I seriously enjoyed One Summer In Nashville. New-to-me author Mandy Baggot really made this an interesting and enjoyable story.
Honor and Jared were a fascinating couple. He's hard-core new Country. She sings like an angel. Opposites in every way but wonderful together. Jared can't help but fall in love with the voice that he hears and will stop at nothing to get her on his tour. No is her answer. There is no way she is putting herself out there again. Not after the humiliation. And, who would want to look at her again? Jared will not take no for an answer and sets out to prove to her that there's nothing to be afraid of and that she's beautiful in every way.
A back-stabbing ex, a manager that was always there but is now looking out for himself, had Honor determined to try again. Jared shows up looking for the songbird that he heard and now she has a bigger reason to make a comeback. But, strange things have been happening and her fears are starting to make her doubt her decision. Unconditional love, understanding and the support of a man she's falling in love with and her best friend, show Honor that she can do it and that it's something she really does want.
Will her past keep Honor from going forward? Will Jared's past keep him from the honors he deserves? Will Honor forgive him for not telling her the truth? Will the love they have for each other be enough to get them through the long road ahead?
I love how this story flowed, how Jared didn't give up on Honor. It was hard watching Honor just throw in the towel and give up on everyone but then the smile came to my face when Jared broke through and she became determined to make things work despite the odds against her. Yes, this was a love story with a beautiful HEA but it was also a story about overcoming your fears and moving forward with your life.
So, will I read Mandy Baggot again? Most definitely. She wrote an interesting story that thoroughly held my attention, showcased the music world, and gave us a beautiful love story. BTW, Jared totally reminded me of an Eric Church or a Brantly Gilbert. If you're a country music fan like I am, you'll know who I am talking about.

A really fun read.
I love books by mandy baggot but this is a little different as it's not in Greece.
The main character is ajed and he is in turmoil with himself. I really liked this character so much I couldn't put the book down.
Towards the end the ending quarter was a little too much for me and over the top with things with personalities etc but it didnt make me want to close it. It just took me a little longer to get through it, it flowed so easily. Really good.

I absolutely loved it!
Country music isn't my style, but I knew it was would be just as addictive as all of Mandy’s books. As usual, a leading man to drool over. Mandy writes a leading man who I fall for every time.
Honor Blackwood used to be a country singer until something terrible happened on stage. This changed her path completely and now she works in a music store in Nashville owned by her best friend Mia, at least she still gets to play her guitar.
Jed Marshall is looking for a support act for his upcoming tour. He just happens to visit the music store as Honor is singing to herself. His mission is to get her to agree to join his tour, but when he realises who she is and what she’s been through he knows it will be tough to convince her.
I warmed to musician Jed from the start. I loved the sparks between him and Honor.
The chapters are told by Honor and Jed so you get a good feel for their backgrounds and why they are the way they are today.
The cover design is gorgeous.
Definitely some sizzling scenes between the main characters.
I thoroughly recommend all of Mandy Baggot’s books, I’m a huge fan.
Thanks to Mandy Baggot, Aria, Head of Zeus and NetGalley for the review copy in which I give my honest opinion.

Description
Welcome to Nashville, where the music is everything...

Honor Blackwood was once the crowning glory of Nashville. Tipped as the next big thing, her future was paved in gold. Until a terrible accident changed everything and now all she has are the platinum discs and the memories.

Jared Marshall is the new guy hitting all the right notes in the country music charts. Everyone wants a piece of him; he's sexy, he's wild, and he looks like trouble. But there's one girl who might just be able to tame him, if she'll open her heart.

As a new opportunity arises, Honor has a serious decision to make; does she try for a second chance at her old life? Or will the scars of her past continue to haunt her? There are secrets aplenty in Nashville, and they may well cause havoc on the heart.

Not into country music and definitely did not watch the show Nashville - even though I don't live far from Nashville - I just couldn't get into it. I read it with an open mind. It was fine until the last 20%. If I had been reading with a physical book, I'd have thrown it against the wall!

Mandy Baggott never fails in my opinion. Always giving readers something juicy, characters that will evoke emotion and storylines that will have you hooked.
I can’t believe I hadn’t read this sooner. I’m so glad I have now though, what a fab read.
I love Country and this ticked all the boxes to make it a hot, fun, country filled sizzler that had a lot of heart and soul. Great characters and fab settings yet again, a typical Mandy Baggott book.
Honor and Jed are at different points in their careers but are drawn together instantly, the chemistry between them in clear. Both have traumatic pasts that have made both build barriers to getting hurt again; romantically or professionally.
Is there connection strong enough to endure every test thrown at them? When skeletons in the closet become public knowledge will this hot country couple survive or face heartbreak once more.
For me this was sensory overload – I could hear the guitars music, the crowded venues, I could taste the delectable sounding foods and I was mesmerised throughout the book. I couldn’t put it down; I could see this playing out in front of me as if I was there in the crowd singing along.
A wonderful story that was really well written.

Buzz told Jaredhe employed him for two things,To advise him what's right stop him from making a first-class butt of himself. Honor had a z shaped scar that ran from the corner of her right eye to half way down her cheek. Ten years ago and twice as many operations , it was no longer red, bumpy and angry, but it was there to make her feel ugly every minute of every day. Larry was trying to get her to do something she didn’t want to do. Larry had come to put a job proposition to her but she always mumbled no. She’d heard it all before about her fans, not letting the man and what he did to her ruin her life> She told larry she was never getting up on stage ever again. Her life in country music had been two short years and her record label wanted to release a greatest hits album. It was official she was done. Honor said she had nothing to offer them. But she did have new songs and there were scores of them . She wrote alone, sang to the walls, and locked the paper up in a drawer. Country music had been her life. At one time it had been the only thing she had, But because of one brutal night her life course had been altered entirely. There was no going back and no going forward. Mia had been a good friend to Honor the last five years. She listened. She understood. Everything a true friend would do. Jed Marshall {Jared} heard her voice over the speakers in a bar. His friend Byran who was a guitar player told him about Honor and what had happened to her and that she didn’t perform anymore. Jed went to the music store Honor worked at. He stood outside and listened to her sing. He went in and gave her a bridge for the song she was writing and it was great. He told Honor he wanted her to go on tour with him as a backup performer. But honor said no. Then she realized who he was. He gave her his number and told her he didn’t give up easily. She went to a bar with mia and her ex that had dumped her a one week after the assault came up to her Honor shuddered when he touched her. Jared jumped in and beat her ex up for her honor. She asked him for a ride home and she invited him in for coffee.
Excellent read. I loved it. I loved the man Jed was and how he had protected his family. I loved Jed and Honor together and how they interacted. I read this in one setting I didn’t want to put this down so I read until I as at the end. This book grabbed my attention right at the beginning and kept until the end. I felt bad how Honor didn’t know her family and came up through the system. I loved the pace and plot. I loved how close Mia and honor are. I loved the characters and the ins and out of this story and I highly recommend it.

Fun Hallmark book that will make a wonderful movie. There's a bad boy hero and a damaged but beautiful heroine that can sing. It's a good story with music issues and personal issues. An interesting quick read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark for allowing me to read and review.

100% classic Mandy Baggot and by that I mean a fabulous read you will not want to put down, is fun, emotional, romantic and will leave you wanting more. I loved the feel of Nashville from the author’s descriptions, I adored Honor and all the characters, it’s an enthralling and captivating read that brings joy into your life during the pages of the book.

Since the TV show ‘Nashville’, aired its final episode, I have missed my Country music fix. Having read Mandy’s books before, I kind of knew what to expect but, in my opinion, this is her best yet!
I love the way that Mandy told the stories of Honor and Jared’s past. They had both dealt with terrible ordeals but, each reacted to different extremes. Honor became almost reclusive and very guarded whilst Jared developed a wild persona with a string of one-night stands and broken hearts.
The only thing that Honor and Jared had in common was their music and, when they worked together, amazing things happened which could be the medicine to cure their sadness.
Nothing runs smoothly, as you may guess and, as a result, it looks as though there will be no sweet music in their future.
Mandy managed to create two compelling characters as the leads but, she also fully included a supporting cast which boasted best friends and bandmates.
I read this book in two sittings, it would have been one but, the sun was coming up and I needed sleep!

First I want to say this book wasn't horrible but it wasn't fantastic either. Usually in a book I have at least one character that I love but I didn't love any of them. I felt that they were all one dimensional and needed to be fleshed out more. Honor was only about her past, Jed/Jared was only about his temper etc etc. None of the story lines felt like they had been hurried and not well thought out. And don't get me started on Corbin. Honor just running off with him and trusting him after his revelation when she thought she had a stalker was just too unbelievable and out of character for her.
The part that I couldn't get past though was that very quickly it was evident that this book was written by someone from the UK. There are phrases and words that people in North America don't use. I don't mind that when a character is from the UK or a books setting is there, but this story takes place in Nashville with characters from Alabama, Michigan and Tennessee where people don t speak like that. It was so prevalent that I found it distracting and I ended up skimming the last 50 pages or so.
This book was provided to me by the publisher on NetGalley for my honest opinion.

I totally loved this book!!!! I was emersed in the life of Honor, songwriter and musician in Nashville USA, once a star, until a traumatic experience stopped her dead. This is the story of second chances, has she the courage to get back on stage?
Mandy Baggot at her best, the characters are very real, as are the families and friends.
If you loved A Star is Born you will love this book.
Totally gripped from beginning to end, made me smile, laugh, swallow down a tear and want to read through my hands!!
Truly wonderful read, I so enjoyed this book!

It's an interesting plot ___a good love story, music as a background; a talented singer, unable to forget a horrible incident that made her stop singing. Another talented young angry {but compassionate} singer who cannot believe he's in love with the girl.

I liked their sizzling yet soothing, mushy at times, chemistry

'She smelt like summer air after a fresh rainfall, tasted like the purest water with a dash of a sweet something he couldn’t even begin to describe.'

Or ‘She was like a whisper in the wind. A breeze that came into the room and affected everybody. Like a sweet change to the temperature…'

I like this kind of writing.

The author builds suspense in the second half, even unreliable narrative for some time, which keeps you curious. But the thing is, the story meanders at times and your thrill wavers.

The story has been told from both male and female protagonists, which is good but the point of view shifts too quickly. It doesn't give you time to settle on any pov.

Overall an interesting and engaging read. But I feel it could have been better and crisper, as the plot had potential.

Great fast paced romance with more than the usual slow burn. Twists and turns and a whole lotta Nashville drama.

Honor has been continually kicked down, after a knife attack left her giving up her future as a musician. Honor has no family and a few friends but has a hard time letting anyone in. When Jared 'Jed' Marshall hears an old track with an angels voice, he is determined to hunt down Honor and get her back in the spotlight. The couple navigates the life of mixing business an pleasure in Nashville.

I really enjoyed this one! I did want more of a slow burn with the romance but the twists and turns and past horrors kept me fully engaged until the end. But as a girl who doesn't trust anyone, sure fell hard and fast for a rockin country bad boy.

DNF at about 20%. The story is fine, but I think it needed some heavy editing for US publication. The mix of written "southern twang" and British spellings was distracting.

I enjoyed this book, initially I thought this was going to be a guaranteed five star read. However, for me the last part of the book was a little OTT so this is one I would give four stars to.
Lovely storyline and likeable characters.

This was a great book. I loved it. I’m a big country music fan and have visited Nashville so I loved the setting

I found myself second guessing all the people that came into contact with Honor - especially Mia! But I loved the initial love and attraction between Honor and Jed and that he was straight talking and stood up for what was right.

I loved the twists in the book and couldn’t stop reading.

I like Ms Baggot's books and this one was no exceptions.
It's an engrossing and entertaining story with an unusual setting which is vividly described. I once visited Nashville and was happy to the back there via this story.
The characters are well thought and the plot flows.
Recommended.
Many thanks to Aria and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
