from Abby that I couldn’t wait to read, and once I started I didn’t want to put it down. I’ve read this book on its own and again while listening to the accompanying playlist, and I’ve listened to the audiobook version and it just keeps getting better and better.
Another Abby Jiminez classic. Snappy dialogue, great characters, a cute dog. The Spotify playlist adds to the ambiance as you read. As usual, it’s an emotional roller coaster but un-put-downable. It’s an easy read, which makes it all the more loveable.
I can’t get enough of author Abby Jimenez. This book will have you experiencing every emotion possible. You will laugh, cry, get mad, and be extremely happy. As a music lover, I loved having the playlist to listen to alongside the book.
Read this book. You will not regret it!
Jimenez's wit, humor, and skill at writing a compelling, romance story are at their best in her second novel. Sloan's adventure with a dog will bring laughs in the beginning, but hang on for the "gripping your door handle" ride for the rest of the book! I wanted the book to keep going as I listened to the playlist - how many books have a playlist??
If you’re a fan of The Friend Zone, you’re going to have to hold on to your butt. You’re in for a wild ride, so bring tissues.
Abby has a way digging out those absolutely raw feelings we all have inside and making us live through every gut wrenching moment all over again...and we thank her for it!
So thank you, Abby, for sharing Sloan’s story. It’s hard to believe but I love HEAP even MORE than TFZ (and I loved TFZ so much I bought copies for 10 friends)! I’ve already preordered the kindle version and my signed copy!
You absolutely won’t want to put this book down. I only had to when I realized it was 1:30am and needed to get up in four hours! 🤣 Then I picked it back up and powered through the rest the next afternoon.
Do yourself a favor and read this book. You won’t regret it. My heart STILL aches!
Picking up any Abby Jimenez book will inevitably change your life. Always a wonderful mix of humor, raw emotion and heartbreak, I can never get enough. Her raunchy sarcasm and steamy main characters get me every time but more than that, the amazing friendships and loyalties between her characters leave me yearning to be part of her world as long as possible.
This extended preview was exactly what I needed to get me through until pub day! The character banter and development in this is so real and lovable. Abby does it again with this preview — I can’t even wait to binge the whole book!
I really enjoyed Abby Jimenez's first book, and had concerns about her second book. But it turns out I had no reason for concerns. From and adorable meet cute to Tucker the sidekick, the Happy Ever After Playlist worked for me.
This book is an absolute gift; not your typical romance! Seven hours to read 370-odd pages. I couldn't even put it down long enough to make it last beyond a day, it's THAT good. Abby has an incredible gift, one that can't be denied even by me, someone who scoffs at typical romance novels in favor of sci-fi and fantasy. Just trust me, read it.
The Happy Ever After Playlist gave me all the feels! It's steamy, sexy, adorable, funny, and a delightful feel good romance.

Sloan finds a lost dog and tries to find his owner Jason. But when she does, which is after two weeks, she doesn't want to give him up. She is an LA artist who has been spending the last two years of her life in utter grief and misery after having lost her fiance to an accident. Jason is a singer and a Grammy award winner at that. Tucker, the dog brings them together and their chemistry is magical. Their relationship is sweet, passionate, and respectful and with the help of Sloan's best friends Kristen and Josh, things seem to fall in place.

I loved everything in the first half of the book. Friendship, chemistry, happy banter, humor, and the romance. The second half was a little less exciting and it felt dragged out for no reason. That said the ending was well-written and I should also mention subcharacters like Jason's family and crew.

4 Paws on 5 for this swoony, cute romance!
I was hooked from the very beginning! This was one of my most anticipated reads and ended up being my favourite of the year. I adored Sloan's storyline. This book's meetcute and background struck a personal chord and I absolutely loved the corresponding playlist (and still listen to it on the regular).
I really enjoyed this love story. I was worried the hype would ruin it for me but it was exactly what I was expecting. I loved the characters and I highly recommend.
I just received the preview and boy am I hooked or what!!!!
It's like you just had a first lick of your ice-cream and it's gone fallen down types!!!
Thank you Netgalley and the author publisher for the extended preview..if I could wish for the whole arc it would be great!!!
Definitely finishing the book!!
This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you
A great preview that made me want to pick up the book immediately. I’m excited to see where the story goes. Abby Jimenez has quickly become one of my favorite authors
The Happily Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez is the second book in the Friend Zone series. I was skeptical that anything could top the first book with the range of emotion, but this book delivered. This book starts just under two years after the first book ended and features Sloan who had a very rough go in the first book. (Seriously, she deserved this happy ending.). But it wouldn’t be a good book if she is served that happy ending on a platter.
Sloan falls for a gorgeous boy that runs in front of her car then jumps in through her sunroof. He saves her from her grief, gets her out of her house, and helps her find her spark again. His name is Tucker and he is a lost dog. As his ultimate reward, he introduces her to his gorgeous, rock star owner who muscles in on the story and makes quite a mess of things for a while. Tucker is patient though and his two favorite people finally get their happily ever after.
If you loved the best friend relationship between Sloan and Kristen, never fear, it is back in this book. Kristen’s spark, sass, and support is always there for Sloan and you get to see more of her happily ever after as well.
This is a five-star book. I didn’t always love Jason during the book but I was glad he got his girl in the end.
I am thankful for the electronic copy of an extended preview of this book I received from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. The fully copy was purchased from Amazon in ebook form because I had to finish it immediately.
