I've seen this manga floating around .a lot, so I was excited to have the chance to read it. Overall, a funny story with great art. The main character is the Legendary Dragon, an infamous yakuza boss who has disappeared. Turns out, he got married, and is now the scariest house-husband on the block. It's told in small, non-related segments, however I would have preferred slightly longer segments with more development as some scenes seemed to end very abruptly. Some of the gags were a little hit-or-miss for me, but all in all, an enjoyable, fun read.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the mangaka for a digital copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

I'd seen some parts of this floating around online and thought it was kinda cute. That holds true in the full first volume too. It consistently strikes a balance between sweet and absolutely ridiculous. I love the juxtaposition of the mundane things the main character does and the intense art style. It's genuinely a funny little manga and I can't wait to read more of it.

The Way of the Househusband is the best thing ever! It's a manga about an ex-yakuza turned househusband. It's funny and the action is great, yes it's a slice of life manga with action. Not only is this well written this is also amazingly drawn. I highly recommend this manga.

Once upon a time, Tatsu was known as the Immortal Dragon, the most feared Yakuza boss in all of Japan.

Now?

He will cut you down for the best bargain so he can continue to make the most kawaii of bento boxes.

Tatsu is now living his happiest life as a househusband while his wife, Miku, is a designer and careerwoman; they are happily married and share an apartment, have a cat named Gin, and Tatsu does his best to keep the household running smoothly.

His methods are just, well, a little unorthodox.

This brilliant first volume in the popular "The Way of the Househusband" manga will make readers laugh as Tatsu takes on ordinary household tasks and scenarios with his own unique twist. Along the way, old gang members try to figure out what his long game is. What brooding thoughts are going on behind those big dark sunglasses and scowling expression? (Really, he's just debating on whether to do pork or chicken for dinner. Depends on what coupons are available at the grocery store.)

Needless to say, there are shenanigans ahead.

This series is pretty one-note, but it's a cute note! I hope that eventually it will evolve into a story that allows for more character and plot development, but the short gags about Tatsu's unique perspective on domestic life are still very funny.

This is a slice of life manga which means that it’s not a set concrete story. You get short stories of the mundane day to day experiences. So we see the house husband, Tatsu, in his natural environment such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and being a general badass while he takes care of his working wife.

I’m not going to lie I went into this thinking there would be a story into how he came from being a hardcore gangster to becoming a doting husband. But that was my fault for not reading the description. It didn’t take away from the story at all and we are gradually getting to know more about him as a person because his former allies and enemies come looking for him and are just as shocked as we are.

This is a sweet manga packed with many layers. If you’re looking for something light and funny and a comic about a man tending to his gorgeous wife, this is most definitely the read for you.

Thank you very much to Netgalley and the publisher.
