Im SO happy i got to read this extended preview. It definitely makes me want to continue reading this book, I always love a good happy ever after that includes a dog!

This story was everything I had hoped it would be. After reading the Friend Zone I needed this story and it did not disappoint. This is emotional and heartbreaking at times but it is also very entertaining and so much fun. Looking forward to whatever this author writes next.

I really liked this extended preview and will definitely read the whole thing. The happy ever ever playlist has a very interesting premise and the writing kept me interested from the very beginning. Looking forward to reading the complete book!

I loved The Friend Zone but OMG I love The Happy Ever After Playlist more!
This story picks up two years after The Friend Zone. Sloan is still grieving the loss of her fiancé while trying to move on with her life. One day while idling at a red light as it turns green and proceeds she slams on her brakes because she sees a copper colored furry blur jump in front of her car. This dog leaps through her sunroof and onto her lap.
After trying and not finding the dog’s owner she decided to keep it. Enter Jason the musician who just got home from touring to find out his dog is lost.
Jason finally gets in touch with Sloan to get his dog back but Sloan doesn’t want to return the dog just yet.
My friends, this is where the story takes you on this wonderful ride. It has its laugh out loud moments, just the right amount of steam, some stalking and vandalism, heartbreaking moments and heartwarming friendships.

I love getting attached to characters and being able to read more about them in subsequent books. The Friend Zone was excellent and The Happy Ever After Playlist is fantastic! I enjoyed getting to see how these characters were doing after some time had passed and I was ready to see Sloane move on after her tragic loss. The addition of a totally sexy rock star and getting to see a bit of the rock star lifestyle was fascinating, and his dog? I fell in love.
Beautifully written and with truly likeable characters this book is at the top of my favorites list! If it's not on your wishlist, it should be.

I loved Abby Jimenez's first books so I was exited for this one, and the preview did not disappoint. Sloan and Jason had instant chemistry even over the phone and via text. Their meet cute and banter were great, and I loved getting to check in on the characters from her first novel.

Abby Jimenez is a top favorite writer of mine. Reading her work tugs at your heartstrings and makes you bust out laughing (especially if you're listening to the audiobook!) because she is just TOO funny. Sloan was easy to love and Jason was exactly what a reader wants in a romance novel. Abby has a fresh spin on romance - for sure not the run of the mill - same story, change names, rinse and repeat attitude towards writing. Her first book, The Friend Zone was a huge hit with me and I was glad to see their story continue on with Sloan as she grapples with the loss of her fiancé and Jason, the newly minted musician. I loved the book, laughed as I read the book walking down the road nightly. I cannot wait to read Abby's next book and I just love her writing so much!

Really enjoyed this preview!! I was slightly bummed when it ended. Having not read anything by this author before, I am definitely intrigued and have already started googling her other works. The Happy Ever After Playlist seemed well written, and I loved the easy banter between the two lead characters. Will be looking into purchasing this novel in the near future!

I highly recommend this book. If you have a few hours, read it in one sitting. Sloan lost her fiancee in a tragic accident and Jason is focused on getting his music career off the ground. This is not your typical musician romance. This book has it all, romance, emotional connection and everything in between. If you you enjoy reading about real relationships, where you get to know and understand the characters, and feel for them as though you're there with them going through it then READ this book.

This was just the first four chapters of this book
I had never read anything by this author before but the description sounded so great. It did not disappoint. The first four chapter sucked me in to the point that I immediately went and baught the full book.
Sloan is two years into a grieving period and ready to continue grieving. Then one day she stoppes i the middle of the road to avoid hitting a dog. A dog who jumps into her car through her broken sunroof, and then ends up going home with her. This crazy dog turns out to be the best thing that happens to her. He, his name is Tucker, gets her out of her funk, he gets her out of her house. He is the reason she meets Jason. Who's Jason, the owner of the crazy dog.
These first few chapters were so great. I can't wait to see what the rest of the book brings. I am not posting this review to any of my sites as it is just the first 4 chapters and I baught the full book and will post the review of the that once I am done.

I was anticipating this book so much especially after I fell in love with The Friend Zone, and this one did not disappoint!! Jason and Sloan’s witty banter and relationship kept me smiling and laughing and crying and smiling again while reading it. Sloan was so much more developed in this book; she thrived and grew as a person and I was rooting her on the whole time. Also, I adore Kristen and Sloan’s friendship; it’s the kind of friendship people dream about! Overall, 5 stars from me!

I am so excited to read this book. I really enjoyed Abby Jimenez's previous nove'l "The Friend Zone." I'm already getting all the feels from the preview. The banter and the premise already has me chuckling and engaged. Jimenez has a very distinctive voice and I think it comes out in these few chapters. Definitely excited to read the full book..

I love the chemistry with Sloan and Jason right off the bat! Also anything with a dog or cat involved has me intrigued. Cant wait to read the rest of the book!

I appreciate being given a preview of this book but am so sad that I now have to wait to order it to read the rest!. The banter in this book back and forth between Sloan and Jason was absolutely hilarious. And when Sloan's friend Kristen was talking about prepping her for her potential date with Jason, brazilian wax and all, LOL'
I can already tell that this is going to be a quick read. Once I receive the book and finish reading it, I will follow up with my thoughts on the remaining book and then post on my Goodreads, Instagram and blog.
Thanks again for the sneak peek!

2 stars
I think it's time for me to accept that Abby Jimenez's books just aren't for me. I want to love them as much as everyone else seems to, but I just can't. I wanted to like this book so much that I actually pre-ordered a hard copy of the book (which I NEVER do, to my shame) and waited to start it until I received it in the mail a whole two days after its release, despite also owning the ebook (and an early-release preview).
The summary led me to believe that the book had the makings to fulfill a few of my guilty pleasure romcom book kinks:
An original (if somewhat unrealistic) meet cute ✅
An antagonistic relationship at the start ✅
The antagonism slowing turning to friendship and then to something more ✅
A heartthrob celebrity falling for the girl next door ✅
Unfortunately, it failed to deliver on these promises, at least for me. The meet cute was satisfying enough, but the "antagonism" (if you can even call it that) lasted approximately two pages, and by page 50 Sloan and Jason were already desperately and hopelessly in love. No slow-burn romance here. Insta-love only. And I'm just not that into you, insta-love.
It's the same reason I DNF'd The Friend Zone not even half way through it. Except this time around, I decided to suck it up and just finish the book, hoping that it would get better. No such luck; I wish I had DNF'd this one, too. I ended up disliking the book more the more of it I read. After Sloan and Jason inevitably got together--I don't even consider this a spoiler since it happens practically in the beginning--the rest of the book was just 200 or so pages of dumb drama and easily surmountable "obstacles" (I use this word generously) that felt like fluffy filler.
Needless to say, I'm returning the book. I definitely won't be rereading it, and I'm too short on bookshelf space to keep a book I didn't enjoy, no matter how eye-catching its cover is.

I received an extended preview of The Happy Ever After Playlist from NetGalley and the best review I can give for that preview is that, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, I put on a mask, left my house, and went on the hunt for this book during an "essentials run" at Target because I HAD TO KNOW what happened next!
Sloan Monroe is in a slump. Actually, "a slump" is a bit unfair because I, too, would be a wreck two years after my fiance died in an accident. But on the second anniversary of her love's passing, a dog, I kid you not, jumps into the sunroof of her car on the way to her fiance's gravesite. Her new pet, Tucker, brings Sloan out of her grief and into the world of the living...until Tucker's owner responds to the weeks of unanswered texts and voicemails Sloan left and he wants his dog back.
Understandably, Sloan isn't going to give up Tucker without protest. Tucker's other owner, Jason, is a musician on tour in Australia. As Sloan and Jason exchange flirty texts and calls, they bond over their love of Tucker. But what is going to happen when Jason gets back in town? Can Jason really be there for Sloan (or Tucker) when his music career is on the rise? Can Sloan open up her heart to another man, risking another heartbreak?
Look, I'm a sucker for a book about a dog. And owners who love them. And second-chances at love. And a little rivals-to-lovers. Honestly, this book was made for me and I can thoroughly give it a full 5 stars...and I haven't even finished it yet.

I was immediately drawn to Sloan, the main character who can only laugh as her bad day becomes unbelievable as a stray dog jumps in her sunroof as she avoids hitting it along the road. Sloan is grieving her dead fiancé and luck has it the owner of the dog is out of the country and they strike up an interesting, flirty game of cat and mouse.
I keep finding myself giggling and connecting with these two as I’m listening to their quick and witty flirty banter!
I cannot believe the book stopped at chapter 7, I am buying the book now as I have so many question and predictions as to what happens next.

I was obsessed with the Friend Zone, so getting this advanced copy of the first 7 chapters was a dream!
I cried in the Friend Zone when Brandon died and Sloan was left all alone. That was a twist I didn’t see coming! So I was ecstatic when Abby Jimenez announced she was making a Sloan centric book. In the first 7 chapters, I was hooked on wanting to know how Jason and Sloan’s love story would play out. I love the meet cute with his dog and their relationship blossoming over the phone. The relationship seemed very authentic and I loved the addition of songs to each chapter. I ended up getting the full book before I could write this review and the ending was so satisfying. I was sad to say bye to Sloan and Jason, but they got the ending they deserved.

I really enjoyed reading this preview and I am going to go and get this book but since it was not the full book I was not able to right a full review on this book

I've heard great things about this book, and after reading this preview I can tell it's all true. The story starts out with Sloane still grieving over the loss of her fiance. A dog literally jumps into her life and teaches her how to live again. I am rooting for Sloane and Jason, and cannot wait to get my hands on the full book.
