Lyleia "Leia" Naiad is a former nymph, having lost her spring after a vindictive werewolf had hers destroyed. After her banishment, Leia became an Executive Assistant to Castor Dioskouri, who is also a demigod and the son of Zeus. Nymphs, whether active or banished, have a magical interference, allowing them to resist the charming behavior of gods and demigods. Leia should be more than safe from Castor.....but her heart might not be safe.

Castor Dioskouri asked for one think from Brimstone Inc. when he requested a new assistance. He did not want anyone who would be attracted to him, require love and affection, or fall into lust with him. The company chose the perfect employee, a water nymph. Blessed with a gift allowing nymphs to resist sexual temptations, he thought he'd be safe from Lyleia Naiad. Except he wasn't really.

When Castor discovers Lyleia is going to resign, he does everything in his power to prevent that from happening. During her latest attempt, Castor requests her attendance at a mating ceremony between to shifter packs. Determined not to go, Leia tries to remove herself from the situation but Castor wins, like always. Leia soon finds herself making travel arrangements to Rocky Mountain National Park where they will be staying with the pack members in the Stanley Hotel.

The Demigod Complex is a quick read, blending paranormal romance and mythology in a novella that packs a punch. Both Leia and Castor are terrific characters and I really enjoyed the chemistry the author created between them. The world building was done well and I was able to visualize the story as I read along. I can't wait to begin the second book in the series.

I was provided a copy of this book to read.

This was a quirky change to Greek mythology characters that I really enjoyed. I really liked both Lyleia and Castor. I loved their back and forth repartee as well as their work together to take on an enemy. I can’t wait to read more from this series.

Wow this book was just so good and so easy to get lost in. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I just didn't want it to end. I just couldn't get enough of these wonderful characters and I just loved getting to see their journey. I will most definitely be reading more stories from this wonderful author.

What happens when a water nymph and a demigod get together? A lot of splashing mixed with some electrifying kissing. Leia is a water nymph that has lost her pond after an altercation with a werewolf! Castor is her boss and also the son of Zeus! When the attend a wedding more then the bouquet is thrown!

I really wanted to like this book. In fact, I loved Abigail Owen's other series, but the writing for this book really felt too stilted and did not sound like her writing at all.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend to everyone.

This is a quick light read, and for a novella, it does not feel rushed. There is a good balance between romance and drama with an interesting plot. I liked the book but don't think I would go out of my way to follow the series. There wasn't that special something that sets it apart from all the other paranormal romances out there.

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this first story in the Brimstone Inc PNR series! A water nymph Lyleia banished from her home finds a place as assistant to sexy CEO, and demigod (son of Zeus) Castor. They've maintained a professional distance despite a mutual (but unacknowledged) attraction, but when Lyleia accompanies Castor to a wolf shifter mating, their chemistry turns into a heated affair. There's drama, there's passion, there's revenge from the werewolf responsible for Lyleia's predicament who has tracked her down at the mating, and there's some innovative characters and worldbuilding along with some sexy scenes to make for a great escape read. Definitely recommended if you're looking for some something new in the paranormal romance genre!

Cute story. I would have liked more information about why Leia lost her spring earlier, but it was a good story.

Imagine a world where demigods, nymphs, and shifters are real, and they do ordinary things as humans. Imagine an office romance between a nymph on the run plus a demigod who doesn’t want to fall in love. If you can imagine such a thing, then meet Leia and Castor. Leia is a nymph who lost her spring and her family because a wolf didn’t know how to handle rejection. Castor is the son of Zeus, who lost his wife. Leia is Castor’s executive assistant who is trying to resign but just can’t bring herself to do so. Unbeknownst to Leia, Castor is aware and is doing everything in his power to prevent her resignation. As a result, she accompanies Castor to a mating ceremony where both of their lives change.

The chemistry between Leia and Castor can have you seeing stars. Getting their backstories while showing how they become the characters you know and fall for is fascinating. Greek mythology is seamlessly weaved into modern-day, and Abigail Owen’s execution of this, for me, was flawless. I have not read a story based on Castor, although I am aware of his story. I am interested to see where this series goes, and I’m so fascinated to see if one specific character gets a story. If so, I hope Leia and Castor are there!

I love this author's dragon shifter series so I was eager to read more from her. This is a reprint of a previously published novella. There has been some re-editing to it and flushing out of the story. The author has dropped it into the dragon shifter universe so there were some familiar conversations about the dragons in the US.

As this is a novella, I am going to give some credit for the writing. It was a rushed story. Based on my reads of the other series done by this author, I don't think this one compares. Intriguing premise. I liked all the supernaturals that were introduced. There was chemistry between Castor and Lyleia, but we never get to really see the build up to the relationship. Everything has already happened by the time they are making a move toward something more.

Not a bad read. Just not at the level I have come to expect from this author. I would be interested in a novel length read in this universe.

The Demigod Complex Abigail Owens

Ohhh how I loved thee let me count the ways......

This was my first ever book by Abigail Owens and immediately after finishing i added the entire series to my TBR it was so good. The plot was perfect the blending of Paranormal characters with a modern environment had me hooked and wanting more. This book had it all a star crossed lovers element as our heroine was ‘done wrong’ by the family of our hero. An evil mastermind lurks in the shadows. Ohhh Squee this book gave me everything!

So lets start with our leading lady the ex water nymph Lyleia (leia), having lost her spring Leia should never have survived, but survive and thrive is all she can do determined not to let her past win. She’s hidden herself away and until taking a post as a PA to Castor with Brimstone inc she has been successful in keeping her past just that past that is until a wolf wedding puts her on a collision course with things she would rather avoid. Moving on we have our leading man the sexy demigod Castor grieving his wife he never expected to fall for his PA but he knows he must keep his attraction to himself he knows his family has hurt her he just doesn’t quite know how. The perfect opportunity is when Leia’s past catches up to her and puts her at risk.

This was a short, sweet, smutty good read where gods are real and the bad guys get what they deserve.

Lyleia and Castor are employee and employer. Castor is a demi-god, so he has somewhat of an issue with his personal assistants falling in love with him (it's a demi-god thing). Lyleia, being a nymph (who lost her spring), is immune to him, but is somehow still drawn to him. After both of them ignoring their feelings, the issue is finally forced when he discovers her letter of resignation. Castor strong arms her into coming as his non-date to a wolf shifter wedding, guaranteed to either force them to admit their feelings or move on.

Lyleia lost her spring in a dramatic display by the gods and one particular werewolf. This had, obviously, led to her avoiding most wolf-related events. She makes an exception, however, and all good things come from it. She gets some true closure in a pretty gruesome awesome way, with the help of her new friends and her superhero boss. These two were great and I look forward to more quick books in this series!

This is book 1 in Brimstone Inc and I would keep in mind that this is definitely a PNR! So if you don't like them, you won't like this book. Lyleia (Leia) Naiad works for Brimstone Inc as an executive assistant to one of the owners, Castor Dioskouri. Upon her accepting the position she only had one absolute directive-do not fall in love with her boss! It's doesn't matter that he is the son of Zeus and a demigod, or that he has a charm that most cannot resist. As an ex-nymph she possesses the ability to resist him and all gods and demigods. Castor knows he asked for his next assistant to be able to resist him, but he never planned on having feelings for that person as well. And when the opportunity arises for him to show her what they could have, he will take it. But he doesn't plan on having to not only show her what they could have but to have to try to protect her from someone from her past at the same time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one! PNR is my top favorite genre and this book in no way disappointed in that aspect! Leia went through something that for her was extremely traumatic. And it also changed the way her life went in ways that she never imagined. But she is a strong woman who still manages to be sweet and loving. Castor also went through something that absolutely no one should have to. All due to something (in my opinion) is just stupid! And while he was strong enough to survive it, it also made him close himself off and hardened his heart. Until someone helped him open back up again. These two together have this chemistry that you love along with a friendship that you didn't expect. My only drawback-I felt it was too short. Some parts were a little rushed and I just wanted a more in depth story for their backstories. But on a whole, I definitely loved everything else! And now I need a story for his brother, because although we didn't meet him in this-he was mentioned!

Lyleia is Castor's executive assistant and she's also a nymph but she lost her spring (powers) because she was betrayed. She still has the power to resist the pull of any supernaturals but she still feels attracted to Castor who is a demigod.

Castor needs Lyleia to accompany him to a mating ceremony and be a buffer for him since these things end up making all involved, even the guests feel very much like having sex and he's hoping that having her there with him will keep the females away.

Castor is a demigod, son of Zeus. He's been sorta lusting after Leia which is weird since he hasn't felt much in the love department in a while, but his heart is telling him that there's something real between them, he just has to make her believe it too.

Going to the mating ceremony proved to be a bad decision as someone from her past was there and he wanted her dead. She thought she had a stalker, someone who had been breaking into her apartment and now she knew for sure who it was. When Castor finds out who is after her and why, his protective instincts take over and he helps her. He's a demigod so he pretty powerful and if she's to fight this person and win, she'll need his help in the end.

Because of the danger, the pheromones at the mating ceremony and the lust they already felt for each other that they've held back for so long, when they finally give into what they feel it was quite powerful. Their romance is sweet and hot. I laughed so many times during this book because of something that one of them would say and I love when a book can make me laugh. This was a fun book to read and a great way to start off a new series. I look forward to reading more now.

Disclosure: I was given an ARC of this book for free in exchange for a review via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a fun novella, which had me wishing for more. Novellas are always tough to read especially when you have a lot of ground to cover. I think Abigail did a great job with the limited amount of words that she had. Greek mythology is a huge fave and any sort of retelling or just a story in that world in general, I’m here for all of it.

With the simmering attraction that has been brewing underneath between Castor and Lyleila, I just couldn’t wait for everything to unfold. From the office to sharing a room at a wolf shifter mating ceremony, something is bound to happen.

I enjoyed this novella immensely, we had some laughs, some fanning because these two are hot together (hello, nymph!) and a deeper story of Leila’s past. I felt the connection all around with these two and I’m hoping we get to see them again in this series.

Loved this read and can’t wait to read more! The Demigod Complex is a great start to this series, I just know we’ll be in for a fun ride.
