this was a really beautiful story, the writing was really well-written and the characters were great. I found the topic really interesting and enjoyed the ride.

The novel is an interesting piece of historical fiction, however, I did not find it overly engaging to read nor entertaining and the way in which the women were written made me super uncomfortable.

This book covers so much of Harold's life that it is hard to believe that there are two other books after it. I felt like there was too much going on. I think I would have enjoyed this if the author had chosen to focus on one or two events.
