This is book three of a series. I have not read the first two which would have made the understanding of this book easier. That being said, it was a good story, but as mentioned above, was sometimes hard to follow. We meet Mali and Ash after she had been hurt and unconscious for several days. Ash is a Qytel Warrior and is to watch over her but there is an attraction. There is suspense, mystery (as well as love) and somewhat of a cliffhanger in the end. Overall this was an enjoyable read.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC for an honest review of this book.
Maliha/Mali let crisp desert air fill her lungs. She savored her first taste of freedom in two months. Mali was a shifter- half human half wolf. The wolf demanded freedom, a raw desperation in her bloodstream. It had been an excruciating recovery. Her twin brother Cole and mom and Ash watched over her like she was an invalid. It wasn’t like she didn’t understand their suffocating concern. To be fair Ash was the one suffocating. She had been unconscious for several days After the attack the Qytel Warrior who’d help save her hadn’t left her bedside. The man who had joked and flirted with her over the last year has all but disappeared and had become serious. So, focused on her. Intense physical attraction had been part of the draw to each other from the beginning. When Mia went on her first run, she had been hunted by a man, but Ash got him before he could shot Mali with a tranquilizer gun. How did he know she was going out that day? She had been underground in the Qytel stronghold. The Qytel had a major rival it was The Order of The Scenester Criteria. The demon who had attacked Mali had been a high-ranking member. Ash knew he was falling hard for Mali. Mali had been unable to shift or even move without excruciating pain for over a month. The injury had left her raw, numb and without her powers-Ash had rarely left her side. Every time she had opened her eyes, panicked and afraid because she couldn’t move or speak, Ash was who she focused on. Sitting quietly in the corner, watching over her, he made her feel safe. He seemed different from the outrageous playboy she had first met. When she was injured something had deepened and grown.
Excellent book I loved it. It was a romantic suspenseful read. I loved Ash and Mali together and how they interacted. I loved after her injury Ash admitted to himself and Mali herself how thee relationship had changed. How Ash had changed his way of life because how he felt about Mali. I loved how they had been flirting around for a year, so a relationship had already been established just had deepened after her injury. I loved the suspense, intrigue, and danger in this book. I loved how Ash became Mali’s anchor. Just an all-around great read I didn’t want to put down. I only put this book down when I had to I love the characters and the twists and turns of this book and I highly recommend it.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Soul Mate Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the third book in a series, and I have not read the first two. It reads ok as a stand alone, you know there is a story before but it's ok. Mali is a bit.of a state-owned listen. Didn't understand the bad guys. They seemed honorable.?! 3 stars
The circle has many layers. The Quytel bring balance, the Vessels can destroy. Ash and Mali are in the middle of the two groups.Mali is trying to recover, in the midst of it she becomes the hunted. Ash tries to help Mali and the two become embroiled in a centuries old feud. The concept was good, however the thoughts and words were often repeated unnecessarily. This is book 3 of the series, a standalone unless you want to know about the other characters. There is magic, shapeshifters and intrigue.
Another great book from Jane, I really do love these books, fast paced, full of action, lots of twists, great characters, chemistry, romance, I don’t know what more you could want from a book.these are fabulous

Circle of the Pack is the third book in Jane S. Morrissey’s The Quytel, and there is no shortage of mystery and suspense to keep readers thoroughly intrigued. It was obvious after reading this instalment that there is definitely more to come as we are teased with the unknown, and how the different fractions such as The Quytel and the Order of the Sennestia Cruterra align. Once again there are many fascinating characters in Maliha, Ash and the very likeable Beth to keep you totally enthralled. Circle of the Pack was an edge of your seat read but was easy to follow and had many twists and turns that will only be revealed when you read this book for yourself. I’m very excited for the next in the series.
