this was a really enjoyable read, the characters were great and I really enjoyed reading the plot. I look forward to more from the author and hope there is more in the series.

This was a very unusual animal led story with a serpent MC and his trusted mouse aid. There’s a heavy dollop of fantasy beyond the anthropomorphic animals in the form of attuned metals and psychic ability causing a kind of mental bonding. The MC, a low born snake called Sookhar, is given an unexpectedly high brow mission but arrives at the outpost to find it abandoned. He is forced into a race against time to discover what happened. If you like animal protagonists, check out this cool serpentine mystery.
