Dance Class: Letting It Go is about a stunning "Snow Queen" dress going missing before the big performance. The blame falls on Carla. Carla, with the help of her friends, must save the dress to prove herself innocent and to save the show. It was a cute read geared for younger readers. I did not feel like I had missed out on anything by not reading previous books in the series.
This book was given to me an an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley in an exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
The "Dance Class" series is such a popular graphic novel series in my collection. This latest is sure to be a welcomed addition.
In this particular book, the whole Dance Class is skittish when the beautifully designed dress for "The Snow Queen" dance disappears. The illustrations are vivid and the dialogue easy for the reader to comprehend.
Prior knowledge of the graphic novel series Dance Class is not necessary to read this work, the tenth installment. The art is appealing and borrows extensively from Disney's Frozen film series, so fans of that film are likely to be interested. The language used is simple, so it could function as a possible hi-lo reader. I have small relatives that will enjoy this book (and, I suspect, the entire series) once they get a little bit older
ARC Copy...although the fledgling ballet dancers are going to love the slice of life dynamics and hijinks involving daily dance lessons, a missing dress and social jinxes. Interesting the story of the ballet resembles the original fairytale more but...the visual similarities of the ballet also seems VERY close to the Disney movie (even the subtitle is punning Frozen)
My daughter and I reviewed Dance Class together. Both of us really enjoyed reading it.
Dance Class is a graphic novel that students of all ages will enjoy. My daughter is in kindergarten and she was able to read this text with little support.
The story follows a group of dancers that have run into a huge problem. The beloved Ice Queen's costume has been stolen and fingers are being pointed.
It will be up to the dancers to not only prepare for the show, but also find the missing costume!
