Life after divorce and feeling a little overwhelmed she wants to do everything on her own. When she decides to accept help. Great continuation of the series.
Thank you Leslie North for giving us another great book!! Storytelling at its best!! I could not stop reading!!
What would happen if you were the new person in a small town and because of your past stayed more around your home. Then if you moved from the big city to a rundown farm in the wilds of Montana without knowing much about farming. This is the situation that Heather found herself in
I will admit that I struggled with Heather in the beginning, mostly because she kept herself so shut off and resistant of any help that she became predictable, however as the story progressed and I understood more about her motives I started to like her better
Randy on the other hand I loved from the beginning, he was kind, generous and had a caring side that Heather really brought out in him
I enjoyed the story even if at times it annoyed me and I would recommend this book to those who enjoy stories where the main characters have a strong sense of family and what is important
I voluntarily read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine
This is book 2 of the series - I have been lucky enough to read the whole series and would recommend both the books and the author. I just love Leslie North's books.
Loved the story and the characters are very likeable.
Book two of the McCall brothers. This story is of Veterinarian Randy And Heather and her 3 year old twins.. A good story overall, and is a fun and quick read. Sometimes a little too fast, as more details would help. Minor though, and would highly recommend this book, series and author.

These McCall’s
In the second book in The McCall Ranch saga we get a look into Randy and what makes him tick. He’s an animal lover with a heart of gold. When single mom call him for help his instinct is she needs more than just help with a lame horse.
The writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shocking moments. I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
Authors Blurb: Single mom Heather Browning will do anything to get away from her controlling ex-husband including buying a rundown strawberry farm in Montana. Maybe the locals are right, maybe she is crazy. Still, she’ll do anything to keep her twin son and daughter safe and happy and keep her ex out of the picture. When her only horse comes up lame, she calls local veterinarian Randy McCall. The sexy cowboy takes one look at her farm and dilapidated house and offers his help, but Heather is quick to say no. She doesn’t need anyone’s help no matter how gorgeous and tempting Randy is. But after hurting her ankle and discovering her roof is riddled with leaks, she reluctantly agrees to temporarily move herself and the twins to the McCall Ranch. If Heather wanted a charming, sexy, man which she does not Randy would be perfect. Good thing she only wants to be friends…
For as long as he can remember, Randy has liked saving things. So when he’s hit with the impossible to ignore need to help Heather, he chalks it up to his nature. Thanks to matchmaking townsfolk, Randy is “given” to Heather for twenty-four hours of free labor, and he’s happy to oblige. It’s certainly not because he’s crazy attracted to her. Definitely not because the twins are making him think silly thoughts about being a dad. And no way is it because that one soft kiss made his heart feel like it was struck by lightning. Even as Randy tells himself over and over that he’s not a relationship kind of guy, his stubborn heart doesn’t believe it. Knowing Heather has already been hurt by a man, he decides to stop things before they get out of hand. But can he stop himself from falling in love?
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕
The second in the McCall brothers series. A person invests all her money in a strawberry farm, sight unseen, which of course, was in total disrepair. There is angst, drama, fun, romance, steam and of course an HEA. Easy, quick read. Enjoy.
This is a sweet, short read. I like Randy the best of the brothers. I wasn't a fan of Heather though. The romance is a bit fast. There isn't a lot of relationship building. The drama surrounding Heather and her ex is full of tension and almost more interest than the romance between her and Randy.
THE COWBOY'S RESCUE had a good premise that I found sweet and promising. A woman with kids, starting over in a new town, making her own way and the Veterinarian that helps her out. Sadly, this book is extremely choppy and not at all satisfying.
The love story comes out of nowhere, skipping from acquaintance to being "in love" with zero lead up and no explanation. There is no chemistry between the lead characters. After very childish conflict, which these two never discuss, the book ends abruptly and then we get a very forced and rushed epilogue.
There is no fleshing out of the story. No conflict resolution. Large chunks of the story go unresolved.
This was an unfortunate execution of a promising story idea.
Cute little book. Very easy read. I think it was easy to fall in love with Randy’s character... a caring, sensitive, and patient man. We should all be so lucky to be like Heather and find a dream guy like him.
Heather Browning has divorced her controlling husband and moved to a strawberry farm in Montana. Along with her three-year old twins, Andy and Amelia she hopes to make a success of the farm. Randy McCall, town veterinarian arrives at the farm to tend to her horse and slowly begins to have feelings for Heather and the twins. Heather refuses additional help from Randy and insists on taking care of the farm, until a heavy rain storm reveals more problems with the farm. While her home is repaired, can moving to Randy’s family ranch show Heather that Randy is not a controlling man like her ex? A pleasant small-town western story. The second book in the McCall Ranch Brothers, The Cowboy’s Rescue tells of Randy and Heather’s journey and undeniable attraction. An engaging read with believable characters and a wonderful storyline. I look forward reading the next book
I really enjoyed this story about Heather and Randy. Randy was all in from the beginning, apparently being part of his make-up that he help. Heather was stand-off-ish, but understandable considering what happened with her ex. The kids were adorbs!
The McCall brothers sure are a handy group of men. Heather is so determined to do everything by herself that she almost looses everything. Heather should have noticed that her girls took to Randy instantly. That would have told her that she could possibly trust him.
Single mom Heather Browning will do whatever it takes to keep her twins safe and happy and to get away from her controlling ex-husband. So she buys a rundown strawberry farm in Montana. So when her only horse comes up lame, she calls local veterinarian Randy McCall. Randy takes one look at her farm and dilapidated house and offers his help, but Heather is quick to say no. But after an injury and a leaky roof she reluctantly accepts Randy's offer and temporarily moves herself and the twins to the McCall Ranch.
Randy has always been one of those who cannot resist helping when he sees the need. The townsfolk decide to "give" Randy to Heather for 24-hours of free labor. That free labor will lead to more for both of them.
This was a sweet and enjoyable romance. Even the town rooted for the couple. Now, convincing the couple took a while longer. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Single mother Heather has bought a strawberry farm sight unseen. She is starting over after a divorce from her abusive ex. Heather doesn’t want to accept help, she wants to stand on her own two feet. Enter vet and rancher Randy who offers to help.
This book is a fast read romance. Heather and Randy will need to overcome their past issues in order to find happiness. This is the 2nd book in a series but can be read as a stand alone.
