Gotta love a sassy bulldog and a hyper Chihuahua-Daschund puppy. Even though this book is about two dogs, it could possibly be used to help get a child ready to big a big sibling.

This little story would be very useful to read with a child who is expecting a new sibling or experiencing a change in their circumstances. I would use it with my class of autistic primary aged children as a way to introduce the idea of change in family circumstances and how to adjust to new friendships and relationships. I rhin it is suitable for children aged 3 to 6.

First of all, the cover is so eye catching! Children are absolutely drawn to all books about dogs. That’s why there are a plethora of them to choose from. Daisy, the English Bulldog is the leading dog in her family, until she is not! Lilly-Rosa, a Chihuahua-Dachshund puppy is brought home one day and Daisy must learn to accept the change. She can no longer sleep all day, because a ball of princess energy is now in the house! What a time appropriate book, especially with children’s questions surrounding the new Covid-19 world.

This book shares ways to cope with and accept change we cannot control. Sometimes children get very anxious when change happens, however; change is not always bad. Daisy learns to adjust to Lilly Rosa’s energy and come to love and accept her new friend.

The illustrations are full of charm and color. They also help create a child’s imagination! The back of the book allows for adults and children alike to learn ways to cope with change, such as mindfulness and controlled breathing. I truly enjoyed this book, and I think you will, too!

This book highlights an adorable bulldog adjusting to the addition of a new dog in her family, after having been the center of attention in her home all 7 years of her life. This is indeed a big change for Daisy, as the title implies. This is a lovely little book to help young children better deal with big changes in their lives, especially those who have been only children for some time and are getting a new sibling. This book is also great for lovers and owners of dogs.

I especially enjoyed the pages at the end of this book about the true characters behind its story, Daisy and Lilly.

This is a great story about a dog who gets a new sister. This is the perfect book for children who love dogs or those who have a new brother or sister on the way! Daisy is unsure at first but finds a fun game to play with her new sister and ends up really loving her. And the dogs are adorable!

Man, they had me at the cover. I am a sucker for dogs and cats being dressed up in human clothes! It's a dog, and she is in a Tutu! There must be hilarity inside. While yes, the dogs are cute and do doggy stuff like play tug of war. It's a pretty straightforward story about making friends and finding the common ground that brings us together.

It's no fault of the author that I was expecting something more fantastical. I envisioned a story about a put upon dog who keeps getting dressed up in ever more ridiculous outfits. Maybe there could be a big reveal at the end. I really shouldn't say more in case I want to sit down and write it myself.

Oh and Daisy was based on a real honest to goodness dog.

I read this book to my granddaughter and she enjoyed it. First, she loved the cover. She thought a dog wearing a "ballet dress" was awesome. This story is about accepting change in your life told through the eyes of Daisy, the English Bulldog. When Lilly Rosa arrives in their home, Daisy is not sure about it. She was used to being the Queen, so what was going to happen when this little sister arrives. We thought Lilly Rosa was pretty funny looking. Lilly was pretty energetic and Daisy learned to adjust to having a Princess in the home. We loved the illustrations. They were cute and well done. The end of the book gave some ideas and hints for coping with change. This was one that she wanted to hear again later in the day, so it is a winner in our eyes.

I received this ebook in exchange for an honest and fair review. This is a nicely written children’s book that can be used as a read along for fun or can be used to teach a lesson.. Daisy learned having a new sister was fun once she gave her a chance. The illustrations were beautiful, This book could help a child accept a new brother or sister either from birth or adoption. It can also be used to introduce playing with new friends and the right way to act But it can also be used as a fun book to read.

Daisy is a fun, playful Bulldog who is used to being by herself and she is fine with that! However, when her family decide to rescue a little sister for Daisy in the shape of fun, fluffy, little Lilly Rosa and Daisy isn't too sure of this change.

This book is a really good way to slowly easy children into the idea of a new sibling entering the family as it explores ideas the children might be thinking - like sharing toys - through Daisy and her new sister Lilly Rosa. Through the two fun, loving dogs, all of Daisy's worries about having a new sister are explored. I do feel the book ended quite abruptly and I would have preferred Daisy to have discovered even just one more thing she liked about having a little sister before the book ended but it was still enjoyable all the same.

The artwork is a very unique style that I haven't seen before but I did like it and I think it would appeal to children very much so as they illustrations aren't perfect, children can aspire to draw them too!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book to read and providing me with the opportunity to give my own, honest opinion.

First, the illustrations are phenomenal and adorable. Unfortunately, they do not make up for the subpar resolution of the story. The first dog is upset about her home being invaded by the new dog and does some emotional regulation like taking a deep breath (great integration of that idea) and mediates but doesn't explain what that actually means. Because the new dog is willing to do whatever necessary to please the first dog, they play tug of war (despite a large size difference) and suddenly the first dog is happy the new dog is there. Even with a children's book, this resolution feels kind of flat. Still, good moral and amazing illustrations.

Loved this sweet book! My dogs also went through a similar situation to Daisy and Lily - one of them had been the only dog in the house for 7 years when we rescued her little sister, and they had a similar start to their friendship! I adored the illustrations in this and thought that the overall story and message of how change can be a good thing was a really great way to explain it.

The beautiful cover art is what drew me to this book. The interior illustrations were just as incredible. I loved the life and movement of the paintings.
The story was sweet and well written, but the illustrations were the star.

A modern canine fairytale of sorts, the Daisy of the title is a bulldog who one day gets a little sister in Chihuahua Lilly Rosa, who disrupts her happy life until Daisy learns to accept the good that comes with change. While the story doesn’t feel as quickly paced or action packed as some, it is a gently meandering story with two very distinct characters in the serious Daisy and energetic Lilly Rosa. This could be a useful book in talking to small children about change, like new siblings, and how to deal with this when it feels a bit scary. The pictures are beautiful and really capture the personalities of the dogs. It was really lovely to see they are real life pooches at the end of the book.
Thank you to Purple Butterfly Press and Net Galley for the advance e-book copy of this title.

A nice story about giving chances and change. A lovely lesson hidden in a well illustrated story about two dogs Daisy and Lilly Rosa.

What a lovely picture book! All little kids love dogs, especially if they are wearing cute outfits! So it will be a very appealing book to young children. The illustrations were nice, and the story was lots of fun and had a really lovely message that 'change is good if you are willing to be positive!' Lovely story.

It is about Daisy, an English bulldog whose life changes when another dog Lilly Rosa comes to stay with her. The artwork is good. The story tells about how to cope up with change. The author provides some tips at the end.
