from the premise I was hooked, and let me tell you I really enjoyed this book, it had exactly what I was looking for. The characters were great and the story did not disappoint.

Not knowing this book was a sequel, I felt a little discombobulated in the opening chapters, with terms and characters thrown at me with expectations of awareness. However, Mist did a nice job of letting you come up to speed organically through the first few chapters, rather than getting bogged down in heavy-handed exposition. I found myself rooting for Leia in her adventures across the pond, thoroughly enjoying the action meets spy-thriller antagonists and stories. I'll have to go back and start from the beginning with Mist's first book in the series, but if it was as well written as Nocturnal Farm, it should be a pleasure to read.

Normally this wouldn't be the type of book I read but since I read the first book and was positive surprised I had to read this book too. And as before I was again very positive surprised by how good its written and how much I enjoyed it.
The main character Leia is still a little bit naive but an authentic and good written character that improves since part one bit by bit. The createt fantasy world with their rules stil is fascinating and the plot is well thought out. I also liked the writing style, and the cover looks much better than the last on. A nice second part.
