Captivating characters in a well-developed and magical world - this excerpt left me even more excited about Cordelia, James and Lucie's journey! Clare's writing makes the demons and creatures come to life. In addition, the setting in London is absolutely perfect. I can't wait to read this series.

Although I haven't read the rest of the series, the first pages are enough to make me want to. There seems to be a whole new universe to discover within an already known one. The author has a great style, way much better than in her first books, and that alone makes the reading more attractive.

I am not a fan of this. I forced myself to read this excerpt . Everyone I know loves this author but she is just for me.

I am so excited for this release! All of the characters are so interesting, and I already have several ships forming. Thomas Lightwood is the sweetest, and how on Earth could anyone NOT love Lucie Herondale? I still need to be sold on Cordelia and James, but I am certain that Cassandra Clare can be the one to do it!

Can't wait to read the whole book! I think it is very interesting to see more of this world in the Victorian era, which adds up to the idea that the Infernal Devices is my favorite trilogy from Cassandra.

Oh I am so happy to be back in Clare’s shadowhunter world. I have missed it!

Considering the cast of these books are coming off of the Infernal Devices cast I can’t imagine I’ll have anything it love (and immeasurable heartache if history is to repeat itself) are anything to go by.

The prologue already has me itching to plunge deeper into Lucie’s life. I cannot WAIT for t(e book to be published!

A intriguing start to what I am sure will be another great Cassandra Clare trilogy. The characters, the worlds, the demon fighting from he beginning makes me want to rush out and buy the rest of the book. It has been while since I have read a Cassandra Clare book, but I am looking forward to continuing with this one.
Thank you for the opportunity of reading this advanced excerpt.

Another little sneak peek into my thoughts based on a book! This excerpt only contained one chapter from Chain of Gold, the book to start the series I've literally been waiting yearsssss for. Really. I remember this series getting announced like, half a decade ago. Needless to say, I am very excited to return not just to this world, but to these characters.

Tessa.
Gray.
Will.
Herondale.

Two of my favs. I'm excited to see everybody though: Cecily, Charlotte, Gideon, Sophie, etc., etc., and. . . Jem. *swoons* I know that the series follows their children, and I'm looking forward to getting to know them all, but there's something tenderly nostalgic about being able to check in on the characters we said good-bye to in The Infernal Devices.

So- the non-spoilery tea. Here it is:
I want more.
Even if there was more to the excerpt than the first chapter, I think I'd still be saying this. We all know Cassandra Clare is a phenomenal writer and her characters are so robust, but I'm genuinely curious about the plot of this trilogy now. There's a very brief moment before the first chapter that I won't describe at all (muahahaha), but I'll just say it is a solid hook. I'm in. I was before for the characters, but now I'm in for the plot as well. There's not much more I can say besides that I want more. There was a hook, some setup, and some introductions, but nothing much more substantive to comment on. This excerpt was like being able to smell a delicious meal- it was great, but now I just want the meal even more.

I can’t access it 😭 I don’t know what is wrong but I can’t open it. This give me an incomparable file with no way to send it to my kindle or download it as an ePub

The prologue and the first chapter are very intriguing and interesting. I really think this will be one of the best Cassandra Clare's books

I missed these characters SO much. Cassie's books were my favorites when I was younger and TDI was definitely the trilogy I needed at that moment.
Now, they're all here: Herondales, Faichilds, Cartairs, Lightwoods and Blackthorns. All the big families all together from the very beginning and I love it.
This first chapter was perfect and I can't wait to read Chain of Gold.

It's so hard to write a short review with only a chapter, but here we go : *sigh* I was so SO glad to come back to this universe, even for one chapter ! The Infernal Devices is my favourite shadowhunter's series, and it's such a delight to be back.

In this first chapter, we get to know the new characters : Lucy and James (Tessa's and Will's children), Cordelia and Alistair Carstairs... The latters settle in the Herondale estate in London with their mothers, following the arrest of Elias Carstairs, their father. A trial has to take place, and Cordelia will do everything to protect her father. In the meantime, it's been a few months demons are hard to find in London and Shadowhunters start to wonder what's could possibly going on. Besides, some love stories begin to blossom as we learn to know the few characters introduced. I cannot wait for its release, and read the whole book !

Thank you so much for an opportunity to read an excerpt of this book. I’m so glad that Cassandra Clare is continuing on in the shadow hunter world. I have invested so much time and energy into this world and I love that it’s still going strong. It’s always hard to adjust to new characters whenever a new series starts up but I have faith that I’ll fall in love with this book as well.

Love this sneak peek! It's so great to be back into the Shadowhunter universe! I love the return of old characters and the introduction of new ones. I can already tell this is going to a great book that will build off of the Infernal Devices trilogy. Even just a taste of this story tells me that it's going to be a classic Cassandra Clare story that will be much like her past ones but in a new setting and situation. Can't wait to get the full book on March 3rd!

I was planning to wait and read this excerpt a little closer to the books release date because I knew it would just make me wish I had the book sooner and I was right. I cannot wait to dive back in to one of my favorite fictional universes with a new cast of characters! Just from this brief snippet I already have so many questions and theories so I know the book will have me totally hooked from start to finish!

I hope this introduction gets better, because I was always team Jem and here it doesn't come out much, but I hope it gets better in the whole book.

Am I the only one who loves reading sneak peaks? It’s like a movie trailer for a book. You get a little taste of it and it makes you want it even more. This sneak peek has me so excited for March 3rd. The book opens up with Lucie Herondale's memory of when she was young. She gets lost in the forest and meets a boy there, thought we don’t know who. Fast forward 6 years, to 1903, where we meet James Herondale and his friends, hunting for demons in London. We learn that the Carstairs family is moving here to escape a trial. We get a glimpse of a possible love triangle in the making as well as future parabatai plans. I highly recommend you grab this new Shadowhunters installment by Cassandra Clare!
