I love this author's work, though this one wasn't my faves. 3.5 Stars.

Erin Bellini gets dumped by her fiance, in an EMAIL, 3 days before her wedding. So, since everything is already paid for, and the venue is her family's vineyard in small town Oklahoma, she decides to throw a party anyway, to not let all the food, music, etc. go to waste. Also, she wants revenge. A revenge fling, to be exact, with her fiance's best friend, who is also her very good friend since childhood. What could go wrong, right?!

Jason Callum is in a bit of a difficult position. His best friend just broke up with his other best friend, 3 days before their wedding. Now, Erin is making noise about wanting to sleep with him, and that puts him in an even more difficult spot, as he's had feelings for her for years, but stepped back when she and Owen started dating. Now his feelings are popping back up, and he doesn't think he'll be able to handle just being her rebound fling, when he wants so much more from her.

Jason and Erin had mega chemistry, since their small part in the prequel novella, The Matchmaker's Mistletoe Mission. Even back then, I could see that she was likely engaged to the wrong man, and it was fascinating watching how it all worked out. I really enjoyed their connection, but Erin seemed oblivious to the strength of it, which was interesting to me. Also, even later when it comes out that he's cared for her, as more than friends, for a long time, she's surprised, and they don't really discuss it further. She just doesn't seem like the most insightful woman, when it comes to people and relationships, where as in business, she's awesome. Also, her avoidance tactics started to get a little bit tiresome for me, when it came to facing her ex.

The side characters (and PETS!) here were great, especially the couple from the first novella, along with Erin's sisters. I'm definitely looking forward to getting their stories in the future. The "villain" here, the ex-fiance, Owen, isn't actually IN much of the book, so you're left wondering for quite a while what his reasons were for leaving, especially since all these great people were good friends with him, and were shocked by his actions, as Erin was. That whole situation, without giving any spoilers, threw me a bit. It made it hard to know how to feel about him, and I'm not sure I loved that choice. I'm wondering if this is because he'll be getting his own book later, or something? We shall see.

I really loved the Bellini family, and their awesome family business. They really made you fall for them, and want the sisters' stories too. Jason and Erin had a lot to come to terms with in order to be together, and I liked their slow journey into love. But, there were other things that weren't my favorite, and for me, that balanced me out at 3.5 Stars.

4.5 stars!! I really liked this first book in this new Jaci Burton series. Erin and Jason are both wonderful and complex characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this storyline, the Bellini family and the setting. I also really liked the twist that is thrown in towards the end of the story. It is difficult for Jason and Erin at first to give in to their feelings given he is her ex-fiance's best friend and they definitely do struggle with that in different ways. All in all though this is such a nice feel-good romance with an easy flowing story that is so easy to get caught up in. I look forward to more in this series and more of the Bellini family.

This is the first book in this series for Jaci Burton and it was a great read so I am looking forward to the other books in the series. It was the type of romance where you keep on reading because you know who is going to get together in the book and you just want to read about it happening. There were many times when I wanted to give the main characters a push so they would just get together however it was much more fun to read the whole story! I liked the twist with the ex fiance, however there were many hints throughout the book so the twist did not come as a huge surprise. It is a great HEA book and an awesome beach read!!!

There is no way to look at this cover and not fall in love with it. This is a great cover that tells you what is going on inside the book. I was so excited to start this new series by Jaci Burton. I read the novella that started it and really enjoyed it and got to know the family a little bit. Just that small glimpse told me that I wanted more.

Knowing from the novella that Erin was engaged I wasn't sure how the author going to tell her story. I never read the description of the authors that I read all the time so I went in blind. I didn't even know who was next.

Right away when I figured out it was Erin's book I wasn't sure what would happen but kinda knew the marriage wasn't going to happen and I was right. I felt so bad for Erin and what she was going through. You could feel her hurt come off the pages. I along with her family and friends wanted to smash him in the face.

I got a little too into the story can you tell. Ha!

Right away I could see that Jason is perfect for her. He loves her and stands by her so that tells me everything. He wouldn't even talk to Owen until after he explained everything to Erin first. I liked that about him. He's such a great guy.

Together these two work. I can't say that Owen and she wouldn't have worked because you don't see much of them together.

Even though this is a great story I did have one or two issues with it. At times the story moved slowly but I was okay with that because I really liked all the characters and I didn't care for how the Owen story was handled. I won't say much because I don't want to ruin it for you but I knew it would happen the way it did and I wasn't wrong. It didn't make it or breast the story for me but it didn't sit right either.

In the end, all turned out the way it should have. I'm glad we got a better taste of the family and I can't wait for the next book in the series. Her sister's stories should be good.

You have to admire Erin Bellini's gumption to continue with her wedding reception after her fiancé sends her a Dear John letter at the eleventh hour.  But, it's Jason Callum whom you have to love when he creates a reception committee to warn the guests to enjoy themselves and not question Erin about what happened. Erin decides she wants a revenge relationship on the rebound and who better to execute that plan with but the best man.  The rest is history but the telling is what will keep you reading and chuckling and even shedding a tear or two.
Jason has loved Erin from afar from a very long time but held back due to his friendship. In fact he was with her the night when their best friend asked her out before he could. Now he's hard pressed to resist her entreaties to make her feel good by having sex with her. He's playing the long game and a few cold showers will be worth it in the long run.
Just when things are looking up, the ex is back on the scene with a legitimate reason if misguided reason for calling off the wedding. Is Jason going to be left hanging on the side again? A slow moving sweet romance with a cute cast of characters from one of my favorite authors.

Erin Bellini was set to wed Owen in just two days when he sent her an email to break things off. Erin decided since everything was paid for they would have a non-wedding party. Erin also decided what would be the best revenge on Owen......have a fling with Jason Callum, who just happens to be Owen's best friend and who would have been the best man in their wedding. Problem was Jason has always had strong feelings for Erin and he wants more than just a quick fling.....he wants it all.

As Erin and Jason spend more time together, she starts to realize that there is more to Jason than she ever realized. When her heart starts to get involved, Erin starts to pull back but then quickly realizes that she misses Jason. Just as Erin is ready to have a relationship with Jason, Owen finally shows his face and tries to explain why he broke things off. Erin feels guilty about being with Jason and it will take a lot of soul searching for her to realize who she truly belongs with. The best part is she makes peace with both Owen and Jason and is ultimately happy with her choice.

I really enjoyed this story. It was fun seeing how a non-wedding would throw people's lives into a tailspin. It was cute seeing Erin and Jason together, as well as the relationship between Erin and Owen. I also loved both of Erin's sisters....hopefully they will both be getting their own stories! Overall this was a fun story that kept me entertained.

I could not put this book once I started. I was so excited to start this new series and loved every minute of The Best Man Plan.

Erin is all set to get married and it’s almost the day to walk down the aisle. When she gets an email from her fiancé, she wasn’t expecting him to call off the wedding. She has no clue what’s going on and why he called off the wedding.

Jason is there for Erin and was supposed to be the best man in her wedding. He grew up with Erin and her fiancé. Jason has always wanted more from Erin, he didn’t just want to be her friend. Erin leans on Jason and realizes there is more there between them. He doesn’t want to be just a one night stand he wants more with her.

I loved watching Jason and Erin’s relationship change. I can’t wait for more in this series.

I love Jaci Burton books but this one just fell short for me. It felt rushed from the beginning and I couldn’t connect with the characters like I really tried to. It was a cute story but just not was I was looking for.

Jaci Burton is one of my go-to romance authors. I really enjoyed her Play-by-Play series and the Hope series, so I was really excited to receive an advance copy of her newest book The Best Man Plan. Unfortunately, this book wasn’t “it” for me.
In The Best Man Plan Erin has just been jilted by her fiancé 3 days before her wedding. She turns to her long-term friend Jason for comfort, and eventually they begin to sleep together. I couldn’t connect with Erin’s character and didn’t really feel the chemistry between her and Jason. At the beginning, Erin acts so blasé about risking their friendship in order to have revenge sex, and it would have been great to see a bit more vulnerability from Jason, especially since he’s supposedly been in love with Erin for years. Even at the end of the novel, after Erin found out from her ex-fiance that Jason has probably loved her since before they started dating, it isn’t even brought up!
The fact that the Erin, her ex-fiancé and Jason are all long-term friends adds another layer of weirdness to the story and the fact that Jason never acted on his feelings before.

This book was fine. It had Avery typical jumping off point of a girl getting left at the alter and finding someone new. It seemed to follow every typical beat, and while the reason she was left at the Lter was a twist, it still seemed like a pretty formulaic book.

Three days before her wedding Erin Bellini is dumped by her fiance' in an email. She's hurt and embarrassed and decides that a hot affair with the best man will be a great revenge.

Jason Callum is the best man and friends to both the almost bride and almost groom. When Erin suggests a revenge affair he is not sure that's a good idea. He has always had secret feelings for Erin but kept silent.

But they eventually begin a hot, steamy affair that leads to confusing feelings for Erin. It's not confusing for Jason because he always knew what he felt. In order for Erin to figure out what she is feeling she has to confront her ex-fiance' and resolve their issues. The confrontation is not what she was expecting.

Erin gets dumped by her fiancé Owen two days before their wedding. Via e-mail! To mend her broken heart, she seeks out the would’ve been best man aka their childhood best friend, Jason—the town’s veterinarian—to be her “revenge fling.” What could possibly make this dangerous territory? Besides the fact that Jason has been secretly in love with Erin and Owen reappears weeks after with the explanation everyone’s been waiting for.

This is my first Jaci Burton book and boy can the woman write steam. While I enjoyed the story, the premise, and the main characters, the beginning and ending I thought were the best parts. What was missing in the middle? Couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I liked how the people were all just normal people existing, like there was a lot of y’all about ADLs (activities of daily living). But I also wanted more life, more spunk? Erin’s inner struggles with needing but not wanting to talk to Owen drove me a little bonkers, but I understood where she was coming from. I loved Erin’s relationships with her sisters though, and the vineyard setting. AND there was an Irish bachelor mentioned... wondering if he’s the leading man in the next book!

Jaci Burton's at her best. Real-life people who have real jobs and life commitments. Loved the more detailed male perspective. Very well written with a mix of laugh, sex, drama and discoveries.

Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for an Advanced Reader Copy.

What should you do when your forever decides that he doesn't want the same with you just a few days before your wedding? Well....turn that wedding reception to a party that the town will never forget and have a fling with the best man of the wedding. Unfortunately the best man wants more than a fling and that is where the fun begins.

Dr. Jason Callum is a small-and-large animal veterinarian. He has always had feelings for Erin Bellini. When his best friend jilts her, Jason steps in to help Erin deal with the aftermath. He hesitates when she proposes a fun yet emotionless fling. Jason wants forever. Can Jason persuade Erin to take a chance with them? Or will she break his heart?
Erin Bellini handles the business part of her family’s vineyard and wedding venue. She is devastated when her fiancé breaks up with her days before their wedding via email. Erin decides a ‘revenge fling’ is what she needs. However, the man she has in mind balks at the idea. Will Erin’s no-strings-attached fling turn into true love? Or will she ruin her friendship with Jason?
Jason is an absolute doll. I love his concern over Erin’s wounded feelings. Even though he felt conflicted between his two friends, Jason knew that Erin needed him more. He had no ulterior motives in helping her. What I adore the most about Jason is his morals. He continuously refuses to take advantage of Erin when she is most vulnerable. Instead, he holds back his wants and desires until she is more receptive to them.
I had a tough time connecting with Erin. She came off too bossy and pushy for my tastes. I understand, even empathize, with Erin’s need for revenge. However, I did not like that she was willing to jeopardize a friendship to achieve it. I like Erin’s closeness with her sisters and family. They look after each other. Also, they are not afraid to step into another’s business when the need arises. What I like the most about Erin is her willingness to adopt and care for the stray she found. That really helped me warm up towards her.
THE BEST MAN PLAN is book one in Jaci Burton’s new contemporary-romance series, BOOTS AND BOUQUESTS. The premise of the story intrigued me enough to want to read this book. It did not disappoint. I like how the author incorporates dogs into the story without them dominating the plot. Of course, being a dachshund mom, I adore that one showed up briefly in the book.
THE BEST MAN PLAN is a fun and cute friends-to-lovers tale. I cannot wait to see which Bellini sister is next. I hope the author plans to pair Brenna with Finn.

I love Jaci Burton's sweet, sassy romance books. This unfortunately is not one of my favorites. We are introduced to the Bellini family and get to know the strong women that include Erin and her sisters. Erin is dumped by her childhood sweetheart, Owen, 3 days before their wedding in an email. Jason, her other childhood friend and Owen's best friend, unknowingly has been in love with Erin for years. Erin wants to seek her revenge by having a no-strings attached affair with Jason.

I had a hard time buying into the romance between Erin and Jason, as they lacked chemistry. As I usually love everything that Jaci Burton writes, I will still give the other books in the series a try.
Thank you to the publisher, via NetGalley, for providing me with an arc for review. This has in no way influenced my opinion.

The Best Man Plan is a sweet, friends to lovers romance! I enjoyed reading Erin and Jason's story and look forward to more as they come! Jaci has the perfect romance here and I think many readers will agree that it will be a must read this summer.

The Best Man Plan is the first in a new series by Jaci Burton. Erin Bellini expected her wedding to go off with a hitch, instead she gets dumped in an email. Jason Callum has been in love with Erin for years, even though she was with his best friend. When Erin decides she wants some no-strings fun they agree to a no-strings affair. Except, Jason wants those strings and Erin isn’t sure she can trust her judgement. Can Jason convince her that he’s worth the risk?

Jaci Burton is an author I've read several times over and enjoy her style and characters. She’s always writing books that draw me in and this latest one is no different. I loved Jason, he was the exact mix of alpha and sweet that I've been wanting in my heroes lately. I especially liked that he was open with his feelings, not just for Erin but when work as a vet got too hard for him sometimes. Erin held her own against him as a good match and was intelligent and capable. She didn’t let being left at the altar bring her down for too long. I appreciated that Burton really gave us the space to see them not just as lovers but as friends.

What didn’t work for me was the amount of weight the ex-fiance was allowed to hold over much of the story. It was hard to enjoy the time Erin and Jason had together with the spectre of Owen always in the background. For much of the book he’s teased as a third wheel to Jason and Erin’s relationship and I found Erin’s waffling to be tiresome after a while. For a woman that went from sad to mad in seconds after receiving the break up email I had a hard time believing that she would let Owen hold that much leverage over her life.

Thankfully, Burton writes a story that resolved all of my questions in a very satisfying way. I did want to see Erin and Jason spend more time really talking about their feelings and their relationship. I felt like we spent too much time on other characters that were being set up for additional books, when we could have been enjoying time with the main couple. In general this is a peeve of mine when it comes to series and I wish that authors would just organically let the next book follow the story rather than shoving the potential new couples into the first book.

Overall, this story was fun and sexy with enough angst to satisfy me. I liked Erin and Jason together and their chemistry in bed was on fire. I think some of the next stories in the series will be really exciting and I’ll definitely be picking them up when they come out. I’d recommend this to anyone that’s a fan of fun and sexy series like the Blue Moon series by Lucy Score or the Paradise Valley series by Jessica Prince.

Jaci Burton is a favorite of mine as I have read several of her different series. This is the beginning of a new series. The Best Man Plan is set in a small town where everyone knows everyone and when Erin's fiancee breaks up with her with an email (really?) and she is not so much broken up and mad. So she decides to go on with the party that would have happened at the wedding and just enjoy herself. Enter hottie Jason. Best friend to Owen, the scum that broke up with Erin. Jason and Erin have been friends for years and so she decides that he is the perfect person to use to get back at Owen. Well...things don't go quite the way Erin plans. How will it turn out? Will Erin get the guy, but which guy? Hmm, Owen finally turns back up and then there is Jason. Will true love prevail? Only way to find out is to read The Best Man Plan.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an ARC for an honest review.
