For me, this book was a thought-provoking suspense thriller. The theme seemed to be that lies will catch up to you eventually. Laura was on maternity leave and just returns to work at the ad agency, only to find that her temporary replacement has usurped her job. Laura was the character with whom I sympathized the most because of her struggle to balance her career and motherhood and her fury at Mia for taking her job. If the whole story had been about Laura, I would have been fine with that. However, there are three liars. The second is Mia, the engaging and charismatic young woman who has stolen Laura’s position in the agency. Although Mia has home responsibilities, too, since she is the caregiver for her mom and her sister, she was not a very lovable character to me. She was just too much...too friendly to all of the other employees, too satisfied with herself for taking Laura’s job, and just too much of everything for me to like her. Finally, there was Janie, the boss’s wife who used to be a defense lawyer and has given up her job to get away from something that happened in court. Janie was okay as a character for me, but not particularly deep enough. I didn’t feel that I really got to know her. So, three women, a fire that burns down the company, someone dead in the fire and the police are called in. I really enjoyed the way the POV switched from woman to woman, but my favorite was at the end of each chapter with one of the women, there was a police interview. The revelations were mostly given in the police interviews, or at least that was my thought as I read. Actually, the revelations were being made slowly all along, with some strange twists and a surprise ending. I really did enjoy how the book was written, but I did think that the reveal was too slow and the story could have wrapped up earlier without a lot of the extra details. Fans of suspense thrillers will really enjoy this book, but be prepared to be shocked at the end!

Three liars! Who is telling the truth? This story will keep you guessing. I loved how this story had me trying to figure out how the women were connected and what the motives were behind the mystery. I think the reveal was done very smoothly. This book had the few elements that I love- flashbacks, different narrators, short chapters, and dialogue from police news reports. I would suggest this book if you are looking for a light, quick mystery/suspense.

A pretty entertaining domestic thriller, but it was a bit generic and predictable for my taste. This would be good for someone new to the genre.
Three Perfect Liars by Heidi Perks
Laura goes on maternity break and thinks she'll be able to walk right back in to the job she had at the advertising agency before she left but Mia has a different idea. Janie is married to the owner of this agency and thinks Laura is having an affair with her husband. All three women are perfect liars and their stories are all entwined in ways that noone knows....good story and premise, little slow at times but overall an enjoyable read. Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this book and letting me leave my opinion.
Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I was really caught up in this book - it just pulled me along, waiting to find out what was really going on here and how things would turn out.
I think one thing that made the book so appealing was that none of the three main characters was an awful person. They had each acted in a way that was questionable, at one point or another, but none of them were evil - they were human beings, with flaws like everyone else, but I could sympathize with each of them. That, to me, makes a book far more enjoyable than one in which every main character is awful!
I do get a bit annoyed with books that continually hint about some dreadful secret in the characters' pasts, but I can get past that. I know what the author is doing - it just is a technique that annoys me. Come on, spit it out!
Beyond that, tho, the book was engrossing and entertaining. It reminded me a bit of Liane Moriarty's books, which I also enjoy.
Definitely worth reading - I'm going to have to look for more from Ms. Perks!
This one is tricky for me. It deals with such important topics for women that I really want to be able to give it a great review. It’s got fairly diverse, dynamic characters and an interesting overarching storyline that ties them all together in a way you won’t expect, but I just had a hard time really getting into it. It was a chore to pick up, so I can’t give it the glowing recommendation that I would like.
Between the title and the story which opens with a big fire at an office building in Lymington outside London, and then back tracks to the story of three interconnected 30-40 something working women, it seemed like a start to page-turning whodunnit hybrid of Big Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere. For me, the stories of Mia, Laura, and Janie just weren't that compelling. The novel touches on several key current women hot topics and we really do feel Laura's struggles trying to balance a new baby and her high powered career at Morris & Wood, a top advertising agency. The other issues of workplace harassment and sexual assault were needed story elements to push the plot forward but to me they were kind of superficial narratives which didn't evoke the empathy from the reader or were as powerful as they could have been. For the most part, this was a fast read, but the build up and culmination of the whodunnit at the office party fell flat - as did the ending that follows. For me, an okay read. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of Three Perfect Liars. Did I love it? No. But it was entertaining. Out of the three main women (Laura, Janie, and Mia) I really only cared about Mia’s story and conclusion. Harry was the worst boss ever and I don’t know how he didn’t have hundreds of formal complaints from his employees. I felt going back and for from before the fire to after the fire really made the plot drag. It took 80-85% of the story to finally get to the aha moment over who started the fire. It’s an easy read, but not my favorite.
Interesting story, kept me wanting to read. I read so many books that sometimes they blend together. This one still stands out after months of reading others. Not fast paced, not horribly suspenseful but a nice weaving of a few storylines for a cohesive outcome. I wouldn't necessary recommend picking it up but if you get a copy for free, it's worth reading.
Laura, Mia, and Janie are all connected by an advertising agency, Morris & Wood. Laura has just returned after 6 months maternity leave. Mia, the temp who covered for her, is now working there full-time and seems after Laura’s job. Janie’s husband, Harry, owns the company. When a fire that is considered arson burns the ad agency to the ground, secrets that all three ladies have been hiding will eventually come out.
This book had such a great premise that I was really excited to read it. I struggled getting into it though. The book alternates through the three ladies perspectives as well as police interviews after the fire. I did like the alternating points of view because you got to see how the three ladies perceived each other. All three ladies are unreliable narrators which makes sense with the title.
I started this book in August and then put it on hold for a bit because I just couldn’t get into it. I wanted to love it, but it just moved so slowly. Once I picked it back up determined to finish it, I still felt the pace was so slow. I kept wondering if it would ever end. With that said, I was still intrigued to see how it would all play out.
Mia was my favorite of the three liars. I found her story the most interesting and kept reading to see what really brought her to Morris & Wood. Laura got on my nerves a lot. Too much of the book focused on her jealousy and obsession with Mia. Janie was just kind of there until the party scene where we start to get a better understanding of her. All three of these ladies had a reason to start the fire so the author did a good job of keeping her readers guessing.
There is a bit of a twist at the end which I didn’t see coming. The problem is that it didn’t really wow me. I like my jaw to drop at a surprise ending, but I was just like “oh, ok”.
Although this book wasn’t really for me, I have read other reviews of people who loved it so please take that to heart when deciding to read this.

If you are looking for a book that you will not be able to put down pick up Three Perfect Liars. A true page-turner I was hooked from the first words to the last. Excellent characters, ton of suspense, and plenty of twists and turns along the way!
This was a great read; a dramatic mystery with a bit of a creepy factor. I read it over three very busy days, which means I was reading every chance I had. Beautifully constructed with well-developed characters, whose secrets are slowly revealed. This author is new to me and I’m looking forward to reading more of her work. I received this book free and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.
Three women, with 3 different reasons to burn down a building, but who did it? This book is an engaging and entertaining read with relatable characters. One of the characters by the name of Laura is returning to work at an ad agency (located in the building that burnt down) after having her first child. This book touches on the demands placed on women juggling work, life and family expectations as well as sexual discrimination and inequity in the workplace and society. I truly enjoyed this book and was kept guessing as to who started the fire until the very end of the book.
3 women, each connected by an advertising firm, are stuck in a battle. Each tells their story through a different point of view. At the beginning, one is looking on to a fire of a building which housed the advertising firm. How did it start? And who is dead?
While this book intrigued me at the beginning, sometimes it was hard to keep reading, as the flow started to be a little confusing. However the themes in this book were very important and the conclusion was very fitting. However, the ending was nothing very earth shattering so it kinda kept it from getting a better score for me.
I liked the multiple POV and how the police interviews helped break up the writing.
This book reminds me of Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng but set in an office. The author starts with the fire and then works backwards with everything that happened leading up to the fire.
I liked that there were chapters with the police agent interviewing various people about what happened. So you get bits and pieces of the story from each chapter.
The ending wasn't exactly what I was expecting! The author does a good job of wrapping up all the story lines and answering all the questions the book presents.
An intriguing, keep you guessing kind of book centered around women and their secrets? Sing me up!
This book was so interesting to read, it was hard to put down! I loved getting to jump back and forth between the different women's lives and see into the lies and secrets that were so tangled together. That alongside the burning theme going on gave the impression of "Little Fires Everywhere", especially given the suburban setting.
I would've personally liked it to be a quicker pace, but a slow build to a reveal is also very satisfying, so its up to you whether or not you feel like the book is well paced.
All in all a very satisfying read!
Great read! It drew me in quickly and I found myself grabbing the book when I really had other obligations. It took awhile to find allegiance with any of the characters . I could not predict where the story was going . I was Lea I g in one direction and then a real jolt would take place and I found myself rethinking everything I thought I knew. Very enjoyable and entertaining .

I love thrillers that center around a plethora of secrets. This one kept me guessing. I was about 80% of the way through before I started to really figure it out, and even then I got some details wrong. The characters had a decent amount of depth, Laura more than anyone. The premise was good. My only problem was that it was slow. The pacing did not feel fast enough for the type of story it was. I enjoyed it but even though I didn’t know what would happen next, I also wasn’t on the edge of my seat to find. Because of the pacing, this was 3.5 stars for me.

An advertising office goes up in flames and three very different women all have a motive to light the match. When Lauren returns to work after a six month maternity leave, she’s shocked to learn that her temp replacement not only has been hired permanently, but has also been given her biggest account. There’s something not quite right about Mia and Lauren is determined to find out what. Lauren tries to balance work and being a new mom, but it’s a difficult task when she’s trying to prove herself to her boss. Mia has befriended everyone in the office, but something is amiss. Janie, the owners wife has secrets of her own and when all three were sighted at the quay the night of the fire, questions abound. Who set the fire and when questioned why are they all being so elusive? Interspersed with the police interrogations, this book was a fast, fun read.
Interesting book - probably closer to 3.5 stars, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt because it kept me guessing throughout. I had a bit of a hard time relating to any of the characters or feeling much sympathy for them, although I warmed up to Laura after a while. I think the attraction of this book for me was the intrigue and mystery of it, versus any sort of character development or literary smash. But it definitely had a lot of twists and turns and times where you thought you knew the end, and then it twisted again. The format of the book worked - three different perspectives from three different women, with details filled in through police interviews. Overall, I would say slightly better than average; I appreciated the fact that I was never quite able to figure things out on my own, but I would have liked to have connected with the characters more.
