I have heard a lot about the intermittent fasting diet and I wanted to know more about it. I found this book extremely helpful to understand the process and to begin this way of eating. I can't tell you yet if it helps in my weight loss but I am hoping for the best.
This really gave some great tips. I’ve been thinking of intermittent fasting for some time. It was good to read about how it affects women.
Thanks to NetGalley and Callisto Media - Rockridge Press for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
A really short book that gets straight to the point about intermittent fasting. It was actually refreshing to read something that doesn't go in crazy detail about every medical thing on this topic. As a person who is new to possibly trying intermittent fasting, I found this book very helpful and informative. It was easy to read and understand which is something that can be difficult to do with dietary books. I also liked that she has a section on who shouldn't do fasting and the reasons why--you normally don't see this type of thing in books like this. She lists out helpful meal/fasting plan examples with times which is super helpful for people not really knowing where to start. I didn't realize there were different types of fasting and you should pick which ever you feel most comfortable with/fits your schedule best.
Overall, decent read--definitely recommend to women who are interested in intermittent fasting and want to know more about it but not bombarded with TOO much information.

Great book explains fasting as compared to starvation. Explains different ways to fast and how to use it in terms of health and weight loss. I am on keto diet and have wanted to try fasting but didn’t know were to start. This book helped.
I read and reviewed this advanced complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley
Recently I've begun to partake in intermittent fasting and I am already reaping in the benefits. This book really highlights how IF can help women, and how it works differently for women than men. I learned a lot here, and will have plenty of things to keep in mind for the future.
FYI, I rotate between 13 hour and 16 hour fasts, and so far, it's working. I'm eating healthier in-between my non-fasting times.
Good luck to you if this is your journey!

The book covers what fasting is and how it impacts the female body, in easy to understand but still detailed terms. There are sample meal plans, both daily and weekly, and info on different types of fasts - variety of options on how many hours to spend fasting. Tools and tips section answers lots of FAQs and has basic recipes, mostly for broths or drinks. I found the sample meal plans to be helpful related to time but extremely specific in terms of the food items listed yet without recipes forreview.
This could be a helpful guide for a woman wanting to learn more about intermittent fasting, but I think more resources would be needed to choose what to eat.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest reivew.

Intermittent fasting is becoming popular and I didn't know much about it prior to reading this book. The author lays out the benefits of this weight loss method and also provides information on how to safely fast. The author provided several different options, as not every method works for everyone. I found this to extremely beneficial to read.

It has charts and time graphs, food suggestions. It even has some recipes. This is the Bible of fasting! I am excited to try it!

There's a q and a section which will start you off well with the information provided.
I loved how the book focused on females, explaining how our metabolism and what we eat affects our bodies differently than men.
"Far from depriving yourself, you’ll alternate periods of fasting and periods of nutritious eating to reset your metabolism—helping you lose weight, regulate your hormones, and slow down aging."
Highly recommended.

A small little book that packs quite the punch in the few pages it is. Starting with the basics which I really enjoyed, it describes the true definition of fasting and the different types of fasting that can occur. I loved the focus on female between how some fasts can work and at other times of the month you may need to make adjustments. The book was so forgiving which I liked because we as women need a little forgiveness at different points in our life and rigid schedules don't work.
I loved how educational it was, but it still felt as though my educated best friend was telling me pros and cons and giving me the permission to try and fail through this book.
I will keep this book for future reference as I think about my eating habits and how I want them to look.
I recently started focusing on intermittent fasting upon the recommendation of a doctor due to wanting to lose weight, regulate my gut health, and manage my hormone levels. This quick, easy to read and understand book offered different methods while providing the reasoning behind each and even offered meal ideas to help get me started. The book is divided into 4 chapters that break down the idea of fasting, the benefits for the female body (cisgender focus), meal plans, and tools and tips. The charts and plans help to break everything down for easy implementation. The FAQ section addresses many questions I had about intermittent fasting and how to listen to my body for clues about success. If you are curious about the idea of time tested ideas or want more information before starting the process, this is a great book to get you started.
Thank you, NetGalley and publisher for the ebook ARC of this work in exchange for my honest review.
