A series of crimes forces divorced couple, Jack and Anna, to work alongside each other on a series of murders.
Anna’s childhood friends are picked off, one by one, and Anna fears she is closer and closer to her own death.
Don’t miss this twisty tale layered with alternating points of view and a mysterious third point of view that makes for a satisfying, shocking end!
I have to say Alice Feeney has definitely become an auto buy author for me. I absolutely loved Sometimes I Lie and I Know Who You Are. So when I heard about His & Hers I knew I had to read it. Needless to say, she has done it again.
This book is an intriguing and thought provoking tale that will have you on the edge of your seat. The way the author describes the characters while also revealing the secrets they have is done so beautifully. It’s a complex and appealing cat-and-mouse game with an ending that you won’t see coming. Told from alternating POVs, you get to decide which character you believe especially when both give you reasons to doubt them.
Honestly, I can’t recommend this book or the author enough. If you haven’t picked up your copy yet friends get on it! Meanwhile, this chick is anxiously awaiting the next beauty that this author comes out with!
There are three sides to a story His, Hers, and the truth. A great psychological thriller! It will keep you guessing who's the killer.
Wow, the twisted lives some people try to hide! There were so many twists, misdirections, and unreliable characters that I had no idea what was actually going on. Every time I thought I had it figured out I would change my mind...until the end and I realized I was wrong every single time! Some heavy abuse subject matter that some might want to be aware of before reading. Other than that great read!
This book was amazing, absolutely loved it. Although I loved the audibook version better, due to the voices in the audiobook. This is a creepy thriller that will keep you guessing again and again.
This book was beyond dark and highly entertaining! I really loved how many things you never would have imagined in your wildest nightmares would happen next. The bodies just kept stacking up and I honestly thought I had it all figured out, until the ending was nothing I expected it to be and was shocked to the core to realize I was totally wrong and I absolutely loved that! This author is new to me and I really like the point of views she used telling the story. I will be reading more of her books soon!
This one was just ok for me. I was somewhat interested in it. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were great. The ending, as Feeney's endings tend to be, is more than a little unrealistic. I don't necessarily mind that, but His & Hers had felt like so much was skipped over or unanswered or added just to get to the ending.
It was ok. I wouldn't recommend.
This was a fantastic and fast paced thriller. I loved the format and reading the different viewpoints of "His and Hers". Alice Feeney always writes stories that immediately grab your attention! This one kept me guessing until the very end and I didn't want the story to end!
*** I received my copy from a giveaway so thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the e arc***
***trigger warning: animal cruelty***
This is my first psychological thriller I’ve read in a good while and i must say, it definitely delivered. You get told in three perspectives: Alice, jack and the killer. It dove into a mix of the characters’ pasts and how it came full circle as jack tries to catch the killer before it’s too late. The plot twist...all i can say is be prepared for the unexpected whether you think you know who did it.
His & Hers is a multi-perspective book that will have you guessing who to trust until the bitter end. The main characters, Jack and Anna, are exes who’ve shared the tragedy of losing a child. They are both flawed but still like able enough.
Anna is from a small town and her past is dredged up when someone kills an old classmate. Jack was involved with the victim and from the start you have to question if either Jack or Anna was involved.
I love the concept behind His & Hers! Such a clever story, having two characters tell their side of the story (a bit like One of Us Is Lying). As with every Alice Feeney novel, it was wonderfully twisty, including (what I thought was) an especially clever surprise near the end.
I will say that Feeney's Sometimes I Lie is still my favorite of hers, as her other two books have stretched the believe-ability factor a bit too far for me. However, I find that "believe-ability" is entirely personal, as everyone as different elements that trip their threshold. So -- I did enjoy aspects of this story and I can totally understand why so many people I know loved this one. It just depends what you're looking for. If you want a dark, totally wild psychological thriller with unreliable narrator and tons of twists that keeps you hooked from page one (and don't mind a stretch of the imagination here and there), you'll likely enjoy His & Hers.

This book blew me away! I was unable to but it down. Perfect, dazzlingly, very well written. The details the author described throughout the book was so amazing. The characters and storyline were fantastic. The ending I did not see coming Truly Amazing and appreciated the whole story. This is going to be a must read for many many readers. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! No spoilers. Beyond amazing I enjoyed this book so very much. The characters and storyline were fantastic. The ending I did not see coming Could not put down nor did I want to. Truly Amazing and appreciated the whole story. This is going to be a must read for many many readers. Maybe even a book club pick.
His & Hers is narrated by BBC reporter Anna Andrews and Detective Jack Harper who have a tumultuous past they thought was long behind them but are brought together when a killer strikes the small English village where they grew up.
Anna, a rising star at the BBC, faces a new threat from a rival co-worker and will do anything to keep her position (not to mention her secrets) while Jack, the lead on the case, decides to hide the fact that he intimately knew the victim, who was also a childhood friend of Anna.
As Anna and Jack spin more lies to hide their secrets, suspicion gathers around them—but so does danger. The bucolic village isn’t as wholesome and peaceful as it seems.
This is such a gripping thriller. At least five times, I was convinced I knew the identity of the murderer. Each time I was wrong, I was pleasantly surprised, and I thought the ending was amazing.
Well written thriller that has lots of twists. I kept wanting to read long after I should have been asleep.
Definitely a great read and appealing to lovers of thrillers!
WOW. What a ride that was. Twist and turns galore and has you guessing and guessing again until the very end on who is killing the former St. Hillary Girls students. The writing is well done and the storyline is edge of your seat perfect.
I looooved Alice Feeney’s first book, Sometimes I Lie, it’s one of my favorite thrillers. So when I saw this one available to request I had to try for it.
There’s a murder in a small town and the lead detective and main reporter who is sent to report on it both know each other and the victim… they will go to great lengths to keep this fact a secret.
This book is told in three perspectives, His, Hers, and an unknown third voice.
I loved the format so much, and really felt like you got into the minds of everyone and never knew who the hell the unknown third voice was until the end. The whole time reading it, I would change my mind on who I thought the narrative was from.
This book was dark and twisty and definitely fulfilled everything I love in a Thriller.
I’ve heard the Audio Book has three voices and the unknown voice is using a voice changer, which sounds ÜBER creepy and I love that, probably not a book you want to listen to at night haha
I absolutely love the writing style of Alice Feeney. I've read that some had it figured out who the culprit ones but i didn't see it coming. I was completely blindsided. It was very realist in the fact that it dealt with some very real life issues. This is a must read for everyone!
An exceptionally incredible book. The story takes place in England. Anna Andrews finally has what she desired, to be the news presenter for the famous BBC network. It is her perfect dream come true. One day she is asked to cover a murder in Blackdown, the small town where she grew up. She was surprised to discover that the victim of this terrible crime was a friend of hers since childhood. Anna won't leave until she finds out who is guilty of this unpardonable crime. Jack Harper, on the other hand, is a DCI who left London to live more peacefully in the quiet city of Blackdown. His tranquillity did not last long as he heard about the body of a young woman who was found by the police. Not only that but, Jack knows the victim and discovers that he is a suspect, but must there be a mistake, right? That's what I would like to think. I loved this book because it is full of action and intrigue. The story made me feel excited since I wanted to discover what would happen next. I found the book to be quite unpredictable, in the least, which I found very appealing. Anna is a very charming young woman. I think the passion she shows for her work is splendid. I also loved that the author narrated the story from two different points of view because their perspectives were everchanging. It is a book that I recommend, its a delightful and inter-changing story. I thank NetGalley and Flatiron Books for providing me with a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
This was my first Alice Feeney and it was super good! I loved the three POVs, especially the "killer" perspective. This book grabbed my attention immediately and while I did figure out or guess some reveals, the ultimate reveal and climax caught me by surprise! Really enjoyed.
