WOW! What a mess a fun night of 'shrooms and couple swapping can lead to. This is great read for anyone fantasizing about swapping partners for a night. I haven't read Robyn Harding before, but I'll be picking up her previous books for sure. I love the characters, the twisted story line, and most of the chapters end with a single sentence as cliff hanger.

Great book, will definitely be recommending it to my friends. Thanks NetGalley and Roby Harding for the advance copy.

This was the first book by Robyn Harding that I have read and I am hooked! Absolutely loved her writing style and found this to be a quick read with so many twists and turns. I thought the ending was great! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC. I cannot wait to recommend this book!

Wow... this was one twisted story and I loved it! I could hardly put it down. This is my second read from Robyn Harding and I seriously can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

THE SWAP was a very quirky book but with a gripping story. The characters' idiosyncrasies kept me turning the pages, and the story was always taking off in an unexpected direction.. Though the characters were anything but conventional, the author managed to make them sympathetic, if not likable. Reading this book was an enjoyable journey.

Now that I've come off the high of finishing this book, I'm taking it down to a 4 to 4.5 star rating. This book was one hell of a wild ride; I basically could not put it down. I didn't even mean to start it; I got an ARC and was just checking to make sure the formatting was decent, and I just got hooked from the first page.

Part of the reason for that is the character of Low Morrison, who is equal parts awful human being and terribly entertaining character. She's such a fucking edgelord. She's the epitome of "not like other girls" except she takes it to a whole new level because she thinks she's just better than every other human. She's like a combination of Kylo Ren and Joe from You. She's the goddamn worst. And yet somehow, she's still not as bad as Freya, the former Instagram influencer she's obsessed with, who may just be a goddamn sociopath. The two become "friends" of a sort, but then, enter Jamie - a relatively normal if sanctimonious human woman who desperately wants a baby. She and Freya also become friends, and Freya starts playing Low and Jamie off each other. Why? It's unclear, except for the fact that Freya is fucking awful.

Things come to a head after Jamie and Freya swap husbands, though the situation is in fact much more complicated than the summary would have you believe. The whole thing gets really, really messy between the two married couples, and Low is there to witness it all, and to try to turn the tide against Jamie, so she can have Freya all to herself again (which, WHY anyone would want anything to do with Freya is beyond me).

I'm not going to go too much into the summary because I think it's best that you go into this knowing as little as possible. The plot isn't necessarily super explosive either, and it's not like there's a ton of huge twists or anything like that, but the narration is so compelling, and Harding does a fantastic job differentiating the first-person POVs from one another (being in Low's head, for example, is a fucking trip). This whole thing was just such a disaster; it was like reading about some B-list celebrity's terrible exploits in the tabloids. It's far from high literature, but you just can't look away.

Wow! Robyn Harding delivers another great thriller! She hasn’t let me down yet. Lots of twists and flawed but super interesting characters. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for revieW.

Thank you Gallery Books and Netgalley for the review copy of The Swap.
I was absolutely into Robin Hardings last book. I was really excited to get this one.
This one was good. Not great. I was looking for that fast paced suspense/thriller of her last one, and this was not it.
The story was ok and it was a quick read. This was just not the edge of your seat suspense I have gotten accustomed to by Robin Harding.
I would still recommend this for a light quick read.

This was a very easy read about some very dysfunctional people engaging in some questionable behavior. That often makes for a great book, right? I really feel like the book, however, just scratched the surface of their stories. I would have liked for the characters to be a little more developed. Overall, this would make a great beach read.

Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy!

Another great read from author, Robyn Harding. Low, a young high schooler becomes friends with her new local pottery teacher. And by friends....she eventually becomes obsessed with Freya. Follow the interactions of Low, Freya, her best friend Jamie and their husbands. Low gets in too deep with each of the main ladies and uncovers some personal information that she tries to use in her favor to become closer to Freya.

Some spouse swapping, a dabble in drugs, lots of lies and one super hot, psycho femme fatale all wrapped up in the drama-filled thriller.....The Swap!

Robyn Harding caught my eye with The Arrangement, but this one is much juicer. So much is rolled into this little book, you won’t want to miss a word!

Freya is one of the most toxic and narcissistic characters I’ve ever read about. She is absolutely wretched and I was completely captivated! At the same time, she’s charismatic and magnetizing. People adore her. And those people pay a high price to be her friend!

Thank you to NetGalley, Gallery/Scout Press and Robyn Harding for this ARC, in exchange for my honest review!

Set on a small island in the Pacific Northwest, The Swap draws you into the lives of five rather dismal characters and, although for the most part they’re not really likable, you want to know how this is all going to work out. Told from multiple points of view, you are drawn into the story of Freya and the effect she has on the lives of the other four characters. It is no surprise that the effect is not good.

While I liked the idea behind the book, I wish some of the characters had been more thoroughly developed. I want to know more about Freya; what was she thinking? I also thought the two husbands were a little shallow, Max more than Brian. But, I did like how Low’s home life was described. Poor girl!

All in all, it was a decent read. It keeps your interest and has a satisfying ending with a nice little twist thrown in.

My copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. My thanks to the the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review it.

This book was impossible to put down! The Swap is a highly addictive original story with plot twists and characters you love to hate. I won't be forgetting this story any time soon. Robyn Harding can write and I look forward to reading more books from this author.

This was gripping, chaotic, dark, and unnerving. I have to say, Robyn Harding sure knows how to write characters. Whether you like them or not, they are fully-fledged individuals with complex motivations and feelings. There were parts that I thought I knew where the story was going and then things shifted and unexpected turns happened and I was reeling from them. I thought I could easily piece this one together, I was so wrong.

I loved the discussion on polyamory and sexuality. I especially enjoyed the fact that Low was never made to feel less than because she didn't really feel sexual impulses. Even in adult literature, it's important to have those discussions and conversations for the readers.

I'm glad that I got to enjoy another Robyn Harding book and I can't wait for her next one. Thank you so much to Gallery/Scout Press and NetGalley for giving me an advanced copy of this book for review.

“The whole mess seemed unfathomable. How had one night of fun and debauchery upended our lives?”

To put it lightly The Swap was stress inducing. I’m pretty sure I woke my husband up tapping my foot in bed while reading this book. Reading about Low, Freya, Max, Jamie, and Brian put me through the ringer. From the cover you think that this story is about a couple swap. From the blurb you assume it’s about a swap gone wrong and the imposing teenager who sees it all happen, but that’s simplifying this book to its very simplest form. The Swap explores how all of these people can move around and be affected by one person. How one person can puppet master an entire cast of characters without a single one of them being aware of what’s going down. It was intriguing and interesting seeing how it all plays out. Was I stressed out until the very last page? Yes. Were some things extremely obvious to the reader? Yes. BUT... it was still a ride seeing characters realize things over the course of the book.

Such a good thrilling read, and I definitely plan to check out more of this authors work.

My favorite work by Robyn Harding yet! I’m glad I chose to give her books one more shot. This was incredibly engaging, despite being full of detestable characters. The ending was completely satisfying!

Low is an awkward girl that is about to graduate from high school on a small island in the Pacific Northwest. She has a very open family and doesn't have any friends but she forms a friendship with a beautiful local potter and ex-instagram model, Freya. Freya is new to the island and forms a friendship with Jamie, a local store owner who is also new to the island. Low gets jealous and doesn't want to share Freya. She ends up spying on Freya's house when Freya and her husband Max have Jamie and her husband Brian over for a get together with shrooms. That night, they end up swapping partners and Low sees the whole thing, now giving her leverage in her relationships with Freya and Jamie.

I thought Freya was awful and it was pretty obvious early on, so I couldn't figure out why both of these women, as lonely as they were, wanted to be friends with her. Even though there were ramifications from The Swap, I thought this book really was more about the female relationships and the fact that they were idolizing Freya, even though she burned them repeatedly. This was a very quick read. It was fast paced enough that it held my attention and I finished it in a few hours. I think I liked The Arrangement better but this one wasn't bad either.

This terrific book pulls the reader in and doesn’t let go. The story centers around three women: Low, Freya, and Jamie, and how their lives intersect. This is not as much a thriller, as it is a very slow burn. Highly recommended!

"Psychedelic drugs on a Tuesday was only the beginning."
And so begins the story of Freya & Max and Jamie & Brian. Both couples don’t have children - one by choice and one by nature - so they decide to have the kind of fun parents can’t have. What's the worst that can happen when you take magic mushrooms on a Tuesday? Well, apparently, you swap partners. And that's not really so bad, right? Especially if you don't talk about it again... right? And it's not like anyone else knows about it... right??

This might be my favorite @r to date! I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love messed up books & this one is certainly messed up. I found myself physically shaking my head at the thoughts the characters had, at their actions. Each character had depth, and I was riveted by the storyline. I often dislike thrillers that take things too far where you need to suspend disbelief, but this story was just believable enough that I bought in from page one on. An engaging thriller that just boggles your mind.

Provacative edgy thriller...when you think you have it figure out, you don't...will keep you reading till the end.
